The Guardians of Vahalla

Today I present you with the beginnings of a unique AAR. I am quite certain none have ever attempted to write one with this country!

I shall play on Very Hard, Normal Agressivity, and try to cheat the mists of time that made Vinlandia fall into oblivion in our world. I plan to turn the small tribes into a great power, or perish in the process. 1.07 BETA 21 july, No cheats, no exploits, no reloads, etc.

In case it needs explanations, i have designed myself the starting cities, and the event, leader, monarch files of this nation, which is loosely based on the little historical info we have about Vikings discovering America in the late 900s in real life. Their puny settlements alas vanished, but this AAR assumes that they survived and prospored, and lets the EU2 engine take it up from there to determine their destiny! I tried to build the nation as fairly as I could. Vinlandia starts with a few city but they are all poor and of small size. It is a pagan nation, since it was the case, but it benefits from a halfdecent techgroup, since its roots are European.

Now, onwards, Guardians of Vahalla!

Well, there has been vinland games before and written about, but it has been a long time since one has been done. I shall look forword to how this plays out! Good luck!

Thank you, it worked! I've started the playing/writing, and ill surely be able to post the first entry tomorrow.

Also, good to hear someone else did it before. i suppose im not the only one willing to take the time to build an entire country from scratch then.

Well, there is the Vinland scenario, that has a (now discontinued) 20K+ post thread in the scenarios forum, featuring plenty of events concerning the interactions of Vinland with both the old and the new world, leaders, setup changes, &etc. An updated version is included with EUII in the Strategy First Crown of the North release, as far as I have heard. The scenario itself was discontinued due to lack of interest leaving only one man, Languish, to finish it, and I have no idea where the latest download can be found (if at all)
