Hey guys,

So, i'm having a great game as France and I think world domination might be doable. It's only 1600 and I've completely removed and anexed England + severely cripled every single other european power. My nation is a huge Blob and I have around 40% of Spain as my pet Aragon. The HRE Throne is well within my grasp, and from the HRE, the world is but a small step. With no Spain, no England, and no HRE the only serious opposition left is Russia and Ottomans, but by the time I get there I will have already annexed the whole Europe.

I know the French Revolution is coming, and I've never played this chain of events before. Since this is an Ironman game, there is no room for mistakes. So, I don't care about spoilers, can someone please answer a couple of questions, such as:

- Does France always becomes a Revolutionary Empire if the Revolution is victorious?
- Does the Imperialism CB speed up world domination OR "Burn the Heretics"/any other CB is just as good?
- Can I become a Rev. Empire/Rev. France without losing the French Revolution?
- Is there any chance Rev. France becomes a republic?
- Bottom line: considering that I intend to paint the world blue, what is the best course of action regarding the French Revolution events?
- Have any of you guys got the World Conquest achievement as France? Can you give me any tips (other than vassal feeding, which I've been doing).

Well, for one it's impossible to become a Revolutionary Empire in-game; it can only be done by starting the game after 1804. The French Revolution is simply a series of events that can occur at any point after 1740 provided your country meets the requirements (i.e. having 25+ loans), and turns your nation into a Revolutionary Republic with the Rev. France tag. I've never handled the event sequence myself, so I couldn't provide any advice there. Perhaps you should start a game as France at the Fall of the Bastille bookmark to test it?

I have never done it, such a weird requirement.

Still it should be easy enough for a good power, just save take our the loans, switch and pay them back.

Went through and had a look at the event triggers because I was curious. Basically, if you're a major western power after 1740 with 25+ loans and 5+ WE, there's an event with a MTTH of 360 months (30 years) that sets off the revolution. If you have positive stability,it doubles the time for the event. When it does occur, it adds the country flag "Revolution" and removes 3 stability; setting off a chain of events that can turn you into the revolutionary republic of Rev. France, assuming you let the rebels occupy your capital.

Overall, if you want to continue expanding unheeded, your best bet is simply to stay at at least +1 stability after 1740 (the higher the stability the less likely the event is to fire) and don't take out loans if you can avoid it. If you want to have amore interesting game, take the loans, make sure you have the WE, and stay at 0 stab.

Well, the main incentive for letting the rebels win is getting access to the imperialism CB, which allows you to take ALL their stuff for 50% AE. Seems like an awesome deal, especially considering I have religious ideas as well. Still, the French revolution is at least 140 years away atm. I intend to be done with europe by the time we get there. I just dipplo-vassalized Scotland but my plans to claim the HRE are being thwarted atm due to a series of punitive coalition wars against me (which I've been winning pretty much unscathed, but still the AI keeps trying). My bad reputation made it as far as Lithuania. I think I can take the fact that Lithuania took over as war leader on the last coalition war as a sign that I've already wrecked everyone else who would be war leader.
