SEE this is what im looking for. AN ACTUAL conversation. NOT JUST "U R STUPID LOL BAN"

WHY ShOULD castille ALWAYS get ARAGON? WHY CANT ANYONE ELSE GET THE PU??? WOULDnT THAT MAKE FOR MORE intereSTING games EVEN IF they ARENT "historical" (lol who plays this game to copy history?)

Firstly, Castile doesn't "ALWAYS get ARAGON;" as you said yourself, you have to play through about 5 or 6 times to get it.
Secondly, who else would get the PU? France? Haha. I think you're confusing historical accuracy with historical plausibility - because anyone other than Castile getting the PU is kinda ridiculous.
Thirdly, you seem to think that anything supporting your claims is intelligent discussion and anything refuting them is "U R STUPID LOL BAN"

k castille should just start with aragon under PU then why not? or atleast there should be a message at the game start that you will get it.
and every game i have played, which is many, castille eventually gets it, and eventually the king of burgundy dies.

THERE was ONLY one game in like 1.2 or 1.3, WHERE CASTILLE said NO to the event.
what a laugh

the thing is when it happens almost every single game when u arent playing castille, it had sure as hell be guaranteed to fire when u are playing castille. DO YOU PEOPLE NOT REALIZE HOW MUCH TIME GOES INTO ONE GAME OF PLAY, EVEN JUST TO GET TO THE POINT WHEN IBERIAN WEDDING IS POSSIBLE??? freemiumware that costs money for the original watch the south park episode thats exactly what this game is and we are all addicts.

someone clarify for me: is this a bot? what did that even mean. it looks like an advertisement subliminally put into it, for south park??

Also, it fired for me every play through.

I don't think so. South park is much more popular than EU4, that someone inserting advertisement of the former in the forum of the latter is almost unthinkable.

Everyone can get PU over everyone. It's just the Iberian wedding triggering only for Castille over Aragon.

Also, the general pattern of EU4 is more railroading (Iberian wedding, Commonwealth forming, Burgundy Inheritance, and you get all your NIs in the first 3/8 of the game) for early game and less (Protestant league is dynamic, revolution is dynamic, etc) for late game.

so whats ur point? just because cyprus could *maybe* get a PU over france, that means castille should be gaurenteeed PU over aragon every game?
JUST MAKE IT EVERY GAME OR VERY RARE, plz

My point is early game railroading is an integral part of EU4...

Well, actually I don't agree with this policy either. But the better alternative (generalize the event so Iberian Wedding can still happen but similar events can also trigger when similar conditions happen) requires much more researching and engineering efforts, so much that I'd be content with what we have now.

I think what he's saying goes more along the lines of if they gave him a choice he'd choose universal application of 'wedding' events, but he is not overly bother by the fact that such events don't exist and he would rather have paradox focus on things closer to his heart like, for example, bug fixes.

The reason it is an event, is for basically, flavor purposes.

Are you going to have anyone inherit Burgandy now? And if Portugal takes china, form QING?

Iberian Wedding is specifically 100% iberian...
That being said. It is not 100% certain because some people like to play as Aragon.. Lol

So, as long as aragon avoids the conditions, they can have a large chance of avoiding the event itself. And that is by design, the purpose of the possibility of its failure to fire.

It only seems to happen in 60% of my games. This seems better than always or never, means that each game will likely follow history, but has a strong possibility of being different.

Just play the game. If you're looking for a perfect set of events, you're going to be sorely disappointed. And besides, non-determinism is what makes the game fun. When something cool happens, like a PU, it's that much more satisfying.

THAT IS PART OF THE Problem right there.... IF IT IS purely IBERIAN.... WHY CANT portugal or ARAGON get the PU????

Some level of historical plausibility is good. I usually like to compete against the historical major powers, because it just feels more satisfying than competing against the random nations. Besides strong Spain is important for the sake of the balance of power in Europe.

I like the events how they are now, because if it would happen 100% of time then there would be no possibility of alternative history. And more importantly Iberian wedding would become basis of players' strategies as Castile. People would stop planning how to conquer Aragon, but instead they would just wait for the event to fire. On the other hand if the event would be removed then the formation of AI Spain would be too rare, which would mean that France is even more dominant.

You know there are other ways to make it happens!!! Ways that are seemingly more controversial then "consoling" and save game editing combined...!!!
Yes thats right I am talking about the ultimate heresy of choosing a start date, thats not Nov. 11. 1444, there I said it.
If you go to 1460-1480 something Castile will have Isabel as queen and Aragon in a PU.
Of course if you wanna role play as a wedding planer you can always do a new restart at the righteous starting date, Nov. 11. 1444!

it's mostly frustrating because it's such a huge game-changer. Aragon starts off about as strong as you do, and if they ally france or someone, you're basically screwed. Whereas, if you actually get the pu, you basically double in strength right then and there.

I disagree that it shouldn't be an event though. The iberian wedding isn't "just another pu". It's one of the most historically significant events of the entire period, and signalled the birth of the modern nation of spain. It should however be much more frequent.

this!!!

Through my king's sheer strength of will, the might of the Castilian armada and the backing my stalwart Burgundian allies Spain will be forged and joined and beaten into shape my means of force, steel and blood. The war will be long and hard, but when the dust settles, only when the wailing of mothers for their dead sons turn into quiet sobs, only when the grass of the smoldering battlefield turns red with the blood of the dead and dying French and Aragonese soldiers, only when the fires of war become so shot that not even man can stand to be near them. Only then will Spain rise, like a phoenix in all its glory and might and fire to reign down upon her rivals and enemies. Who needs the iberian wedding, I choose bloodshed and misery instead.

p.s The event never fired for me either
