Hi,

first thing is, i love CK2. Even SoI is fabulous. But it does not really fit with the Horde. I am playing in approx 1350. The Horde has 300k Men at Arms, the Ilkhanate just 100k, the problem is, that of course they have Byzantium, Cuman and most of the seljuk areas (compared to the holdings in a fresh start of the game). So they are more than just settled down. They even had succession problems. So they are a "normal" Kingdom/Empire now. But they still do not suffer a penality for their big 70k Army stacks. So even though that my realm and aliies outnumber the ilkhanate five to six times, we have no chance to beat a 70k stack.

Is this meant to be?
If so.. please change this.

you can try sending armies at it from all neighbouring provinces ...you will lose a few times but eventually you will defeat them and they wont come back

Yap I tried the last one. Sendeing Armies from the surroundings. This is also no easy to time. Especially that "Doom-Stack" usually does not tend to hold still..

In my game I am working on the Solution to include the Golden Horde as my ally. This will work as long I get the timing done. But in my humble opinion this is just a workaround and does not solve the problem itself.

After the Hordes settle down the Doomsday Stack should be split and suffer every penality like mine.

Any of them converted already? Or remains Tengri? Maybe you can form alliance with one of them, then use call to arms to make your ally crush the other horde. It will certainly be easier if they have different religion

The best way to is to lure a doomstack to a coastal county since you don't suffer attrition while in ships. Have one army as bait in the county as large as the province can hold with another larger army on ships. Time it so that your army arrives in the province the day after the doomstack does.

The Idea with the coast area and providing an Army by ship is interesting, even though in my case it its practically not possible to lure the doomsday stacks to the coast, because they absolutely have no reason to go to a coastal aera, because the boarders to ilkhanate and golden horde are all inlands.

FYI both hordes are greek orthodox at the moment. The ally idea came to me, too. So i managed to form a alliance with the golden horde, and called a jihad (its good to be king, but better to be king and religious leader at one :) ) on Mesopotamia. Called in the Horde (700g costs it to send a gift), and they practically did the whole rest for me. Now the Ilkhanate was beaten, so I could manage to crush the rest to peaces. Now still the horde is left with 300k men at arms and 100k doomsday stacks without suffering any penalities. I fear, there wont me a method to beat that stack. It even regenerates massive ammounts of soldiers every month, so there is no hope, that someday it will be "used up". And to be honest, I was more than lucky to be ex-Emir of Medina and now Shia Calif and Sultan of almost everything down under.

This cannot be, what the programmers wanted. I still would like to see those Doomsday Stack suffer penalities after a certain ammount of time.

In my current game the Ilkhanate has attrition now, the year is 1400 though. I'm not sure when it changes but 30k stack of theirs was clearly suffering attrition while in the east part of Armenia. I don't think the Mongols should be immune to attrition but be able to supply more men in provinces, just cap it at a higher number

There is an important difference. Troops that are newly raised by the hordes do suffer from attriction. But the old stacks do not, AND they to not let other troops supper. An example: An old 30k doomsday Stack stands on an 10k freshly raised ilkhanate army and merges. This stacks to 40k, but can walk trough an area with support for 12k armies without attriction.

That sucks. Even though I tend to understand that the freshy raised horde troops have 10% higher area supply as racial bonus. That wont be taken into account, but I am nearing my game to the year 1400 and some areas have 30k support. So there would be 3k bonus anyway.

Its still neccessary to impletent attriction to these doomsday stacks after a certain point in the game (thats to be discussed, i'd say, it has to suffer as soon as a predefined Area is conquered, and it has to be sure, that this area is taken first by the AI).
