Ok, sorry about the wait, thanks to a game crash, outdated mods, and me not being very smart and not saving every now and then i lost several hours of work, I've tried to put some of it back in the past few days, however I haven't had much time, anyways here it goes, what will become the city of Rockfield.
We'll be starting out with Riverview, a small river side town (Pop ~3000) on the border of the fictional state of Kensington, on the North Eastern coast of the United States. Riverview was founded in 1963 as an affordable alternative to the city life of the nearby Rockfield city. It still has a long way to go, and is lacking in several areas. I'd like to sort of test out an idea (not my idea, I originally got it from the infrastructurist (I wanted to make a youtube series too, but I can't pull 30 fps while recording and I refuse to lower my graphics or get rid of the mods I know for a fact are making it run so poorly (like advanced ai)) where you guys are the city council, and depending on how well this one goes, I'll see about doing one every update (which should be about once a week), your votes will be tallied via a Strawpoll link which will be the last part in every update, if it does well.
(note that alot of stuff wont be shown in the pictures below until the second update, as I lost the detail work I did on them)
Overhead view of the town:
A view down Main St. in downtown Riverview, its nothing much, mainly old 2-3 story buildings, home to most of the towns shops, mainly lower to mid middle upper class shops, but theres a few nicer shops in there too. Most of the business in Riverview is locally owne by some of the towns founding members, however some from out of state has made it in too (NY eye Care for example).
This is the Highschool, it currently holds about 700 students, and is fairly basic, it lacks a running track, football field, and baseball diamond, but does relatively well in the core classes.
The industrial zone, not much here besides pollution, sub-par work environments, and most of the jobs in town:
The Town Hall, constructed 2 years after the towns founding due to funding issues:
A small trailer park next to the Industrial area, not the ideal place ot live, but on the bright side, its dirt cheap, and you'll have a very short commute:
And finally for this week's poll, the city would like to build a park next to the new elementary school (see picture below). It will cost about 13,000 Cimoleons and could cost upwards of 100 Cim. per week in Upkeep. On one hand, it could really improve land value in the area, and wouldnt require the demolition of the homes on the block, on the other hand, another developer wants to buy out the remainder of the block (not occupied by the school) and build some Lower-Upper Class Duplexes, however this would require the demolition of the homes already on the block. and finally, some people think the park is to expensive and dont want people kicked out just to build new homes over their current ones, They would like to just leave the block as it is for now. Vote here.
The block if the homes get built:
You'll have to use your imagination for the park because I usually just freehand those and itd be very hard for me to recreate it once I show it to you guys
Town Stats:
and here's some areas I detailed after work today:
The private school (this one was really light on details so i may come back later):
The Police Station:
and finally, a 2 block land re-vitalization project just outside downtown:
