Thanks, Joe. And welcome back, HG I. Like I said earlier, your character would be great for wandering around campfires and learning about the other characters -- like a biographer.

Anyway, here's a map of the current situation. The town/village names where the Spahis are located are hard to make out, so either make up your own or take a crack at deciphering one. Just make sure everyone's on the same page. :)

The advancement in dates coincides fairly accurately with the distances on the map. I'm assuming infantry travelling 20 miles a day. I know it's a stretch for a medieval army (more like 12 miles a day), but I wanted to keep it simple. So, going by that logic, the FC is about 5 days from Nissa, if they decide to detour... ;)

Wasn't Nissa a Roman outpost at one time? Or am I remembering incorrectly?

From what i read, am I right in my post to assume the Light troops are still half a day away from the Turks. And btw, what are spahis cavalry? I will confess right now i know almost next to nothing about Turkish units of that time. Is there any websites where I can find out a little more about the Turks army of that time?

The Spahis were considered the elite Turkish cavalry units. They were landowners who typically wore chainmail and used a lance, scimitar & bow as weapons.

Amric, it's a possibility. I have some of my own ideas, though I can guess yours. Send me an e-mail, or PM.

Arrg. You got me contradicting myself. Let's assume Pasha moved across river when the messenger arrived about Hunyadi. To be honest, I can't remember when I wrote the post, but I know that TV was a wasteland last night. :)

Sorry I've not been around this week. Been busy, and had a dodgy connection for some reason.

I'll get something up today.

So which is it then :D??

Did they start on the same side, and then moved to opposite sides? or did they start on opposite sides and are now on the same?

For now, I'll go with the map?

PM on your way btw.

Man, you're like a mother hen. :D

They started on opposite sides, and sometime after the messenger arrived to tell Pasha of Hunyadi's march he crossed over, so the map is now correct. Clear? ;)

Christ! Give you mod powers and you become the resident pain-in-the-ass!!! :D :D

stnylan, don't worry, we've been going through our mid-season slowdown.

Gerd/Oskar post up. I think it says what I want it to. I was a little uncertain about what the infantry would know, so I've left it open whether the anticipation is because they are marching to link up with Hunyadi or anything else.
