The game won't launch

Hello,

I have problems launching both CK2 and EU4. When I try to launch the games through steam, the launcher window almost opens but then it disappears and nothing happens. I have tried reinstalling both games by manually deleting every file and then, when the game is reinstalled, validating it through steam. Doesn't work. I've also tried to reinstall my whole computer (the reset option in windows 8). I've also tried all the common fixes you can find through a google search. Nothing of this works.

What really baffles me is that the games won't launch even after a complete reset of windows 8.

Please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Europa Universalis IV\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010\ and run dxsetup.exe
Please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Europa Universalis IV\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2010\ and run vcredist.exe
Please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Europa Universalis IV\DotNet\4.0 Client Profile\ and run dotNetFx40_Client_x86_x64.exe

If that doesn't help, please try installing ALL of these Microsoft modules:

Then http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=8328
Then: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
