Sparta, obviously.
When your court is a small army in size something is wrong. Terribly wrong. You could almost yell at court one day "Arm yourself we're going to beat up some peasant uprisings!".

Maybe appoint a baron or courtier as leader based on their military stats and relation to you?Yes. But I suspect that the current game code does not support retinues without leaders. The game needs a placeholder, a pointer to where it sends reinforcents to. Just like regular mercenaries unit needs a leader. I think what they did was just re use the code and create a lowborn in your court. Problem is that we're talking about 20 or more units of 500 men, instead of 1 unit of 4000 something mercenaries. Also mercenary captains do not reside in your court compared to dozens of retinue generals that do. Its really frustating that most of the "cool" features that came with 1.07 serms undertested in QA before being released. Almost everything is now broken from factions, teleporting vassal levies, mongol undead doomstacks, lowborn retinues, rebelling clone armies, etc. Most of us were really looking forward for LoR, but its really disapointing....
Manually giving every single holding to the people from your court is quite annoying especially if there is a lot of them and even more when you have large empire and retinue capacity in the range of 200-300k or more.I dunno if this is a CK2+ tweak or if it's base, but Ive been able to keep my general spam in check by giving them bishop, mayor and baron titles. While they leave my court for their new position, they still stay in the retinue thus freeing the space from my court. Rght now all my retinue generals are bishops lol. Of course it does help that Im playing in iberia and routinely have new bishops to make.
But yes, I wish this was fixed. I really like the retinues, but this small tidbit is annoying

This cure would be worse then disease since I only have to use Court tab from time to time.
IMHO best option until Paradox fixes this is to ignore it unless your game lags.
Does anyone know the actual fact on how a court of 80 or so impacts the chances of people having children in your court? Does it make it 0%?
