Thanks Joe but it's not done yet I think I have another chapter or two for you. Hopefully in the future I'll be able to write another, this attempt has been a real confidence boster and it appears people have enjoyed it.

i just picked up a copy of EUII (after playing EU to death), and Lithuania is my second scenario (after a sucessful learning curve experience with England).
anyhow, after disposing of the Order, grabbing Memel, annexing Pskov and oicking up Ingermanland, i'm about right where you left off; lots of rebels, constant downward pressure on stability, caught in cycles of taking a loan out and then repaying it...
one good thing is strong polish alliance and a second is relatively high admin levels of my monarchs.
curious if there is a way up and out. muscovy is consolidating and then it may be too late. guess i'll find out.

Good luck the longer I went the worst off it became. It's difficult to compete with the Russians also. The whole tech level thing and the hordes of foot soldiers. Good luck, keep me posted.

I hate that you had to end this one, but I can certainly understand the time needed to produce one of these things. It would have been great to see what you could have done in another hundred years, let alone when all of the historical events were supposed to kick in.
If you can get around to another one, please do, this was a great mix of story combined with game play...and neat pictures.

I`ve recently bought a book called "The History of Lithuania" by Zigmas Kiaupa. If you`re still interested in the history of the Grand Duchy, I will absolutely recommend it! The book`s highly impressive, and holds everything there is to know about the country. I don`t know if it`s possible to buy it in your region. I bought it in Lithuania myself, you see.
If you should ever play Lithuania again I`ll give you one advice; go for the Golden Horde, and let "the Order of the Knight of the Sword" (Teutonic Order) excist for some more years ...

I think I've actually read that book by Kiaupa after I had started writing the AAR. Was it published in the 1940s?
Nope ... Kiaupa is still going strong, as you english speaking says, born in 1942 ... The book`s written and published in the year of 2002.
He is a Ph.D., senior research officer of the Institute for Lithuanian history in Vilnius. Docent of the Department of History of Vytautas the Great University. Member of Lithuanian Herraldry Commission. Member of the State Monument Preservation Commission of the Republic of Lithuania. Have earlier written a book called "The history of Lithuania before 1795, together with two other historians.

First and foremost, a wonderful AAR, flavoured with magnificent historical knowledge, and from a 'westerner' (this is a term some Lithuanians have for people west of Poland, who know about Lithuanian history mainly from Polish history books, which are obviously biased )! Wonderful... can you in some way continue writing the AAR? Please! Pretty please!..
Now about sources for Lithuanian history... I don't know if it is available in English, but there is a book 'History of Lithuania, part I', by E. Gudavicius, a famous Lithuanian historian. It's very detailed, and covers the time since prehistory till the Union of Lublin.
Also, there is a site http://www.lietuva.lt. There is an English version available too, and it has a brief history of Lithuania there... but I think you do not need it, as you seem to know all of this by heart (or by whichever part of your body you use when writing this AAR)

By the way; visited your home city this summer (in addition to Klaipeda [daytrips to Nida, Juokrante and Palanga] in Lithuania, Riga in Latvia, Tallinn, Tartu and Pärnu in Estonia).
Think it was great. But the Estonian cities I visited were even nicer ...
