We don't know what Kingdom he's playing. What the vassal religion/culture status is and finally, we don't know if some count went independent or a mayor and the Duke want's him back under his thumb and the King is too noob to realize that he needs to transfer vassalage. So, we can just wait for his save game and see where the issue is.

Hahahaha. That gave me a good laugh. You are a riot.

http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...ing-claims&p=13595275&highlight=#post13595275

pmeinel, you didn't even know how to invite and push claims, and you barely understood how people inherit claims back in mid March. If I were you, and I was away for a month and came back to the game recently, I wouldn't be so quick with the attitude and brag that I'm 99% sure I'm better than others. Good luck growing up.

OUCH!!! lol.

To be fair Pmeinel, you might have better luck if you were not so aggressive towards people when you have a problem. Telling people they suck, probably isnt going to get you very far! Post a save game.

That's your choice and fault, I suppose.

Dukes -very rarely- are pissed off enough to outright rebel.

A. They're either ambitious, which you should've thought of and taken into consideration.
B. You hold a title or vassal that they desire. In which case it's probably better to fork it over.
C. You're a horrible ruler with awful stats.
or
D. You increased crown authority, or you have a stupid high crown authority. Again, you should've thought of this.

Either way, this sounds more like user error than anything else. The only time I've -ever- had issues with rebellions is if I'm rockin' high or absolute crown authority, or I'm in the middle of a -really bad- succession crisis -- and even then those are really manageable.

But right now it's not possible to keep dukes from rebelling.
Maybe for you, but I can play as any Kingdom and keep any vassal duke happy. It's not difficult to know what they want and how to give them it.

Now, before you go on, you said you don't have much time to play and save a lot, are you using an older save from a previous patch?

Yes this does happen but it has to do with some negative traits not being taken into account unless you give a landed title. So if I give a nobody county x then he is overjoyed. But he is also waiting for county y and duchy x which are attached to county and which you hold. He's angry and then he asks for duchy x (which is HIS RIGHT!!!) and you don't give it to him. Insta-rebellion. Why is this a problem?

I've never really had that problem, unless you're handing those counties out to Saxons (I'm assuming you're William the Bastard) rather than good Normans.

I've not really had those problems since the early versions of the game.. There might be a civil war every once in a while when a king takes over, but usually I've managed to get my heir educated into the right traits. Rebellions are usually something I've encouraged to rearrange my realm when something gets messy.

You sure you aint just pissing people off?

None of the things you just mentioned applied. Just 4 counts who had been risen up from nothing and they instantly rebel. This is flawed. I understand why it happens; because the game has to work on abstracts using opinion numbers but in the end, this is terribly flawed. Saying 'this does happen' is meaningless as clearly it happens, I just said it did. The point is that it should never happen.

No, I'm English and they were given to Welsh people because the fact that I'm English is due to dumb AI passing out my grand-heirs to English guardians. Regardless, my point stands. No amount of opinioin negatives beyond 'he literally killed my family in front of me' should amount to a count that I just raised up rebelling against my kingdom. #1: That's absurd and #2: He's got like 5% or less of the troops I do so it's pointless.

Then it was your fault for not making sure your grand kids were properly raised.

Absolutely not. As I've said, the culture difference should be meaningless in this circumstance and beyond that sometimes to get claims or inherrit land you need to sacrifice direct control of your heirs. Now, go away as you're clearly not capable of contributing.

I think I've made plenty of valid contributions to plenty of threads, I have as much right as you to post so don't tell me where I can or can not post.

It is your fault that your grand children have the wrong culture penalty, you are ultimately resposible for all of your hiers actions, you want more control over them, then don't let them out of your court. You made the choice to send that child off to get claims, not the AI, you did that.

And how exactly should the culture penalty only work in some situations and not others? Just because you gave these people land? If you did it right, they would never rebel, there's plenty of things you can do or not do that would stop rebellions.

Culture penalty is what? -20 at the most, couldn't have been that alone, you did something else wrong, my guess, not de jure liege tipped them over.

Absolutely yeah. You screwed up your culture and whether you like to think it ought to matter, it does. "Waaah waaah, these new counts still think I'm a dick." It's really not that difficult to handle.

Absolutely not. As I've said, the culture difference should be meaningless in this circumstance and beyond that sometimes to get claims or inherrit land you need to sacrifice direct control of your heirs. Now, go away as you're clearly not capable of contributing.

You have the people skills of a rabid raccoon, I swear.

And no. Welsh people should definitely throw a fit if they're being ruled by someone that doesn't properly represent them. The game takes place during a period where cultural differences bred some degree of resentment.

I really haven't had these issues unless I've collected several small- to medium-sized kingdoms, which in itself is rather implausible as such realms would have been divided among sons upon succession, however as 1.6 will give the option of destroying titles for massive prestige this will soon be corrected. I do agree with the tediousness of smaller rebellions though and the plot-system really should be reworked as coalitions between rebellious nobles should be the rule and not the exception. Fighting a short war against a single duke as the king of France is boring, when half of your kingdom rises against you and actually matches your military strengt - that is just plain old fun.
