I apologize to all of you for my limited English but could anybody of you clarify this statement for me please:

“All current bugs were not reported by betas“.

Does it mean: „none of the current bugs were reported by betas“

Or

„Some of them were reported and some weren’t“

Thanks.

It means that all of the bugs we're talking about were never reported by the betas.

Some were, some were not. But for me it makes little difference. A lot of them are too big to miss and easy to fix. Yet we have second patch and they are still there. I can't belive that no beta complained about messed up british cabinet. And it has influence on the game! Don't tell me you don't remember the big IC loss for almost whole 1936. And how is Munich agreement justified withouc Chamberlain?

EDIT: OK, i guess maybe I understand it wrong too... well I am no native speaker (and neither is probably Kallocian) so maybe it is just misunderstanding...

There is 1 major bug that makes the game unplayable atm and that is the fact that the brits seem to be only building transports, they have around 200 of them)...

I dunno why people are complaining about AA guns, they seem to be far more effective than interceptors to me... which seems just to be needed to prevent the national unity from dropping...

I think gamingmaniac is right in his explanation but I could hardly believe it ( I mean the original paradox’s statement) so I just wanted to make sure.

It's because people overestimate the effect of AA in real life.
AA-guns forced the bombers to fly on a higer altitude (thus having a harder time to hit the right target).

I was banned for giving too much attitude to PI devs. I basically made a scathing post asking why the most serious issues hadn't been acknowledged by the devs and arguing that to release in the current unplayable state would be chaos. I was banned for it. Other people were banned for similar posts. I was really shocked by PI's level of groupthink and tyranny, I once respected this company with heartfelt admiration and now I couldn't care less for them.
Banned now, but I still want to reply. This is a lie. Actually two. All current bugs were not reported by betas, and we do not ban people for expressing opinions on the game.

Whoa! This was the most interesting thread I have read about HOI3 yet. First, a leak from an alleged beta-tester, then his banning coupled with a response claiming what he said was lies. Too bad he was banned, it would have been really interesting to hear what he had to say, or news from any of the other beta-testers. It's like a mystery/suspense/thriller, and people love a good conspiracy theory!

Is the PI policy for beta-testing that you are not allowed to ever reveal information about the beta or your testing of it? Those were certainly some bold claims by baalhammon. (Edit: or are the beta-testers not allowed to reveal the PI policy on beta-testers? haha...)

@baalhammon: banned though you are, PM me if you come on as someone else, I'd like to hear more :p

And the quote from Kallocain does technically mean "of all of the present bugs, none of these were reported by the beta testers"; I think this was misspoken so I wouldn't read it this way unless Kallocain officially comes back to confirm this meaning. But I highly doubt that.

I have brought the situation regarding this game to the attention of Meglena Kuneva on the EU Commision and I am now informed that after investigating it they will be incorporating a report on it into their deliberations regarding a change in the law on the regulations as they apply to refunds on gaming software that is not fit for purpose.

Safe to say that the EULA will very soon be a thing of the past and in the near future it will be your legal right to take a game like this straight back to the point of purchase and obtain a full refund.

This change in the law is long overdue. Gaming software companies have been abusing their special status for far too long and this release by Paradox of HoI3 is a perfect example of how customers are being cheated and defrauded of their money for games that are hyped as near perfect when the company staff know beyond any doubt that the software is in fact not fit for purpose.

The new law will also provide for sanctions against companies that deliberately misrepresent their product for financial gain.

So take heart gentlemen, this kind of fraudulent business model is now on very limited time. :)

Are you seriously accusing Paradox of being 'fraudulent'?
Feel free to contact me through PM about it.

OTOH, it's a good thing the EUC goes for further consumer protection *nods*.

But I will not tolerate 'disguised' accusations of fraud re: Paradox.

Since you clearly do not know what you are talking about or how a BETA works... Each BETA, and it's the same with any company holding beta's, sign an NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement).

In this legally binding contract, you agree to not divulge any information about the product, the beta, etc etc without prior Paradox approval.

Seem reasonable to me... Nobody forced the guy to sign it. Nobody held a gun to his head when signing the agreement. If he didn't agree, he shouldn't have signed it. Coming back later with guns blazing is just a coward's way I'm afraid. I have absolutely zero respect for people that do not take responsibility for their own actions and do not take the consequences of their actions.

One of the things in this is that it is an absurd statement. On one side you say it is the choice of the tester to not disclose, on the other hand if a tester discloses information that the consumer should be aware of it is considerd irresponsible. I on the other hand can only applaud ppl who break signed contracts in the good for the many. This is something Paradox will lose in court of law. Compare it with the exploding Iphones, the consumer should be aware of the flaws, and therefore breaking the disclosure is in the interest of the public. No pun intended, just another point of view.

Right,

To hell with it. I come back here after some 24h without the forum and find this pile of hatred, insults, trolling and nitpicking.

I am very sorry for those gentlemen and women that are trying to be constructive, talk about things sanely, discuss bugs and policies. All of this is allowed, as you all know. I've gone to lengths to keep as many of the complaint threads open. You have a full-time Paradox employee in here discussing stuff with you...

... and still this is seen by some as in invitation to go berserk again. Let this be very clear: I will keep closing thread and handing out infractions, as long as people keep derailing threads, keep insulting other people, keep insulting volunteer betas, keep insulting Paradox, keep flaming everyone but their own mother, keep using foul language and generally keep behaving like an ass.

I will not stop. I will not falter. You're all - or mostly - adults. Adults should be able to engage in proper conversations, miffed though you may be. You are allowed to be angry, you are allowed to be disappointed. But even under those circumstances, I was taught to act properly and have a good chat about it.

The internet and message boards are not an excuse to vomit all your weekly frustrations behind a veil of anonimity. Call me a tyrant, call me a censor, call me a fascist or a communist. I do not care.

I will keep behaving like an ass, until you get the above points through your skull.
