I intend to play with my brother, as Germany and Italy. Hopefully we'll take more than 2 months to conquer all Europe....

If you want a challenge then why not play against your brother? Have him be the USSR or if he is really bad the USA.

Nice idea, but my brother weights 200 kg and have 196 cm. A brazilian version of Obelix, and he plays less than 1 meter from me.

I'm intimidated? 'Course not.... 300 spartans beaten the persians at thermopylae, don't they? But Obelix was not persian... :)

The Spartans did not actually win at Thermopylae...its sort of like saying the Texans wooped Santa Anna at the Alamo or the British victory at Isandwana.

The Greeks just had a much better propoganda machine than Xerxes :D

I know that, it was just an example.... a traitor told the persians how to outflank the spartans.... no problem they all got killed, it was a victory for the greek propaganda.....

No comparsion between this and the alamo, those greeks saved our civ.... :)

Well, it's the Spartans who are remembered at Thermopylae, not the Athenians.
And the Athenian propaganda machine you speak of was mainly a 19th century British thing...

This is all I'll say on this before I hijack the thread too badly...

The Athenians were the original propoganda masters... fake documents+monuments created decades+centuries later, incredibly biased accounts, etc, etc. The Athenians had a very real misinformation streak... hell, today, when something is dug or found in a Greek city, it is carefully, carefully, carefully examined for inconsitencies and anachronism in language because so many ancient frauds have been found already, primarily to serve Athenian interests... If the Athenians and their writers are to be believed, their Delian league was just a group of free cities, not an Athenian Empire subject to complete Athenian control...

You vastly overestimate the difference the difficulty level makes.

Actually, the parallels are rather strong in terms of the immediate effects. In both cases, a weak force held up a much stronger force in a suicidal defensive stand, and their comrades elsewhere used the time thus gained to good effect in terms of organizing - resulting in the "strong" side getting pasted in the end.

Hello,

So the AI at the harder levels is just a better AI? Is that what it is? Does it uses and protects its assets better etc...?

What I do not want is an the difficulty level that cheats in the Combat system or production. I guess I do not mind a cheat in the production a little, but not the combat syste, I hate that junk.

Anyway so the AI is much better player at the harder levels?

Thanks.
