True enough this has been raised before, nothing new - and there was - is a debate about whether including late in-game both the Great War (1914-1918), the Russian Revolution and Russian Civil War mechanics - dynamics and event flavour would be feasible at all. I guess the question remains, with the continued progression and development of the game, who knows if the Great War (1914-1918) can be integrated into the game as well as simulating the causes and effects emanating as well from 2 Russian Revolutions of 1917 ( February 1917 - bourgeous liberal-socialist / October 1917 - communist-Bolshevik) and the Russian Civil war (1917-1922) and when Bolsheviks defeated all anti-communist (White) forces and forced Allied intervention ( British, American, Canadian, French, Japanese etc.) forces to stop their occupation of / and withdraw from parts of Russia's North and Siberia. This is not about railroading history as some might argue, but rather about adding a critical flavour that is completely amiss in Vikki 3 and was in previous iterations.

it's "completely amiss [sic. i think you mean _missing_?]" because playing from 1836 leads one, as it ought, down alternate historical paths that don't necessarily arrive at the guns of august 1914 as we know it, but the mechanics for all that are already well present in the game. in my current run i've seen and been a party to several great wars (too many in fact for plausability if you ask me) and witnessed multiple communist revolutions (as well as ensuing civil wars), so bootstrapping our timeline onto the game's wouldn't be adding any additional "flavor" so much as likely-weird incongruities to one's game. i'm all for historical flavor within the game's parameters, but part of the joy of vicky has always been the exploration of alternate histories.
