I'd say take Holland and just move with your capital and everything to the new world.
Holland starts already as free-trade country whilst Hansa still has to make the slider moves -
with Holland you can have QFTNW by 1430, so just colonise the islands and take a province across the atlantic, wait for the cores and colonise. :D

Playing as Holland, is moving your slider all the way to naval a good choice and keeping low amount of land units in your Europe province? as i plan not to go war with any country in Europe, is that possible?

I usually go full naval for the tarriff income. However, I normally keep my capitol in the Old World because the provinces that make up the netherlands are rather juicy both tax wise / trade good wise. With viceroys, full naval and enlisted privateers I consider it silly to move your capitol overseas. Just my two cents.

Hansa if you want to go mercantilism (best for extensive conquest + forming Germany, which makes you rich as hell).

Holland if you want to go free trade (best for financing extensive colonialism).

Holland will probably net you more ductas in the long run, but Hansa will allow you to expand without damaging your primary source of income. Also, if you can grab the tolls, Hansa can be very lucrative.

I've played several games as Holland, and my goal is generally to start exploring by 1425 or so, conquer some minor in India to give me a base of operations in the east from which to expand via holy wars, colonize the Atlantic islands at around the same time, and expand leisurely from there. Typically I'll grab Utrecht and Friesland at the most convenient time along the way. If you colonize a lot, you may have occasional periods of fiscal instability, but eventually your income will dwarf that of everyone else in the game, especially if you take viceroys + press gangs, go full naval, and build docks and counting houses in all those juicy Caribbean provinces. Between your tariffs and your trade, you'll be rolling around in gold like Scrooge McDuck by mid-game. Just make sure to keep your infamy at a relatively low level so you remain competitive.

You can generally take your troops out of Europe once you have all the Dutch provinces you want, provided there's a balance of power between Burgundy, England, and France. If one of them ever blobs, keep a stack in Holland to be safe. Once you're big enough, you can just swarm them with troops from your manpower pools in Asia and America and break them up.

Only time I went overseas was in a multiplayer game as Navarra. Aragon, Castille and Portugal kept declaring war on me all the time and so I made an "Arrangement" with France and England who were Human players for them to protect me so I could make the move. My Navarran-Mexico lasted till end game at least without any major threats. (a few major wars though).

Yeah, it really pisses me off to see AI hansa conquer Denmark, when RL Hansa was as decentralized as you can get!

Hansa has trade center, and is a merchant republic, better economics. But Holland is in better position to start sending colonists to New World. I personally think that Hansa is a lot easier option though.

Bring England back into the fold is the best mission ever. Followed immediately by Bring Sweden back into the fold. It's awesome!

Lol! Hmm, I detect what might be a tiny shred of sarcasm. Seriously though, Hansa should be a 'club' of sorts which most cities around the Baltic sea were a part of. Merchants in these cities formed formidable trade entities and built up a thriving trade network that helped this region become very rich. Some of these trade empires were not unlike the 'East India Companies' that would form much later. It bugs me to no end to see them as a national entity however with Lubek the major beneficiary instead of all the cities in the Hanse getting a bonus for being a part of it. These traders didn't care much what Monarch ruled what territory as many owned land throughout several major cities in various countries.

One could basically split the tax-province bonusses that Lübeck gets because of the COT to all the other cities the Hansa controles. Shouldn't that be kind of modable?

I didn't really notice, because i formed the Netherlands in my Hansa game...
I didn't think it gave me much but apparently it saved me alot of frustration.

that's a neat idea, actually. you get all the kickass hansa decisions plus the benefit of being netherlands and having cores all over the lowlands.
