I, too, have had a pretty nasty week - or at least it's been a very busy one.

I'm having diner with LD tonight to iron out a few wrinkles that seem to have cropped up at my end so we (or I) should have a better idea of exactly what I'm doing from my end over the weekend.

I have a minor difficulty...that I had originally thought that the final attack on Constantinople might be a month or more (game time) further forward. Now that it's been set for a couple days hence, this makes something I wrote earlier in the main thread a bit of a problem. I hope to figure out the best fix for this with LD tonight so I might have to go back and do another edit for continuity's sake (and to at least reduce the appearance of DEM).

Anyway, I'm a bit paralised until I figure it out...

HG: ...hence the reason I'm unsure of when to say "go" since the nature of "go" may need to be adjusted. I *think* that I'm going to need you to apply a little retrospective "magic" on behalf of Syban but I'm not positive yet. I'll e-mail you in the morning to let you know.

Ah....another productive dinner.

Unfortunately I was yacking so much that I kept poor LD up past his bed time (actually I was at serious risk of putting him to sleep with my monotonous banter) so you'll have to wait until tomorrow for his post...but we did have a really good session on Book V.

*rubs hands together in a rather ominous fashion*

PS...I now have a "fix" for the issue I mentioned above and it won't require a massive re-write either. I'll gestate on it for the balance of the evening and will definitely try to get a post up tomorrow to clean up my end of things.

What T failed to mention was that I was just back from two days with the flu, and I was afraid of hurling dinner back at him.

RJ, EJ, saw your e-mails. I haven't had a chance to respond, yet, but T and I were thinking along the same lines.

And yes, Book V is looking pretty good. I'll be posting more on it later.

One note, Venice is crucial to the climax, and to Book V. I had to make sure that their original involvement was brought back into perspective.

Perfect. I wasn't sure if you wanted to deal with the Cyprian, given the gist of the post.

When you clean out your PM box, make sure you clear out the SENT portion too. It's a common mistake to overlook it.

Well, I almost didn't make it. I think I'm the only person in the world who crashed a hard drive using Partition Magic And it was the drive that had all my FC info on it. Nasty timing, too. I was creating a partition to backup all my material on. Go figure! Anyway, I managed to clear the problem after 6 hrs of swapping hard drives, reloading Windows, yadda, yadda, yadda. Now i'm afraid to touch the damned program.

I agree. Rectal quiver is an image that may keep me up for many nights to come.

Thank goodness there was no perm. damage. FC destroyed by drive damage would be the ultimate CTD on this site!
