My humblest apologies Mr Ebbesen. Thanks for the support and the suggestions.
MrT, well, the opening shot of bacardi really messed me up for a long while. After mixing it, I was sick a few times, yet felt much better, so I carried on playing. As you'll see, however, it pretty much dominated the next Steppe (tm)
_______(By the way, as a disclaimer, I played this some time the night before last, after I got back home from the pub, so it wasn't just the bacardi that was messing me up. It might also explain some of the dumb-ass decisions I made)
Music: The lord of the rings soundtrack was getting a tad repetative, so turfed it out of the CD player slipped in a self-mixed CD with songs ranging from 'A' to 'Jack Off Jill' to 'New Found Glory' to 'Electrasy' and back again. But then, I'm showing off more of me than I like by saying that

(<- me trying to use up my smiley count)
Drink: Since this is still the same session, I'm still working on my 4th Lowenfink by this point. Still no hint of a Smithwicks out there though. Stupid country and its stupid suppliers.
TV: My mind can only latch onto so many things at once, so once again, I skipped the TV part.
Mood: Quesy
Suspiciously, the Steppe is heralded by another converted province in September of 1590. I frown at the monitor and mumble incoherantly for a few minutes (I actually wrote that in my notes, oddly enough) until the computer throws a few more revolts my way. bah.
Anyway, with Mekran now happily Sunni, this leaves me 1 Orthodox and 2 Shi'ite provinces left...and four Hindu, and 6 Buddhist. Sob.
As I detailed in the last Steppe, my annexation of my last vassal left
sans alies, so, I figure its time to cast around for a new buddy or buddies. Through a foggy alcoholic haze, I see I have two choices:
Mamuluks:-
Pros: Strong, powerful, large
Cons: I intend to expand in their direction, low tech, surrounded by enemies, hate me
Ottodudes:-
Pros: Advanced, comparitively great leaders, possible vassals, good position to strike at Egyptians
Cons: Small (restricted largely to their peninsula and a weak hold on Europe), embroiled in European wars often
I choose Turkey.
1593, I manage to catch a glimspe of my new years taxes: 463. Heh. Half of that immediately goes to missionarys. I concentrate mostly on the Shi'ite and Orthodox now as the Hindu and Buddhist provinces have an obscenely success rate (about 8%) and enormous costs.
My colonisation drive gains another boost as a conquistador makes himself available. In a alcohol-addled moment of drunkeness, I send him marching across India. He gets from Moscow (where he was found) all the way to Fars before I catch the bugger and aim him for Siberia with instructions 'not to stop till you drop'
Good grief, I crack me up.
However, as his first act in unclaimed territory, he loses all but 22 of his brave men to reckless natives. The surrounding provinces immediately begin a plans to start churning out soldiers to escort him in these obviously dangerous expediations.
In 97' (i had no idea it was that late already), an heir is born. I bet we don't see him, eh?

My current monarch, Sayyid or something, has been ruling for quite some time, about 80 years or so Ibelieve and from the looks of things, it doesn't look like he's giving up the throne any time soon.
To top off the end of a somewhat successful Steppe, Bastar spontanuously converts. Probably because they're bored with me periodically sending over missionaries
Thats it for today, I've played through another couple of steppes, but ti gets pretty grim from here on in, as i concentrate on colonising. So maybe I'll do a 3-in-1 bundle tomorrow sometime? Geh.
Expect some screenies (PE stylee) tomorrow. Cheers all and thanks for reading
