If the USSR goes with that deal and is allowed, the game soon takes a sharp turn to Fantasyland. Why not, next time China might make peace with everyone and join Allies. US can join Axis for no apparent reason, just for the heck of it. UK is in the brink of extinction? No worries, Germany will suddenly abandon her imperialistic aims and join the Commonwealth. Hey, let's throw a reborn Italian empire in it, and why not an alien attack just to liven things up a bit.
Booing how we are going to destroy him? What can I do. We allies have been called cheap-lame-evil-honourless-traitors-backstabbers for weeks, because our most heinous crime has been accepting Turkey into the alliance. Germany the honourable, however, can make a treaty ten times worse than our alleged 'backstabs' and picture the Allies like a bunch of coward halfwits.
Germany, you are the best. You can single-handedly win against the whole world with a single unbrigaded militia division. That's what you want to hear? There it is. I didn't chicken out. I quit the game. If it means that I chickened out for you, I don't care. It's a game. Or, it's supposed to be one. I have been called a lame backstabbing traitor for weeks, for a country I wasn't even supposed to play. It gets on your nerves.
Alright. Have fun playing alone.
In fact, there was a rule about Italy having to join the Axis, which *I*, the treacherous backstabbing UK, pointed out. But the host, i.e. Germany, says it's not his responsibility to know everyone's rules, which makes as much sense as saying it's not his responsibility to host a game. Even if Italy did not join the Axis, it did help Germany with rares and (the rules forbid that too, but if it's the German host doing this, there's no problem apparently) units selling.
As for Japan, I don't consider it an anomaly: it surrendered. The Japanese mainland was almost devoid of divisions. There was really nothing left for the Japanese player to do. Two carriers, the bulk of his army (30 out of 50 divisions) in some Pacific atoll, India swamped with British divisions. You know, you can, sometimes, lose: you admit it. It's a game, there's nothing wrong with it. This miracle of Brandenburg re-enaction is utter nonsense.
Practically, Italy was at war with Germany. We could've invaded anytime. Instead, we agreed to be nice and wait till 27th January 1943. Germany was a walking corpse, saved only by our fair play. Now Germany boasts about defeating everyone thanks to the USSR ditching the European theater. We are the backstabbing traitors, so they say.
It's only one game DvD, no need to get angry at me for playing Germany.
If you think my propaganda was specifically meant to insult you and the Allies personally, that was not the reason. I actually made different kinds of updates, than the classic pic & pic + explanation.
If my AAR updates hurt you physically or mentally in any way, I'm deeply sorry, and I hope you will be able to see the difference between AAR updates and real life comments someday.
And I won't be playing the game alone. The game will be played by 4 people, who actually play the game for the reason it's meant to be: Fun. Not insulting others and bringing hard feelings to the game.
You Allies banned several guys from the game thanks to the mass, formed the mass Allies, which had a serious impact on the form of the game, and then finally decided to mass drop from the game. I have never seen anything like that in Hearts of Iron multiplayer, and it seems to be a shame for every person on the forum, that 15 people can't just sit and play multiplayer for fun.
This has mostly drained all my energy and inspiration to organize any Hearts of Iron MP games in the future, because it seems that people never change, or the worst people just happen to mass join the games, and then later mass drop them, and get the AAR thread banned 3 times.
Now I'm not some Hearts of Iron saint, and I've done my share of mistakes too. But I have never abandoned the game, in which I have promised to commit to, nor I have specifically meant to insult any player. If I have hurt any of you people at all, I'm most sorry for it. But this kind of childish behaviour is one of the greatest reasons, why people see multiplayer in such negative light. So I hope that someday you will actually think what stuff comes out of your mouth, thanks.
So if you wish me luck to play 'alone', you have made your participation of the game clear enough. So if you are forced to hang around the thread, please stick with regular comments, and avoid bringing anymore hard feelings to the thread, until someone says something that can't be taken back.
Update #2 coming in a few days, after I return from my cousins. Soviet-German war coming in 1948.
