Third post is up without, you'll notice, Plan H coming to fruition. Nor Plan K, Hawk, and believe me, I'm as hyped up for as you are... Two hours of work and I didn't do what I was supposed to do, and wanted to do.

But the timing is pretty clear now, thanks to our fearless leader, and I'm thinking the Cyprian arrives just as the second stage of the climax ends, and makes his run down the wall to find Niklos (will he find him? Dunno... up to Stnylan, I suppose), which, of course, brings us to Plan K, Plan H and the final stage of the climax, which is Bruce's infamous Plan X.

Hawk, I'll go ahead and PM you on this... Hate to cause clutter, but we should probably make sure this is completely straight.

Hope you don't mind my use of Niklos... That's it for Thomas, as far as my stuff goes, so feel free to take him where you (and Bruce) dare. Keep the Book V portion of Plan I in mind though... I thought some of that stuff was pretty good.

I'll update the map again this evening. For now, the Azeb version works well, with slightly reduced numbers. If someone jumps in before I have a chance to post, I think it would be safe to assume the Anatolians would not barge through the breach like the Azebs did. They would be more methodical - perhaps a shield wall, even though I know longbows and crossbow bolts would pierce it quite easily, but there are always deflected shots, etc...

While I think of it, I have received several very thoughtful, and detailed, e-mails regarding Book V. I apologize for not responding to all of them, but between T and I we will try to incorporate as much information and ideas as possible.

The plot for Book V (with the working plot title "Plan IX" ) is coming along nicely. I wonder how the surviving FC types will enjoy their sojourn in a Turnkish prison?

Actually, Plan H began some time ago...

Plans I and J have just been put into action. Hawk started Plan K and furthered Plan H.

Plans L, M, N, O and P, which I call Elemenopee, will start as soon as Bruce moves us ahead to the attack of the Moon People.

I knew I needed the secret decoder ring....

I would have liked to be more verbose, but I'm quite unsure about the post in general as I cannot read LD's mind . Furthermore I'm not sure what the range of the Turkish archers is.

I would think that range would not be an issue. It's only 40 feet between the two walls, so any bow can cover that distance. The main issues are going to be firing rate and penetration.

I think it is fair to assume that both the longbows(Welsh) and the recurved bows (Mongol) are superior to whatever the Turks are using.

Hopefully LD will let us know what the special arrows are for soon. BTW, do the Mongols have these special arrows too?

As a historical note, the Mongols did use several different types of arrows. Some made for distance, others for short range penetration, others made to be set on fire, and a few other uses I can't recall right now.

If/when our section of the wall comes under direct attack you'll be recalled and get to test out your idea.
