fusag, I won't tell you all the SPI titles I have. You may turn green... Ah, hell... Atlantic Wall, a massive 5 map recreation of D-Day, Wellington's Victory 4 map Battle of Waterloo, The Conquerors, a personal favourite, covering Alexander the Great through the Diodochi to Antiochus the Great, Frederick the Great, another favourite, Musket & Pike, Antietam, Red Star, White Star, yadda, yadda, yadda.

IIRC SPI was bought out by GDW and several of their titles were re-released. Ah, those were the days...

Sapphire, as mentioned, read the first post in this thread for the rules. Be prepared, a lot of people can't handle the pace, or fail to grasp the concept, and drop out. So, make sure you know what you're getting into. Otherwise, you're more than welcome.

The time-line will advance by another two weeks on the weekend. I hope to post today covering some John Brandon and Captain stuff.

I've been caught up in the Vicky release and some Conan and Slitherine work, so I haven't had the time to spend here that I'd like. Thanks to those who have kept the AAR going.

It's kind of funny, those who have no AARs of their own (with the odd exception) and treat their writing seriously are the ones who always manage to stick around here Book after Book. It seems to be a trend. I've had several PMs recently from people expressing interest, but nothing has come of them. Anyway, T_H and I have been talking about taking this collaborative writing to another level. I have a pretty good idea who will be interested in pursuing their literary careers...

LD- I hate to nitpick again...but that should be the Drina River...not the Danube...the Danube goes west to east...in a slightly southeastern fashion. We're in BIG trouble if we are so far east that we are on the western bank of the danube. In that area we'd be in Bulgaria...which is NOT a place we ought to be, unless we are way further off course than I thought. I am assuming from the maps I have been using that we are further west than that. Please, please tell me we aren't in Bulgaria...

Americ, Erik, Stnylan thanks for the compliments. Guilt at not posting for a week is a good stimulis for writing. Funny thing is I didn’t have a clue what to write until I sat down and saw an Oskar and Gerd post and then it hit me that Gerd had been around for a couple of years and surely could be now carry on a conversation with the other Free Company men. So I tried to create a normal conversation between Geoffrey and Gerd. I only wish I had an hour to spend on it because I could have really dressed it up. But then that’s my complaint with 90% of my posts.

LD It does seem that each book has half a dozen new writers join but only one or two stay. It’s difficult starting out and the time demands are underestimated but if they really want to they learn now to fit in. So for the new writers don’t despair just keep at it and it’ll work itself out.

Storey - Good points. I would imagine that most of the pikemen who have been aroudn since Cremona-ish would have some rough understanding of Gerd. Some better, some worse. Id guess other FC veterans probably not as good an understanding simply because they would be around him less. As for the recruits ... that has given me an idea

I kind of like some of the nicknames: 'Grizzly' Baer, 'Shaky' Jan, Oskar and Silent Gerd...
