As a note to anyone who may have seen my pitiful previous AAR attempts: they were not 100% my fault. Both of the games were broken for all practical purposes after 1 update each. Hopefully this will go longer.

Premise: A stupid little Atzec boy got lost at sea.

He is now in Europe.

He just happens to be ~200-300 years ahead of the rest of his crew.

Set-Up: Using the Ruler Designer, I will create a count-level Nahua noble, Catholic for gameplay purposes. It will be at the Stamford bridge date. I will be running SoI, LoR, and SI for this game, so a lot of extra possibilities are here. The county we will be using is Mortain, in Normandy. A direct vassal of William, we start "French" but could very easily transfer to English, or even Norwegian soon enough. Should be interesting. Also, he has no stats and starts out an Indulgent Wastrel. Here we go.

Goals:

1. Stay Nahua (Aztec)

2. Aztec-ify our realm, whatever that ends up being.

3. Aztec-ify Europe.

4. Beat the actual Aztec empire when it shows up.

5. If I survive long enough, convert to EU3 and Aztec-ify the world! :evillaugh:

I plan to do at least an update a week, covering a 10-year period or so. Even if that is one paragraph. If this goes a week without an update, please PM me unless I say so otherwise in the thread.

Images loading slow on my internet. Ugh.

Anyway-

Chapter 1
In Which The Bastard Wins Control of England, and the Nahua are Introduced

ck2_1.png

The year 1066 as a year of great change, marked by much good and bad. It was also the year in which a lone Nahua, or Aztec, sailor found himself unwittingly the count of a small Norman holding.

ck2_11.png

The county of Mortain was Norman, very similar to French, yet this young man was true to his roots. Apparently, he had crashed landed along with a handful of others, all the known ones were women at this time. Most were highly unremarkable, though one women was bright enough to marry this young count, and was soon with child.

ck2_6.png

Sadly, the young girl was extremely ugly. It would appear that looks didn't run in the family.

ck2_8.png

Now, on the larger scale, we see the direct lord of this Nahua, this Ozomatli, conquer England. William "the Bastard" turned into William "the Conqueror" by driving his armies deep into the heart of Saxon England, like a rusty dagger that is painful to the point of absurdity.

ck2_10.png

Now, in an interesting turn of events, the Norwegians still occupied large tracts of Northern England from their own invasion. And, curiously enough, they actual defeated the Normans at the 2nd Battle of Stamford Bridge, in which they were outnumbered about 1.75:1.

ck2_11.png

William was not deterred.

ck2_9.png

Back to the Nahua. In this short time, already the count was expecting another child.

ck2_13.png

While it turned out to be a boy, he was born with a stutter. Clearly, this family has some problems with genetics.

ck2_16.png

And here, we see the event that begins to shift the young Aztec towards his destiny. A very meh sailor, he was little better as a count. Here, he shows ambition, and determination.

ck2_17.png

It pays off.

ck2_20.png

While here, the count also begins to study philosophy and religion. He seems most intrigued by it.

ck2_21.png

This here is notable, as when the Normans withdrew from England, the king of France gained personal claims to the seceding counties.

ck2_24.png

On another note, he was expecting his third child already.

ck2_25.png

But then the strangest thing happens. The Saxon dukes rebel. It is almost as if they don't like being ruled by Frenchies!

ck2_28.png

Oh, this is interesting. Third time's a charm, and the count finally has a non-deformed child. Who knew?

/END

Any comments on how to actually do an AAR would be appreciated. I feel like I did very little writing, and lots of pictures. Is that good/bad/just a style?

Chapter 2
In Which the Nahua Relocate to Wales Amidst Internal English Strife

ck2_1.png

We open our second chapter on a declaration of war. The small count of Mortain was no longer happy simply with his lands in Mortain.

ck2_2.png

The decisive battle was a very small skirmish between a couple hundred men on each side, with the Nahua prevailed.

ck2_5.png

The county of Dyfed, in Wales, was quickly under their control.

ck2_6.png

Thus comes the death of King William the Conqueror. He eldest son, Richard, takes the throne. This does not help the Norman case for staying as kings very much.

ck2_7.png

ck2_9.png

And the Nahua clan continues to grow.

ck2_11.png

Until a second Welsh county may be claimed.

ck2_16.png

Quickly, the Aztec show their aggressive tendencies.

ck2_15.png

But is he still Nahua? Some would argue that he is changing to be Norman. No. They were wrong.

ck2_18.png

Child number 6 has arrived to the ever-fertile Nahua people.

ck2_19.png

Before it is discovered that the Norman king has been excommunicated by the Pope. The official records suggest that his own Uncle, the new duke of Normandy, had arranged for this.

ck2_20.png

And then France retaliates. With a full-blown succession crisis covering most of England, the French take this opportunity to take back the mainland provinces. Sadly, the home province of Mortain is included in this, and the Nahua are forced to flee to their Welsh holdings.

ck2_21.png

It doesn't appear to have affected them that much.

ck2_22.png

In fact, they decide to move onto their De Jure vassal.

ck2_23.png

During this war, the first son of Ozomatli died via disease, leaving only 5 children to take his place.

ck2_24.png

And his eldest child, his first daughter, returns from her tutelage. She returns as a Norman lesbian, of all things. Ozomatli has been put on the record as saying something along the lines of: "[CENSORED] Frenchies! What the [CENSORED] did they do to my [CENSORED] daughter! My own [CENSORED] daughter! What am I supposed to do with this [CENSORED]?!?"

Ahem. Moving on.

ck2_25.png

Her homosexuality clearly didn't affect the young Kaiser of the Holy Roman Emperor, who seemed just too happy to set up a betrothal between himself, and the very exotic young women.

ck2_28.png

And, finally, the Saxons show that no Norman can ever rule them for long.

ck2_30.png

You though we forget, didn't you? Well, no. It was discovered that the Welsh that consisted of the Nahua duchy didn't really like to fight for a foreigner. Without the support of Mortain, it didn't go as planned. Poor economic management meant that mercenaries had to be hired for a very short amount of time, in order to break down the siege barrier of Gwent. There was simply not enough Nahua to do it yet.

Yes, actually. That is one of the key goals, making the early Aztecs beat the real ones. Given my current location, that may or may not actually happen.

Chapter 3
In Which the Nahua Sailor Passes On

ck2_31.png

We open this chapter looking at the new vassal of the Nahua. Not content to allow the Welsh to remain in power, the Nahua attempted to imprison the Welshman.

They failed. This led to another long war, in which levies were too small to actually siege holdings.

ck2_34.png

In other news, studies show that hunting popularity has increased apporxiamtely 68.2%!

ck2_37.png

Ad the "Hashashin" are born somewhere out there.

ck2_1.png

Ah, here we go. Here, we see that the second daughter is married to the young King of Norway, heir of Harald the almost-conqueror.

ck2_2.png

And the count himself is captured in a tiny skirmish. This ends the small civil war for a while.

ck2_4.png

ck2_5.png

A troop of knights shows up in Dyfed, showing how just and gregarious the Nahua can be.

ck2_6.png

ck2_7.png

ck2_8.png

Suddenly, some oddly familiar merchant shows up. He looks....huh. Tough to say. No one quite recognizes him. Nevertheless, he leaves the people with grand tales, and a random eunuch. Greek one at that.

ck2_10.png

And the first Nahua noble dies of "natural causes" at the age of 41.

she looks quite... manly, if that's the right word :p

Given that she is lesbian, that might actually be accurate. :p

I'm intrigued to see this play out... Looks fun so far, any plans to form wales?

Would have already actually, had Wales not required a Celtic culture. Ireland here I come!

This is awesome! Im following :)

Thanks!

@ All-

Update tomorrow most likely. Assuming I don't procrastinate or anything. :p

Any comments on how to actually do an AAR would be appreciated. I feel like I did very little writing, and lots of pictures. Is that good/bad/just a style?

Its a perfectly legitimate style choice.

Yup. I do it that way much of the time. I just try to make the few words as meaningful as possible (if possible, and if not, then I just make them straightforward) and use the screenshots in a "whaam" fashion, sometimes in-your-face, sometimes a nice view. You seem to be doing it the same way, a good example being your, "finally, the count has a non-deformed child," moment. This is basically similar to making a comic book, I guess.

I'd just like to point out quickly that you're going to have to go into the console, mod or savefile and change the culture of your province to Nahua if you wish to spread your culture to the rest of your kingdom. Otherwise, interesting AAR. Could use a little more writing but that's of course a style choice.
