Peasant Progress Report #3
These next few updates are broken up into smaller parts than I would like because there seems to be a limit on how many images I can put into a post. I had to cut out a couple smilies and remove one or two screenies that I liked just to get this to work.
The Final Battle of 1425 and the Report for 1426
After the great dissipation of my armies in France, I am left with two armies, both in Persia. They merged in Lut, TE, in August and engaged in battle with the full force of Timurid oppression on
September 11th, 1425. Much to my surprise and chagrin, my forces were finally and utterly defeated on the 19th. I controlled many provinces (most unfortified) in the Timurid Empire, but I had no army with which to defend them. Such is the life of "Rebel Scum."
January 1426: Good news. Two armies appeared in Kachin, Myanmar, and Qilian Pendi, China. Myanmar's forces were quickly beaten. Realizing that I can free a great number of unfortified provinces in China, I decided to abandon Kachin and set my armies on converging marches through China's western hinterlands.
March 14: Both armies arrived in Xining, having accomplished their respective duties of seizing three provinces. They were directed south toward Lanzhou as I could see 13,000 Chinese troops gathering to the north and 3,000 in the east with 10,000 more behind them.
April: Revolt in samara, Golden Horde. It seems the Horde still haven't retaken Ufa as they have just begun besieging it.
May: Ufa fell, but I took Samara. That army is directed toward Kazan. No need to let the Horde's cavalry catch me in open ground. The Chinese armies are gathering still. I directed my army south toward Sichuan Pendi and away from the 23,000 Chinese to my north. I hope to capture Sichuan Pendi and Yunnan and then double back to liberate Qilian Pendi from its minimal fortress. A stronghold in the west will make a good base of operations, and will give the Chinese (who are under the command of a leader named Xuande) trouble even if I find myself without an army. A small revolt took place in Baluchistan. They are directed toward Kalat and take it before the month is out.
Just so you can see how my recently liberated French countries are doing, here's a couple screenies.
Not so good.
July: New army in Kabylia, Tunisia. They liberated the province in a quick assault. In China, Xuande caught my army unaware in Sichuan Pendi...
August: ...but was defeated, although not completely destroyed as my French army destroyed Bedford in the Battle of Orleans. A new army appeared in Jiangsu, China, while my armies in Tunisia and the Golden Horde battled with the greater part of each nation's respective army. The Tunisian peasants were slaughtered but the army in Golden Horde was victorious. I decided to move them south to break the siege on Samara.
September: The revolt in Jiangsu was put down without making any progress while my army in the west of China won a second victory against Xuande's demoralized troops, this time utterly crushing him. Xuande will never again oppress a serf.
Random News from the Rest of the World: Byzantium annexed Modena.
Yep, I foresee trouble there in the future.
October: We won victories in Samara and Qilian Pendi but were overwhelmed in Ufa by the Horde's full army...er, horde.
November: Qilian Pendi was liberated by our forces.
December: A revolt in unfortified Anhui turned the province over to my hands without a shot. That army was set on a course through Nanchang, Hunan and Shaanxi to link up with my westernmost army, which was directed towards to Shaanxi via Xining and Lanzhou. A new army has appeared in Hamadan, TE. They began marching towards Isfahan, Fars and Hormouz and a possible link-up with my small force in the eastern TE. They defeated about 3,000 men of the Timurid army. Two big forces are to the north and they could potentially crush my rebellion in one fell stroke.
This was a pretty quiet year. As I have played through January 1st, 1428, I can tell you that 1427 was much more eventful (so much that I had to break up the report into two parts) so keep an eye out for the next installment of
The Forces of Anarchy: Tales of Peasant Liberation.
