Earlier I had asked for help with determining whether or not I should invade the Mamluks as Provence. I wanted to share an update on my new game as Provence.

Overall it was a pretty fun game.

I am the King of Kings and own the Ark of the Covenant as Revolutionary France.

Unfortunately I found out that the Crusader State Reform is locked to Jerusalem so I could not have a Crusader State France. Pretty sad about that.

I do not think that Provence is a better start than France despite getting modifiers that France cannot have France's starting development is just too important.

But it was fun collecting PUs then shifting those PUs into a Crusade then deciding who cares about the Pope and faith and declaring a revolution.

Strategy is:

Starting as Provence look to get your mission for cores on Naples before Naples is released. Then join the HRE by allying Austria. Your first war should be supporting France for Favors. Second war is declaring on Naples the day they become independent. Often times this is during the conclusion of the 100 years war. After Naples use France to invade Aragon. After Aragon get Hungary when Austria will not join. After Hungary things diverge. I allied Spain and got France in a PU by getting both Austria and Spain's help. If Burgundy has not yet been integrated into France and it is before 1500 make sure you royal marry Burg for the potential for another PU. With France on my side then I retook the holy land starting with Cyprus by declaring on Genoa or fabricating on Tunis. Then I took The Mamluk's land. I first blocked off the Ottomans then took most of the Mamluks. Once I felt Confident enough I declared on the Ottomans and formed Jerusalem. IMO their ideas are better than Provence and France's so I kept their ideas.
