Welcome to the Forgotten Latin Kingdom Chronicles

NOTE: This AAR starts 152 years after the 1310 start-date.

Chapter List:
Pre-story: In 1310 AD, the duke (self-proclaimed king) Basarab the First, challenged the Mongol and Hungarian leaders and declared independence for his people, who had enough with all the tribes and kingdoms marching over their ancient territories. And with a political crisis happening in Hungary while the Hordes were fighting the Rus' Principalities, the self proclaimed king of all Romanians marched to Targoviste (North of Modern Day Bucharest) and among thousands of Romanians, proclaimed the Duchy of Wallachia. The Hungarians would not approve of this, and the then Hungarian King Charles marched west towards the Vlach lands, taking advantage of the Mongol Military Crisis in the East. However, months later, Basarab defeated Charles' second army, cutting its supply routes and encircling him.

With nowhere to go, and with his life threatened, the soldiers convinced Charles to sign the treaty of Targoviste, recognizing Wallachia's independence.
Moln%C3%A1r_J%C3%B3zsef_Carol_Robert_fleeing_from_Posada_Battle.jpg

Immediately after signing the treaty, Charles retreated towards his capital, who now was being swayed by his rebellious nobles; but for the Romanian people, it signaled that their struggle to survive has just begun.

Soon after, in 1312 AD, Basarab forged an alliance with the Serbian king, who admired Basarab for standing up to his peoples' oppressors, and 4 months later, seeing as the Mongols were invading Novgorod, decided it was time to liberate the Romanians in Moldova and Bessarabia.
Battle-of-Blue-Waters.jpg

And so, war was declared and the Serbs joined. They marched from Dobrogea all the way to Iasi. No sign of the Horde. The territory was now under Romanian control.

However...The Novgorodian Posadnik surrendered to the Horde, giving them almost half his country's territory.

Meanwhile, in Iasi, Basarab has setup defences over the region, with its inhabitants cheering up his name and requesting liberation from the thieving horde.

The Mongols marched south in force, considering Basarab's actions an affront to their righteous rule.
And with a ratio of 15:1 of troops, the Mongols overran the Iasi Defences, forcing Basarab to retreat, with the Serbian Army following.

Making a last stand an Modern Day Bucharest, Basarab and his Serbian reinforcements were defeated. All seemed lost. With the Vlach Duke conspiring against the Mongols underneath the besieging forces.

Every Vlach City was under siege at this point, with the Serbian king trying to convince the horde's Khan at a white peace.

The Khan stated to the Serbian Diplomat that only when the Khan himself will have the Wallachian Duke's head on the table will there be peace.

For the Wallachians, all hope seemed lost.
400px-Bel_guldensporenslacht_Nicaise_de_Keyser_1836.jpg

Then, like a miracle, Muscovy, leading all the Russian Duchies, attacked the Mongol Horde, with all their troops marching over the Horde's territory.
King_Henry_V_at_the_Battle_of_Agincourt,_1415[3].png

The Mongol armies abandoned the sieges of Wallachia, heading north to defend their main cities from the Rus Duchies.

Basarab took advantage of this and issued several loans from the Venetians to hire a mercenary army and besiege the Moldavian regions once more.

Many months pass and the Horde, tired of marching and with the local population of their vast empire conspiring against them; stood defeated. Accepting Basarab's demands.

And so, Basarab proclaimed the Romanian Kingdom, vowing to defend his people from the wrath of tyrants.
Symbols_of_Romania.png

The Muscovite Grand Duke, Yury, impressed with Basarab's actions, proposed a marriage, uniting the two families, granting Yury much prestige and respect among his nobles.

Years pass, and with the help of the Serbian Kingdom, with the recognition and respect earned from the Pope and all western Europe for his heroic actions against the devilish armies of the horde, and with the protection from the Muscovite Duke, Basarab marched south, annexing the Bulgarian lands, encircling Constantinople, and then north, taking Crimea and all the lands around it. Ending up to forge a trade pact with Genoa.

By this point, all the north, west and south side of the Black Sea was under Basarab's control.

Now, almost 40 years after the independence war, in 1352 AD, Basarab stood on his dying bed, among his one and only son, Daniel. He told his son to pass down a saying, "Listen carefully Daniel, *cough*, there will be empires and tyrants that could crush us like a bug, that would threaten our very existence, and demand you bow down to them. Do it--" Then, Daniel interrupted his father -- "But father, that is not the wa--" At which point, Basarab grabbed his son's shirt, pulling him in and looking into his eyes saying, "Bow down, but always, Alway-*cough* Have a dagger behind your back, prepared...." Basarab then left this world, leaving his son to fight off the Muslim Ottomans and Karamanids who desired complete control of his nation's resources.

Being more of a scholar, dwelling for entire nights under the shadows of ancient books, the now King Daniel was a father, his wife, Iulia (Grand Duke Yury's daughter) gave birth to this son, whom he named Alexander.

During his reign, Daniel modernized his kingdom, securing viable allies and treaties that propulsed his nation in a golden age of culture.

Now, with his son being 10 years old, Daniel taught him to seek knowledge as his shield, but not to be a stranger to the sword. As they were in the King's library, a Muscovite envoy was being escorted by two guards, requesting audience with the king.
Daniel, left his 10 year old son in the library, while inviting the guest in the King's chamber.

"What is so important that you stormed in at this late of night?" Daniel questioned the envoy.
The envoy bowed down to Daniel, who thought it was weird, but was then even more surprised when the envoy spoke.
"My liege, I come from far away to bring urgent news. My grand duke, Ivan the III'rd, was assassinated by a treacherous noble, who desires all power to himself. I wish now to inform you that, from this point onwards, you are the King of Wallachia, and of all the Russian duchies in the north."

The Envoy then hands a papirus document to Daniel, who reviews it carefully with his nobles, the next day giving his response to his envoy.
All this time, Alexander peeked through the massive doors to hear the conversation, staggered to hear that his daddy now rules over many other people.

And many people they were indeed. The Ruthenians, Russians, Ukrainians and Tartars respected Ivan the III'rd as it was required of them, with Ivan's nobles struggling to attain the throne of the Grand Duke himself.

But...Basarabs actions have yet to be forgotten by Europe, and seeing as now Ivan was dead, all the nobles and the people wanted Daniel 'The Scholar', son of the 'Great Basarab', who defeated armies far greater than his own, to lead them more so than some unknown noble.

And thus, a Union was formed, a Union so powerful, the western kings and queens saw it as a threat, bigger than the Mongols themselves. For what is more deadly, an empire despised by its own people? Or one where no matter the culture or religion, respected, feared and loved its leaders.

Many many years later, in December 1462 AD, Ilias the I Basarab just ascended to the throne of an Empire that the world wanted destroyed. And against overwhelming odds, the now Emperor of the Romanian Empire, agreed to several peace-terms, to the now Serbian Rivals.
KmPHzly.png

Ilias now has the harder task of preserving his 'just unified' Empire. Will he make it? Will the people once again see the might of the Basarab Bloodline? Who rules an Empire formed out of nowhere, only because of actions that the world never would have seen coming?

Part 1: Northern Frontier

On 15th of December, 1462, Ilias issued a meeting with his officials. During the meeting, he accepted the divergence of resources to cut down on the inflation produced during the 'Great Defeat' as the Empire's people called it. Also creating laws that would be beneficial for an Empire who lost almost half its territory.
3EXAid4.png

pXZ2KmS.png

Afterwards, on 5th of January, 1463, the Scandinavian Emperor agreed to Ilias' terms of peace. Seeing as Scandinavia was threatened by the British in the west, a peace treaty was seeked to end hostilities with the Romanian Empire. Scandinavia will renounce its colonies in the East but one, which would be cut off from the Motherland.
yyQwKSB.png

aqo79Dr.png

It was a small and insignificant victory, but one that would most surely halt the advance of the Norse in the Siberian steppes, and with the Great Defeat splitting the Empire in two, it was handled with a warm welcome.
Now, Ilias stood against many duchies, which cut the Empire in half. His task now was to unite the Empire, which is now an Empire just in name, and to crush down all the tyrants which desired its destruction.

Part 1, Chapter 1: Targets of Opportunity

Our rivals consider us weak. This is a time of planning. With our forces re-organizing, we must proceed to bring stability to our realm once more.

The Wallachian Theater of War has 3 Armies that at first stopped the advance of the Serbo-Hungarian troops, but were eventually defeated.
Reinforcements will be issued to strengthen the borders to the South-East.
QAuLXyO.png

Soon after, our Admiral, Theodore, requested permission to protect our Constantinople Trade now that the war was over.
We must protect our trade indeed. We now appear weak, and our rivals will seek to take over our trade connections in the Bosphorus strait. That cannot happen.
8pwbtgz.png

Our Russian Theater, having the most troops, is ordered to re-organize as well and form a strong defense line in case of Novgorodian and Scandinavian aggression.
WxCpAdJ.png

Our current ideas focused on stability and military expansion:
UzHBJao.png

As orders were dispatched to front, the Patriarch of the Eastern Orthodox Church contacted Ilias, stating that a unified Empire needs its people united in administrative and religious terms as well, and thus issuing the mission to convert the Islamic following peoples in the south.

Chapter 1, Sub-chapter 1: Future Planning

With the end of the Great Defeat, Ilias had a military meeting with his general and admiral, discussing future targets as well as essential defenses.
Callimachi, the Empire's only general, suggested the following targets and defense procedures.
dr1oSH6.png

"Constantinople is of urgent need my liege." Admiral Theodore tells Ilias after seeing the strategic map.
"Indeed. It would provide us with a huge boost to our tax income." Ilias replied to the admiral.
However, Callimachi soon intervened in the discussion and stated one important fact, "The Byzantines still hold crucial advantage against us in the coalition they formed. If we are to take Constantinople, then we must destroy their reputation on the world stage."

Soon after, one of the now independent Russian duchies, Perm, proceeded to join the coalition against us, fearing that we might try to annex them.

I will proceed to provide another sub-chapter tomorrow. Thanks for reading!

Chapter 1, Sub-chapter 2: The City of the World's Desire

As a strong wind blew through the 1st Army HQ in Silistria, Callimachi, the Commander (And the only general) of the Imperial Army, was discussing with his loyal regiment sergeants, who stood by him during the Great Defeat.
yUKXWlx.png

"Has the King approved of reinforcements?!", one sergeant asks the general, whom replies with, "Yes. They should arrive shortly. Keep in mind though, that the crown is paying heavily for these reinforcements. With the loss of so many cities, villagers willing to conscript are rare."

Another sergeant steps in and informs the general of a small support division which survived in Anatolia, and are standing by.
The general then responds, "Have them retreat to Bithnyia. We might need their support."

"Understood sir.", the sergeant complies with the order and walks out of the HQ.
6vLbkLX.png

Back at the Capital in the now Bucharest province, the King stands in the meeting hall, at the round table, idling alongside his last advisor. Whereas his Administrative and Diplomatic advisors were fired due to shortage of funds.

The military advisor, Vasiliy, informs the King of possible outbreak of war in the east.
"My liege, to add on to the news, the umm..Polish and the Hungarians are now in a state of cold war. Most of their troops have been positioned at each others borders."
IXr9vDQ.png

"Now that they won, they started to turn on each other...I guess, fighting together against the same foe means nothing anymore?", the King replied.
Then he added, "Have some diplomats venture in the northern principalities to improve our standing with them. Seeing as now we are split in two, we require free passage through their nation just in case."
"Of course, my liege.", the advisor responded.
4vdlfuC.png

Then, the advisor continued with the important events the King required to hear.
"We also received a letter the other day about military access from the Hansa. They seem to be invading several Scandinavian cities which are close to our borders. How should I respond?"
The King looked at the letter, thinking for about one minute. Then he looked at the advisor and told him to permit the access.

The Advisor again continued with informing the King.
"Some peasants, my liege, have demanded independence, thinking that this would be their best shot after the many independent principalities that were freed."
The King responded with, "Send over two regiments. We cannot have this disturbance go out of hand."
"Of course, my liege." The advisor agreed with the King.
"Also", the advisor continued, "we have received reports of successful implementation of new farming techniques. Should we use this to increase tax or resources for the army?"
The King replied with, "What do you recommend?"
Vasiliy looked over the report, and then back at the King with his response, "Increase taxation is a must in this time of need. Our army is weakened and it requires many soldiers to reinforce the many fronts we have, and for that, we need alot of disposable income."
"So be it." The King complied with Vasiliy.
Cj6LCGE.png
JOActJf.png

Months later, the Teutonics and their allies, attacked the Poles. Requesting military access.
Wanting to appear weak towards his rivals, King Ilias agreed to the terms.
KGz3mm3.png

Then, in 1464, several covert agents sent reports to the crown that the Byzantines have left the coalition and that they managed to forge a claim on the 'City of the World's Desire'.
FSbO6sT.png

King Ilias hastened the military research, taking advantage of the Byzantines thinking the Empire is weak.

Constantinople will soon be ours. But at what price?

Chapter 1, Sub-chapter 3: Eastern Agressors

In the North-East, the Turkish Khan invaded the Principality of Kirov.
qkF0kYl.png

They seem to be taking advantage of our situation. No matter. We will halt their expansion there.
LQYUUKT.png

In Anatolia, general Callimachi set his military plan in motion.
9KCLdwh.png

And as soon as our truce expires, we will proceed with our invasion of Constantinople.

In the west, the Serbian King invaded the Byzantine holdings.

Lest clean up those borders in the name of the defender of christendom!
Hey! A reader! Thanks for going through my AAR!
Will do another sub-chapter (Or more?) tomorrow, where you will see who my first ally as an empire will be.
Hint: He's blue.

Chapter 1, Sub-chapter 4: Unexpected Friend

Our enemies are vast, and their resources match our own. Since the queens and kings of these lands reject our union with the Russian states, we will find ourselves leaders that will be willing to collaborate.
Ilias thought, as he welcomed the French Diplomat in Bran Castle for a secret meeting.
medieval-main1.jpg

The Diplomat, Dorian, bowed and ushered, "Your Majesty. With what reason have you summoned France?"
Ilias then rose up from the throne and walked down towards Dorian, putting a hand on his shoulder, "This way please.."; The Diplomat starts walking with Ilias, away from the Kings' Throne Room, in a secluded corridor.
"As you most surely know, we aren't getting along very well with our neighbours.."; Dorian then interrupts the King, "Yes, we know that very well given your recent history, but with what does that affect France?"
As they passed through the corridor, secluded from the rest of the castle inhabitants, the pair pass a balcony, where Ilias looks over in the distant, at how the Sun falls down, paving the way for the night to follow.
"It affects France, as in you are in a similar position as us. The Spanish want Provence, the English desire Brittany and your northern territories, while the Germanic states in the west hold provinces rightfully yours."
Dorian then turns towards the falling Sun as well, "Indeed. It is the truth that you speak off. But..I need to consult with the Council. We shall meet again to tell you of my their response... your Majesty."
"So be it." Ilias responded.
SJGYUC1.png

Months later, at the end of May, the Genoese have gotten themselves in a little conflict near our border, and requested military access in case of retreat.
TpAJ7NX.png

We accept.

Then, in July, a census around the divided Empire showed that our people are happy that we allowed them to live in freedom.
qz4KvjW.png

After much debate with his council, the French Diplomat, Dorian, returned with his council's decision.
"Your Majesty. I have returned to bring you joyous news."
"Well, we could certainly need some right about now haha.", Ilias responded.
"Our council, which acts in the name of your young yet-to-be King, have agreed to an alliance with the Romanian Empire."
yobiRCj.png

Glorious news indeed! Just what we needed to assure more protection in case of attack.
However, south of our Empire, the Kingdom of Serbia concluded a peace treaty with the Byzantines. All the Byzantine territory in Northern Greece will be annexed by the Serbian Crown. We must watch this development closely. Serbia has proven a very powerful ally in the past, and a deadly rival in the present.

Chapter 1, Sub-chapter 5: The Constantinople Treaty

As we are trying to re-unite with the former states and working to take Constantinople, the world has changed.
The English are close to uniting the British Isles. Our King wonders what their next goal will be. If they dare cross into Francia, we will be called and we will aid the French.
And the Hanseatic-Scandinavian War seems to be vying in Hansa's favour.
fGQF5SB.png

In the Mid-East, the Syrians managed to push back the Mamluks and the Yemeni with the help from Oman, which had aid. But from where? They were just a small province nation.
mQeu8JO.png

In the newly discovered continent of Asia (by a Spanish explorer) shows many states vying for control, same as here.
HxHjJbi.png

And in the Far-East, the Yuan dynasty's military numbers reached the ears of our general and King. They surpass us by 2:1, Having over 200,000 troops.
While the small island near it, called Japan, seems to have just one nation in control of it, same as England will have complete control of the Isles.
X2V4JnC.png

Now, back home, we managed to ally and vassalize a former state that belonged to the Muscovites, which our King's father inherited.
Xj5pcCJ.png

kdzuXqF.png

And during our struggle to bring the Galichians under our control, a noble family, that has many ties to the Royal Family, had some financial issues, requesting our support... However, our entire Empire is in debt, still recovering from the 'Great Defeat'.
Ky4cyAR.png

Now, in the North-West, Scandinavia seems to have lost the war, not surprisingly, but what was incredible, was that Finland was granted independence, while the Hansa acquired much territory in the Danish regions.
mZxMQfD.png

In the far west, the French Council offered a marriage proposal with our Royal Family. Normally we accept.
9BAW980.png

And in the South, our Armies are ready to march into Constantinople, and claim the 'City of the World's Desire'!
1ha7Vlo.png

Plan proceeds as usual.
zIk0SwR.png

However, one of our Divisions were defeated by the Byzantines, and Ilias, who was besieging Constantinople, had to break from the main plan and advance into the small island that the enemy defeated our troops.
4pcia9Z.png

Current situation on the front:
sjUj07o.png

Soon after, the Fins join the coalition against us. They fear we might come barging in.
FFsfnDy.png

The war was won! And now our King negotiates with the 'Puny' Emperor of Byzantium to hand of Constantinople.
And he accepts!
Fgs7MKz.png

Indeed! Also, do you know why I can't vassalize Moldavia or any other Russian Principality except Galich? It says that they have a high tax rate compared to my provinces, which is weird, considering they have just 4-5 provinces.

Chapter 1, Sub-chapter 6: The Vlach-Moldavian War of Unification

Our attempts at vassalizing the Moldavian nation has failed. They are our brothers, yet their government resist our unification attempts.
Thus, we will cancel our alliance.
t99FApQ.png

And even though our royal bloodline is connected with theirs, it will not stop us from unifying our two peoples!
MKooLc7.png

Our 2nd and 3rd Army will move in fast.
hA7aACh.png

Our newly hired general, Michael, is proving to be quite a handful for the Moldavians.
ntU6eKu.png

During this unification war, Serbian diplomats attempted to persuade the Hungarians, Polish and the Teutonics to join the coalition against us.
"They are regaining their strength back! Think of the repercussions!", a Georgian diplomat stated, when trying to persuade the Hungarians to join the coalition.
One of the Hungarian diplomats then stood up and pointed towards the Serbs, "We did! We helped more than anyone to bring down that wretched union, and what did we get? Our territories were still left in Romanian possession, while those bloody Serbs made it so that some minor Russian states get released. What now? What will protect those states from annexation? After all we've done, we gained nothing. And now the union is allied with Francia."
A Polish diplomat then continued, "Indeed, as you say, a French invasion would doom us. Even if we do win, it would still be close to the edge, with our manpower and coffers drained to the bottom of the sea. We're sorry, but taking action at this point would be suicide. We must wait for a better moment."

And while they wait, our Empire will grow and grow and grow.

They will pay for their actions against our people. There will be no mercy.

Our diplomat in Serbia heard of this secret meeting from one of our covert agents deep inside the Hungarian administration, and insulted the Serbian King.
sNW2UtJ.png

Back home, Moldavia is now besieged. They will soon fall, and our people will once again be unified!
sTEGyva.png

In the meantime, Achea, a Greek state that wishes to unify Greece, created a coalition against the Serbian threats, and invited us in. No way will we deny this opportunity.
twaV91A.png

The Moldavian capital will soon fall! And our troops will emerge victorious with few casualties.
HnCHiV9.png

Victory! We are now one step closer to uniting the Russian-Romanian union as it was before our rivals defeated us!

In the public sector, a philosopher is considered an enemy of the Church, by the..Church...
Our King pardons him, telling the Patriarch that we require free thinkers to advance further in many areas.
WgX8B9t.png

We now begin to fabricate a claim on Sivas and Tokat, Otto provinces.
WObLvLb.png

After our agents managed to fabricate the claims, we barge in, not knowing the noise we made will affect the entire Middle East + North Africa.

Umm...Yeah...Crap.

Alliance Avalanche is never good.
And damn! Our navy just lost a decisive battle against a much smaller foe. Usman Izzet seems to be a worthy Admiral, deserving praise!
pwzJMHd.png

The Mamlukians advance towards Karamanid territory, and afterwards into Ottoman regions. We need a plan. And we need it fast.
Y4Wt9Vn.png

After our navy was defeated and lost over half its composition, our King, Ilias, spent a considerable amount of ducats on purchasing a new and improved navy, to have decisive victory over the seas. Will this ultimately prove fatal to our land forces? Time will tell.
gPiyFMF.png

Our King was attacked by a large, 27,000 strength Muslim Army. His son, now promoted to the rank of General after being tutored by Callimachi, rushes towards his father rescue.
Ef8cXkZ.png

But our King managed to completely defeat the enemy. A great victory that will matter alot in the end!
qc0u05C.png

jZx58PR.png

Over the next week, Persian and Mamlukian troops amassed in Tosya, surpassing our East-Anatolian Army by 2:1. Simeon took a huge risk and thought that many more are coming, and dealing with the already huge army that was just waiting in the hills near Kastamon was a great time to strike.
King Ilias accepted his son's plan and proceeded to hand over the leadership of the East-Anatolian Army.

[Please note that during this war, I split the 3 Armies that were stationed in the Balkan/Anatolian regions to two armies in the west and in the east. One was to supress the Ottoman soldiers and besiege all western provinces, while the eastern one was supposed to deny the enemy incoming force, any chance at a large scale invasion in Anatolia.]

And so, Simeon attacked.
hbnbSiI.png

Nasir the II'nd, High Chief of the Injuids (Shiite Steppe Nomads occupying Persia) led the big army himself. Will Simeon be able to defeat him?
Why yes he could.

jtTVuS7.png

Soon after the Injuid army retreated, the Mamluks assisted by the Tripolitans joined in from the west, trying to prevent us from taking Tokat.
No matter. Simeon will arrive shortly and defend the besieging forces.

Curses! The Algerians were waiting in ambush! We are severely outnumbered and with this ambush, we will lose a tremendous ground to the Muslims!

And now the Injuids are reinforcing the Algerian Army and are storming through Kozani and into Sivas!

And now they are assisting in pushing through Sivas!

They won! Curses! They are advancing!

Our Balkan Army is completely defeated, requiring months before it can reach its original strength! This is a huge loss and we must peace out or risk losing far more than we already have!

ik51CNf.png

And with that, the Crescent Moon War was over. It was our first war against the Muslim nations in the Middle East/Far East and Northern Africa.

The Georgians apparently took advantage of the situation and invaded Dulkadir, The Mamluks and other Muslim nations.

Shortly after, we gain a Cassus Belli on one of the Hordes.

And we begin to annex one of our vassals.

We will begin forging a claim on Chernigov, taking some provinces and ultimately vassalize them.

Some rebels have appeared on Sivas! Our army will deal with this swiftly.

And the Iberian Wedding happened. Interesting development. A union between Castille and Aragon could be damaging to Francia.

War has been declared! March my brothers! Recover our lost territories! (That we had for like 4 months before we lost against the coalition @_@)

During the war, our King, Ilias, died at a young age in Bran Castle. He will be remembered throughout the ages.

And now Francia offers us a Royal Marriage. We gladly accept!

We won! T'was and easy and fast war.

Soon after, our neighbours challenge us again, not liking that we decided to expand once again. Let their soldiers step in our land again. This time, we will not give up so easily as Ilias' father.

Simeon, our new king, has proven to be quite resilient and heroic in battles as well as in diplomacy. Our people love him and our rivals despise him.

Chapter 2, Sub-chapter 3: Falling Roses

Our King, Ilias, had a beautiful funeral. His son, Simeon, will lead our people to glory and our enemies to ruin!
"I promise, that with my ascension to the throne, I will protect our people, defend our allies, and destroy our enemies!" Said Ilias, at his coronation ceremony, with the crowd yelling "Go Ilias! Our new King! Long live Romania! Long live the Union!".

Soon however, he will have the means to prove it.
The King of England will take an action that will change the very world he lives in. He will draw the whole Europe, directly and indirectly, into a war that will change its shape and form.
For in 1st October, 1484, the English Army marched into the already divided lands of Scotland, telling their French allies that they will stop at nothing to annex the Scottish.

The Scots proved to be quite the opponent in the face of the overwhelming English Army.

The French, knowing they cannot let their English rivals achieve this goal and unify the British Islands, called forth all their allies in the war, as they did not have the means to achieve a naval victory and invade England.

Here is Simeon's chance to prove that his words are more than just words.

The French have completely besieged Flanders.

We outnumber our foes at land, but they outnumber us at sea.

The Scots have lost the war, but their allies have yet to give up.

Back home, tensions rose around the border. The Norse are fabricating claims and their neighbours joined against us.

Soon after, Flanders conceived defeat.

Our navy was increased to have 20 Flyte's in order to transport our Armies across the Mediterranean Sea, and our Fleet will soon reach France.
However, our Admiral has decided to intercept the Portugese fleet, an action which we will regret, as the Portugese have quite the naval capability compared to their land forces.

We lost the naval battle and 3 of our transports were sunk alongside 12 other ships. This was a very bad move, but at least some of our forces managed to land.

And soon after, the English, having achieved complete victory over the Scots, have invaded Norther Greece. 80% of our Balkan Armies were sent to France to protect the French territory.

We have hired 6,000 Mercs to reinforce our last 20,000 troops stationed in Constantinople on the off chance our neighbours might be willing to try their luck and attack us.

Simeon attacks and completely decimates the English Army.

More Sub-chapters to follow. This small war will shift the power of the world completely.
