We've never really handled the receiving end of a siege before, so I would suggest you place yourself in you character's boots and ask 'what would I do to alleviate the boredom?' For instance, in the old FC days, someone made a still...![]()

Sometimes a throw-away comment will be picked up on by someone else. Rath Jones is a master at name-tossing. He doesn't neccessarily socialize with everyone he names, but he may at least walk past the character and wave, or whatever.
No. I said I'll let you know when I'm ready.Originally posted by Valdemar

Hey FCers, I got a question for ya.
Since there is no such thing as CNN during this time (barring Sytass, but that's another story!), obviously news travels slowly. Since it looks like the Turks have just about initiated the siege of the city, I was wondering how long it would take that information to reach Venice. The Doge has sent Pietro to hasten information, but what is considered a reasonable time delay in news from Thrace to Venice? Two weeks? A month?
And perhaps just as important, how quickly can the Doge expect a messenger to travel to from Venice to Thrace, assuming a ship and fast horse was put at the individual's disposal?
