The game is on pre-order already

I saw the game on pre-order on several websites. It goes for 39.99 but more interestingly it's slated to release on the 10th of January.

PS: sorry if this was announced but it's new to me.

Yeah, I saw it over on GamersGate. This raises an important question:

Why are Neocore and Paradox bothering to sell KA2 on anything but Steam? Patches for non-Steam versions of Neocore games are either extremely late, or worse; nonexistent. It just seems like offering non-Steam versions is just a quick way to make people angry.

The keys to the beta are not out. There are a few people that had a key from earlier that has access to the game. Info will be emailed out the the betas when it's ready.

They probably should just allow other distributor to sell the key to the steam version, like shogun 2 total war or deux ex 3 did on gamersgate, this way people can buy the game everywhere yet everyone will have the same version and patched in time and over time (it seems updates on other distributor than steam were stopped on ka1)

Game looks awesome, will be pre-ordering for sure. Have nearly finished ka1 for the second time, so the storyline will be fresh.

Pre ordered on steam a few minutes , it was 10% off and apparently it comes with something called dead legions which is a prologue.

I am considering getting this game as it looks pretty cool. If it were a Steam exclusive however, I wouldn't consider it whatsoever.

There are a fair number of other people that think the same way I do so it behooves Neocore and Paradox to offer it without Steam.

If Neocore is slow to patch non-Steam versions though, it certainly makes me hesitate. So, I do understand your point.

Its more than slow, its been 5-6 month that non steam users are waiting for the 1.07 patch for K.A 1. In my case I bought K.A2 from gamersgate again because I actually like their service (other than what happened with k.a) and hoping naively that the same thing wont happen with this sequel.
