The Final Countdown - Release

30 days left as of today, 14th of October.
I've already memorized all the military marches of the period.

I wonder what are the things i should do before the release?
Visit my friends and family, write my will, quit the job, make a world tour and also write down my authobiography.

I'm afraid i won't even find time to eat or drink once i have the pack in my hands....

and starve to death with an evil chuckle:

"Finally the World will submit"....

I suppose I should read a book or two on the history of the period, make sure my glasses are nice and clean, and say one final farewell to my family.... oh yeah, and do all my school projects too

p.s. I think the countdown here (canada) is 34 four days but I guess that the wait is a great deal of the fun. Now if they would only release some more screenshots or an AAR.....

Justin kidding but seriously, let us hope and pray that sites such as EB are not lying, at see if one of the higher ups here could be so wonderfully merciful as to grant us an idea as to whether the november release dates are accurate. I, for one, am very much looking forward to a NOV 18th release.

Yeah, I'm not so sure we can count on the Nov. 14th release date - given that Johan (or was it Patric? ) said here recently that their games take about one month after going gold to actually make it to store shelves....

Therefore, I'm going to hold off my 30-day celebration until they announce that the game has gone gold.

You are right Valerius, if only I could mimic your self-control .
I have checked at strategy first, and all they have is a somewhat disheartening "winter 2003" for release date, but then again, they have "TBA" for Crusader Kings, which has been said will be released in Q1 of 2004. Therefore, I think there is yet hope for a (late) november release.

That's pretty much my guess, actually - the game going gold around late October-early November, putting release around late November-early December. I would be very suprised if Paradox didn't release a game for the Christmas shopping season, and then released two new games in the first quarter of 2004.

this is silly, final count down can not begin till paradox has anounced the game has gone gold. since the game has yet to go gold.........

nov. 14th is just a date the publisher sets based on the deadlines it wants, but the publisher can not do much until the developer has finished the game. So, i suggest to you guys, sit tight and figure out ways on how to beat the germans with the soviets in the 1939 scenario in HoI, because i sure could use some help

If I were you, once it is out, that is,

As an Ottoman Empire, my strategy would be twofold.

One, make life BETTER for the minorities, so they don't rebel and keep them at my side. Then attack...

1. Greece
2. Persia
3. Afghanistan
4. Austria

By that time you should have an empire worth its weigth in gold, especially if your tech is up to par (and I suspect it will be)

So I would either go for colonies, or relieve the breatrhen Turks in Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan from the Heathen Russians . I do believe you will do this so, inevitably you will need to put Russia out of your way as well.

The way i'm torturing those poor souls that work in Gamestop, they sure will place Victoria on the very front stand... I will soon start calling them so that as soon as the game is released they make sure to have it in store...

It is unbelievable, its almost out......This game will be something i am sure.

If the game is READY, then by all means, ship it out, and we shall buy!

But i won't lose any sleep if the heads decide to hold onto it for a little while if it still needs polishing....by all means, make me wait if it needs it, it will be worth it.

any know when an australian release would be likely as regards days ahead of say Canadian release?

I would not get my hopes up. According to Gamestop, Crusader Kings is due out November 3rd of this year.
