Chapter XXVI
Since the young greek, Nestorian Emperor rose to power, the empire begun to fall. Starting in August 1376, when Sicily declared independence. Followed by Hungary and Valios. The Empire was in chaos. Even though the Emperor hired 10.000 mercenaries, it wasn't enough. It was sick, and there was no way to heal it. The rebels won (Hungary was crushed), and the Empire was torn apart once more.
The worst was still coming. In August 1379, Godefroy of Lower Lorraine, a simple duke, called Petros a pretender. There was no way to win, and after a short war. The Holy Belgian Empire only contained parts of Germany, and the van Brabants lost control over their homelands. When the Iron Khan invaded, the Emperor didn't cared. After all, there was no way he could fight the Mongols.
Chapter XXVII
On 14 June 1398 Petros II Died at the age of 38, the 13 year old Bartholomeos became emperor . The Empire continued to crumble, and in the end, only 3 provinces where hold. On 30 April 1413 Bartholomeos died at the age of 20, and the one year old Apoliana became the first female emperor. The Empire was weak, and the question was, would it survive the road to Enlightingment?
