Cool idea, though...if you split the Kingdom of Rus, you should add an Empire of Rus

Hi!
Just wondering, will this be a balancing mod or what exactly is the advantage of this mod? Because it seems very ahistorical.
Except of Bavaria (and this only since 1801) none of these kingdoms existed. Also Bavaria is much to huge.

I was thinking of trying to do something very similar to this mod, but the names i was going to go with were a little different and the areas of some as well.
i would suggest the creation of a few empire level titles. like an empire of spain encompassing leon castille aragon and al-andalus called the "high king of spain". also maybe instead of Occitaina you could divide france into three king level titles of "high duke"(france toulouse aquitaine) or something along those lines and create the empire level "king of france" that would encompass the three high dukes, brittany, and burgundy. oh and i would name the new kings in germany "high duke", "arch duke" and stuff like that.

actually these divisions would be much closer to historically accurate. the hre was notoriously incapable of controlling its members to the point that many were for all intents and purposes independent. and in france at certain periods much the same was true. plus iberia really needs a way to actually form spain without rebellions every month.... or week.

These divisions would be nowhere near historical accuracy during this timeframe. There had never been a kingdom of Brandenburg (Prussia was created in 1701, not 1066), nor a kingdom of Swabia (there was a Kingdom of Württemberg in 1806, but never a kingdom of Schwaben) or Upper Saxony (Hannover would be the closest you'd get to this, and this wasn't until 1814). Ludwig the German had briefly called him "King of the Bavarians", but after that there wasn't a Kingdom Bayern/Bavaria until 1806. In addition to the borders of these kingdoms being historically nonsensical for the most part. The HRE's members were mostly independent, yes, but this would be represented by a minimal or low crown authority and not by the amount of extra kingdoms added in. If anything this should be represented by making the passing of higher crown laws incredibly difficult. Spain during this time frame was a constant mess of rebellions and clashes between Muslims and Christians and only in the mid-13th to 15th century did the Christians get their act together; "Spain" wasn't even formed within the era this game spans.

Once I get the mod into place I will ask pfried if I can include part of his Empires Everywhere mod.

Hi!
Just wondering, will this be a balancing mod or what exactly is the advantage of this mod? Because it seems very ahistorical.
Except of Bavaria (and this only since 1801) none of these kingdoms existed. Also Bavaria is much to huge.
Lotharingia existed as the middle kingdom after the division of Charlemagne's empire.
As for the german kingdoms I modeled them after the early stem duchies of the HRE with some modifications as some of them are too small to make sense as kingdoms in the game (most would be 1-2 duchies in size if they were all included).
Also since I didn't want to alter the borders of the duchies in the game because I don't really want it to effect gameplay that much the borders vary more than they otherwise would.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Central_Europe,_919-1125.jpg

I never intended this to be "historical", the aim is to divide Germany into several smaller kingdoms simply for gameplay purposes. Since this is a historical game though, I tried to find more-or-less suitable names and borders for the kingdoms rather than just making "generic kingdom 1 2 and 3"

if you will reread my post you will see that i didnt claim them to be strictly historically accurate, i stated that they would be somewhat closer to historically accurate. and no, none of them really existed at the time though most existed at some time in some form, thus making them good blueprints for kingdom level titles. plus this game isnt supposed to continue strictly historically after you start. the pont is to forge a strong dynasty and get high score. what better way to do that than to prematurely execute the reconquista or break away from the hre with your political block.
also they dont have to be ACTUAL kingdoms the title arch duke would be accurate for some and historically many arch dukes were on a par with kings.

So first version is ready. Thanx to John Forseti for doing half the job for me!

Now I just have to find somewhere to upload it.

Still can't decide whether to call the green-ish kingdom Brandenburg or Upper Saxony. Then ofc I'd have to change what is now called Saxony to Lower Saxony as well.
