The biggest disappointment for me is the production queue lag that still exists in 1.2 (its not as bad as 1.1, but its not completely fixed either)

Once you get big enough to have decent industry you tend to have lots of stuff getting built at the same time and after that opening the production window or re-prioritizing items in it or adding stuff to it is just plain painful.

To avoid shooting myself in the head because of the lag I am forced into AI auto-production by 1940. Not fun at all.

I am starting to fear that this will not get fixed at all.

Yes, I would. HoI II is a fantastic game and while HoI 3 has myriad features that make it potentially so much better (if we overlook its current problems), HoI II has indeed matured into a reliable and enjoyable game since its release. If you don't have the patience for a buggy, quasi-beta HoI3, and have never had the pleasure of playing HoI2, then yes, I heartily recommend you give it a try. It's also pretty cheap right now as well and can be bought with both expansions.

I'm going to continue to hope PI does the right thing here and fixes this game in a timely manner rather than shelving it for some new release or an expansion. Their track record suggests sooner or later they will, I'm just hoping it's sooner, rather than later, or I'll stick to the avoiding PI games until they've been out for a couple of years idea. ;)

Thank you very much.

What do you think about their announcement of Victoria 2,will this have influence on further developemennt of HOI III since this could distract them from polishing/patching HOI III?

They have a team of less than 12 people including the marketing team (at least 2 people), CEO and artists.

They have 4 ongoing projects:

-Victoria 2
-Europa Universalis 3 expansion
-Europa Universalis 3 3.2 patch
-Hearts of Iron 3 beta version

You divide less than 12 programmers for 4 projects, what do you get?

i edited provence AA, it doesnt do str damage but each 1 reduces effective bombing by a small %, the techs increase this %.

Could you tell me how you did that, I've been wanting to do just that, AA didn't really do that much damage irl, it forced the bombers to higher altitude, which reduced their accuracy.

a hamster that is bad at math.

Why? you assume they are going to be doing all of these at the same time. Even those that are done by the team are not gonna be split evenly team wise. The EU 3.2 patch probably will not take too long either.

Because they said that they have a different team working on patches and a different team working on new products?

They even went as far as having release dates for EU3 expansion (December 2009) and Victoria 2 (April to July 2010).

My math skill is not the problem here but I'll be nice and refrain from commenting on your grammar.

I just loaded my 1940 game as Britian. They Certainly like their transports. Each fleet has between two and ten of them. God knows what they are actually going to transport though.

They need those transports in their fleets to slow down those fast destroyers and BC!!! The computer never considers speed. Just like HOI2 when it would always combine inf, mot, arm and MIL in a stack. Esp when they put MIL-ARt (move2) with Arm-eng (move 11). Now the same with ships. I try to group by speed, but I can only select so many units at a time. A computer does not have this problem, IT should be better than I. A computer can move 12 fleets faster than I can do one.

Why?

Have others had their Radar cease working after a reload? And also the area high light for air missions with a set range doesnt seem to be working all the time either.

Yes, this has been a regular problem for me as well but according to the fan boys everything is great so we shouldn't mention stuff that doesn't work .

My new 1.2 game as USSR has progressed to the point where I am concluding that the trade issues have not been resolved. It's fall 1937 and many of my trade partners have been in trouble for over a year now -- apparently they have no money. Unlike my previous 1.1 game they never cancel their deals. But they keep asking for new deals when they do have money (instead of paying their part of the prior deal?). So I end up with a dozen deals with each partner, with maybe one of them active. And it's not a convoy issue this time, since most of these countries have land borders with USSR (e.g., Latvia, Sinkiang).

Which is definitely a plus! :D

Unfortunately though, it means that Patch 1.3 is coming soon. Usually, Paradox Games (EU3, HoI2) end with Patch 1.3 and Expansions come. So if Patch 1.3 does not fix things yet, 1.4 might never come and we'll have to pray for an expansion fix.

Don't be so pessimistic. HOI 1 ended with Patch 1.6c or something
