To Argentina after you lose war...

Vae Victis
Well, hopefully, on normal difficulty it will be doable. It should possible to use several of the new features to our advantage. I probably won't read the manual, though. That's for casual gamers. And people who want to win, I suppose.
Damn...that puts me before a conundtrum. I want to win. on the other hand, I'm GeneralDisarray, I do not read the manual before playing...on the other hand, I want to win...rats

Well, let's see if we can find 8 people (to fill the 8 nations I listed) and then we can exhange emails/set up a time.

So, take your pick!

AXIS
1. Germany - oribiasi
2. Japan - Brolo

eek.

Having just had a quick refresher of Japan's position in HoI2, I think my best hope may be a combination of public and private diplomacy. This may result in my living in exile in Hawaii, preferring to live in shame rather than taking the easy way out. It is a tragedy that the contents of the Imperial Treasury were lost in a bombing raid during this time.

I've not looked into the multi-player aspects, but this could be fun. Oil is for wimps anyway!

I don't envy you selecting the Empire of Japan. They can be a challenge, especially logistically speaking. The army in China could be SOL if you're not careful. Glad to have you, though, my man -- PM me with your email, when you have the time, so we can set up our game with the rest of the guys who want to play.

Won't having human allied players mean an automatic loss for the Axis? I can see human axis team win against the AI allies, but no human vs human. The allies will have a gigantic advantage.

I'd join in as Italy (I like pain) but I'm not sure I will be getting HoI3 at the release.

Depends on the start conditions. If it's '44 for an MP Grofaz, then playing Axis won't be easy, but that's the challenge. In a pre-war start, diplomacy may mean a completely different version of history emerging. Human opponents can be far less predictable than AI's :)

We've had this discussion a month ago or so, and some people took it up.

So, the idea is, before anyone learns how to game the game, those who take up this challenge do the following once they get the game -

1. Read the manual thoroughly
2. Go through the tutorials thoroughly
3. Start the 1944 scenario and play Japan or Germany

No "training games" as Germany. No playing New Zealand to get used to the quirks of Production AI. Take it like a man.

Both sides (player and AI) are not to employ cheats, meaning that the game has to be played at normal/normal.

The person to survive the longest wins.

....getting ready for this...pouring over the manual! Do we have a place to post our results, or will we be creating AAR's?

(this is also a semi-bump, but my question is legit! ;) )

Regards,

Jeff

Is this multiplayer game for the 1944 scenario, or 1936?

If it's 1944, and you're going to be playing the first weekend after release, and you don't mind subbing me out potentially at some point, I'll play (whats left of) Italy.

Otherwise, never mind :p

I assume getting the demo for the tutorial is fine though yes?

Due to time, scenario and country restrictions, playing a demo would be fine. It essentially acts like an extended tutorial this way.
