Hi Forum, hi Collosal Order, hi Paradox,
this is my first post on this forum and I already have some suggestions and alos bug reports here:
Please, give us some means to control the fire spread in our cities!
I already had some thoughts into this matter:
1. A city ordonace to keep fire spread by buildings in check:
"Fire Extuingisher" ordonace
Const 5$ per building (like smoke detectors) - delays ANY fire spread from the affected building for about 20 seconds (on low game speed that is) - This should be enough for any well planned fire fighting to keep fires in check.
2. Lower fire spread from trees depending on park area maintainance
This means that a perfectly maintained park has a 0% or only 1% chance of fire spread from any tree or building in the area. A 0% maintained park has the normal ratio of fire spread.
What do you think of these ideas?
Btw: There is an annoying bug in the fire helicopter AI, also the desaster reponse Helicopter AI:
The fire fighting helicopters prefer to extuingish tree fires only (nothing bad here so far). When all trees are extuingished, they return to their depot - realizing, that park buildings are still burning and THEN start again. As a park building needs 4 fully filled helicopters to be extuingished, any park building will alomst surely burn down.
Also, there is a bug in the desaster response helicopter AI:
When you start rebuilding while there are still burned down buildings in the area, there is a chance that all helicopters return to deopt - except one that will land, start, then land again, then start... If you need support, I can provide a save game for this. (No mods used, only vanilla and expansion pack assets.)
It would be nice if you can have a look into this issue.
Btw: I really like the direction you steered your game into. But these things I mentioned are an unneccessary annoyance, IMHO. Please, keep this in mind. Can't wait for the next step for Cities: Skylines, though.
Keep up the good work!
Best regards,
sys
