The Great Nagyari Empire

The Nagyari species, a humanoid race.

“The Nagyari. A most curious lot.”

The Watcher tsk’ed.

“Who now?”

The Creature looked up.

“The Great Nagyari Empire. In galaxy B56912-17, dimension G19-127. I’ve been following them lately. A most curious lot.”

The Watcher sighed.

“You know,” he said, “they did well early on. Could have dominated their surroundings so easily. Now they’re one of many. I wonder…”

The Creature grinned.

“Much like your humans, except for the lack of success, then?”

The Watcher turned.

“Yes. And no. The humans did well from the onset. These one…they look human, act human, yet are not human. And they do not – yet at least – have close to the same success.”

He hummed.

“I do wonder if they can change their destiny, though. I wonder…”

The Creature smiled.

“Destiny is a fickle thing. But friend, tell me more about these Nagyari.”

The Watcher narrowed his eyes, looking deep into nothingness.

“Yes. Yes, it is. Destiny. Curious thing…”

He laughed.

“Yes, my friend. I will tell you. I do not know how long the story will be, or whether it will be of much interest in the longer term though. Who knows what lies beyond the horizon…?”

Hello there, friends! :)

So I was trying out something new, and decidely not wise for AAR writing purposes, namely an ironman game. Never done that, to be honest. But I wanted to test it out last night. Ended up with something I wanted to tell. Naturally, not easy as I had not made notes and could not go back due to it being an ironman game. :p

This is written with The Watcher and The Creature as story tellers, just like my old Apocalypse AAR. It might last a while, it might not. I do not know. The story I saw unfolding can be told in a few chapters. But there might be more, who knows? :) I'm only 56 years into the game so far. It will be what it will be. I did not use mods this time, as that has a tendency of wrecking saves like crazy. :p

I hope you will enjoy the ride, for as long as it lasts. :)

Interesting

The Watcher and the Creature? Observing history from a grand scale... kinda reminds me of an episode of Star Trek Enterprise where two non-corporeal aliens were observing the crew. I guess I have to go back and read your Apocalypse AAR now. I'm intrigued.

It's in my inkwell, linked in my sig. :) Happy to have you on board! :)

As promised (even if it's late) my comment: subbed ;)! And looking forward to it, obviously.
Welcome to you too. Finally you made it. ;)

Update probably tonight.

Creepy. The watcher loves you; perhaps you should love the watcher.

Chapter 2
“I’m listening, my friend.”

The Creature beckoned The Watcher to continue.

“Ah, yes… The Nagyari, they did well initially. Their beloved Empress, the first of many, she sent out explorers. Soon found two planets of similar continental classification nearby.”

Old Alvania, the home world of the Nagyari.

The Watcher chuckled.

“Found more than they expected, they did.”

The Creature tilted his head.

“Precursors, was it? It always is. They never expect it.”

The Watcher grinned.

“No, no they never do, do they. Most curious…”

The Creature nodded.

“Who was it, then?”

The Watcher looked up.

“The Grunur and Baol. Most curious, you seldom see them in these corners of the dimensions.”

He sighed.

“The Baol…poor lot they were. As the Nagyari would find out, soon enough. Such a gentle species, but not for this world. No, no they weren’t.”

He shrugged.

“In any case, the Nagyari expanded. Grew. Soon they had five inhabited planets, sixteen systems. Their economy flourished. They were happy.”

The Creature sighed.

“What did they do, then? Some dangerous technology? A space dragon?”

The Watcher smirked.

“I see you looked up on the robots in galaxy C14992-19, dimension T123-92. No, it was no dragon. No dangerous technology. It was greed.”

The Creature tsk’ed.

“It so often is. Neighbors, then.”

The Watcher nodded.

“Yes. The Yldar. A most interesting lot, themselves, they are.”

The Holy Yldar Kingdom, the first obstacle for the Nagyari.

Here there be xenophobes. :D

Greed, and its cousin pride, are most dangerous things.

This is pretty cool. The Baol chain seems to be as rare as I thought.:D

Oh no, are the Nagyari about to be deus vult'ed by the space elves?

I've only had the Baol a few times. It's a shame, I like Gaia worlds.
You'll see. :D Trouble IS ahead, but in what form?

The Baol did not give me a Gaia world I'm afraid, not that I remember at least. :p But it did give me a nice bonus to my civ.
Humans and Space elfs!!!
Yes! :D

"A situation reveals it self right under the looking glass, the sound of grass being crushed and the scent of withered flora emerging from below. I extend my apologies to all victims of the failure of diplomacy, for it does appear that its coming is inevitable."

- Nuori Nymylanskue, Pieridae Diplomat.

This is well written! Looking forward to the next part of the story. ^u^
