2 years, great, congrats everyone.

I'd like to add my name to the long list of people sorry they haven't posted more recently. I've started a lot of posts, but I always stop half way through and think that I'm being incredibly repitive from my last post. I just can't find all that much to do around the camp and on the march.

That's a lot of written material for a two year span, that's for sure. I estimate it to be roughly 7 - 8 novels worth. Geez, that's even more prodigious than Stephen King. :)

I have a post planned that will take place around the 25th of the month. It will be designed to get people away from the marching and camping and lead up to some conflict.

I will post it tomorrow, in case anyone has something in the works.

JM, Belgrade will play an important part, soon.

Vald, I agree in part, but in Book I & II there was a lot of downtime between action and the writers managed to explore their characters quite well.

Still, I'm committed to finishing it, even if I do it with one or two stragglers... ;)

Wait for me! :)

Exam over. Good news is if I do as well as I expected, I'll flunk out of school and have much more free time. Post(s?) coming up. Thanks for the hooks.

I read all the gloom and all the good and I agree a bit with both sides. Perhaps what we can do is to play out this book. We can move it along fairly quickly with just the hard core writers (all others are very welcome to join in as much as they want!). Then, we could migrate the FC saga to the new book -- there will of course be a need for a Free Company in the nineteenth century!

Think of a nineteenth century captain and his men toting rifles, fighting for Queen and country wherever the need arises...

Hehe Stroph, I had already envisioned the Free Company as merc's pioneers explorers or soemthing in the deeps of Africa on pay from the Belgian King :D (like in RL)

LD, yeah, perhaps book one and two were like that, and I agree there was more interaction in book four, *shrug* duno then :)

Well, from what i understand, these kinds of slowdowns tends to happen, especially when there is little action. There's not much that can be written especially after 5 books. But once there's action, things should pick up. Remember Book V. We had a bit of a slow down as well but once the Battle of Cremona, things picked up fairly quickly so i am not too worried.

But it's true that we are plagued by a lack of new writers. Since I have joined the FC half a year ago, there have only been a handful of other writers who joined up after me. But still whatever happen, even with just the old writers, there are still a number of writers to keep the FC going, I hope cause I have no wish to see this end.

But then again, having a version of the FC in the Victoria boards will be interesting. At least we can ensure a influx of new writers since Vicky is a new game. Maybe we can even do both FC and Vicky at the same time. :D

That's assuming everyone will buy Vicky, right? ;)

A version of the FC would work great in CK, though. :)

My timeline advancement post will be up in a couple of hours...

It's a collaborative writing venture where you create a character, or characters in some cases, and interact with the other writers. Your best bet is to read the very first post in this thread. That will supply you with the groundrules. The keys here are interact and stay within the spirit of the storyline.

It would be nice to have you aboard. However, I've had two on-line queries and three off-line queries recently and not one has gone on to take up the challenge. They usually get cold feet when they find out how fast paced and complicated the story-telling can become. :) In other words, there's a lot of reading to do to keep abreast of things. Just ask those who have dropped out. ;)

Vald, I'll hold off until noon, EDT time. OK?

I will like to come aboard but have to warn you for one thing.

I am only online for four days a week, not on wednesday and not in the weekend.

So if you still want me on board give it a call and I will join, otherwise tell me all the same.

Besides I have a lot of experience as a stroyteller and player in rpg's read my profile in writAARs profile.

You're more than welcome, just so long as you know what you're getting into. :)

PM me with a character idea. We are on the verge of tangling with the Turk, so a grunt or light or heavy cavalry type would work fine. Check out the website in my sig. Look under the 'For Whom the Bells Toll' link, then the charcter Bio link. It will give you a rather extensive list of characters (real & NPC) and who they report to. You could always take an NPC character if you want.

Vald, nice post. I only had to alter mine a tad. Just to clarify something that you mentioned to eveyone else. Pasha is advancing down the east side of the river, Hunyadi down the right. Hunyadi is still about five days march behind Ishak, but moving at a faster pace.

OK, my post is up. Pay attention to the dates. It's now the 26th. I've left a couple of real juicy hooks in there for the rangers and light cavalry.

I'll follow up with the main body of the FC later, but assume they are marching in the same path that Hunyadi did -- and they haven't reached any of the Turkish raids -- so don't get any ideas... ;)

Good posts, all. Looks like things should get fired up here shortly.

LD, any chance for a map (or a revision of your earlier one?) I'm having difficulty envisioning where all the major players are.

Yeah. I'll try to do something reasonably detailed for the weekend -- with any luck tonight.

Sorry :(

I was unclear as to were Ishak precisely were so I tried to make sure he was near enough to Nissa for a message, and far enough away not to know what was happening, and far enough away to make sure his messengers would reach the fabled city in time for the main army to arrive this year :D I made it unclear wether the full army is with him or not ;)

I have no idea WHY I just posted, since I don't really have time to continue--but who cares. :D As long as it's okay that my character sneaks off AGAIN and runs into trouble AGAIN... but on the plus side we'll have a scribe in a place where he'll really be useful, for once. :)

Welcome me back...for now...
