Most of the world's attention focused on the raging Chinese War during the latter half of the year 1944. China was effectively cut in half, about 3 million men cut off from the Nanking HQ. The Soviets broke through everywhere, and the Allies broke through in Burma. Now the last Chinese strongholds lie in the Himalayan mountains, and the urban area around Nanking is strongly fortified.
While still engaged in China, the Red Navy and the Finnish Navy focused on their landing operations in Indonesia to secure a source of vital rares to the Comitern. With the industrial power growing and the world further dividing to alliances, rares have become the most valuable commodity of all. The Allies control most of the world, so their rares are secure. But unfortunately the Axis can't get a lot outside Europe, so they are suffering from a lack of rares. The Comitern is somewhere in between...
This leads to the reason of the other invasions. The 2nd Phoney War in Europe continued peacefully. Coastal forts were built and garrisons were trained. Then the Axis focused on the Mediterranean, and started to occupy vital islands, like Malta. Maybe to invade Africa someday?
But then on one day in July, out of the blue... 90 Allied ships appear outside Göteborg and US marines storm the beaches. After making desperate resistance, the Swedish shore troops are forced to fall back. Soon dozens of tanks under Field Marshal Patton are unloaded. Then more follow, and eventually the Allies have 80 divs in Sweden. The German Luftwaffe is rebased. Several Allied ships are sunk, but there are too many. German CAS kills several Allied divs, but more take their place.
Eventually Scandinavia is overrun. The Germans lose about 100k men there, just like with Norway in 1940-41. The Baltic is still closed, because Copenhagen is still firmly in German hands. Unfortunately a lot of divisions are lost. Denmark is now in a lot worse position than before, and the Allies have good air bases to strike to Germany.
These are the grim facts. Hitler is facing total crisis. The Axis are running out of rares, and the Comitern is less eager to help them. Our IC is getting more and more outnumbered by the other alliances. Since the USSR can't invaded before 1948, there is only one option. Listen to Rommel and launch Operation Misaret. The invasion of Tunisia, leading to the occupation of valuable air bases in North Africa. Then secure the vital rares and oil there is, and ship it back to Germany. The has landing succeeded, and now Rommel's dream has come true. He is finally firmly on African soil with his best tanks. Now onwards to Suez!
The war in China continues without any sign of surrender. These men stopped the Japanese, and they won't stop until Chiang orders them. But unfortunately their chance of survival is diminishing each passing day...
The Red Army is advancing in the East.
And the Allies in the West.
On one of their raids on Plymoth, the Germans made a suprising find. The legendary Ethiopian submarine fleet! We thought that they were only stories, but apparently it was true...
The story starts from 1940, when Denmark was invaded. These subs managed to withdraw from Copenhagen and survive the German naval bombers and surface fleet. Then they were based in Scapa flow for a few years, since nobody was interested in old subs. (Bah these subs can sink the Bismark, said one Danish Captain!)
In 1941 Italy and Ethiopia joined the Allies. They elected Haile Selassie to be the leader of their alliance (nobody knew about this, because it was a secret election, aka a modding error for adding Ethiopia to the Allied list as the 1st member! :rofl
So Haile Selassie received these subs as a gift for leading the Allies to victory! But after Italy was lost, the US assumed leadership.
That is the story of the subs, which nobody really used, and now they were lost. But apparently they took part in 1 battle in the Pacific.
The Axis begin their operations in the Mediterranean. The first step is to secure the mineral rich island of Sardinia.

On the tech front, the Germans are years ahead in nuclear tech. And in 1942 Delex said my nuclear techs suck! :rofl:

Vlassov cuts China in half. All counterattacks fail.
New rocket interceptors are researched. However due to their high cost, the Germans decide to focus more on turbojet interceptors, and upgrade their airforce then.

The Comitern invades the Indonesian Islands.
The ToP 12 is narrowing even more. USSR is rising to the top with her industrial program and the Chinese conquests. I'm not too sure if he will release China now.
