The Inossi

The discussions continued ... The Paradisian councillor also brought a migration treaty to the table.
"Following your wars with the Sirussians ... or should we say, Rhonians, we are well aware that you recently defeated them. It is a bold move to think that they will just accept you as their rulers. They will either mutiny, either just leave to their old homes in the Rhoniam Empire. So, either way, you lose. They will not accept you as their rulers mostly because of the continuous wars you had in the last hundreds of years. We had our share of battles with the Rhonians, yes, but the Rhonians from Sirus were not a part of it. I am sure that they might agree to come and live among us. They are brawny, strong, good working force. As you can see, we don't have the physique for manual work. We do our work up there (points to the head), and this, believe me, it is also as hard work as the physical work. It brings depression, anxiety ..." ... the Paradisian was interrupted by the shouting of the door, another Alien has joined the room.
"So these are the new species to join the community (saying that as he was starring at me). You don't know what you just brought on yourselves. Soon enough you will wish you never found out about us. You will wish that Earth was all you got. You are not prepared for the terrors of this galaxy. Your uplifters, the Lucarians, are gone. All their signals went off in your systems. But yes, I suppose it is natural for the uplifted to fight against the uplifters." (I think he is referring to the Fourth Reich space)
"Ambassador, please excuse the Inossi ambassador. The Inos Administration, while not being an official member of the Council, it is an associate member. As you can see, the wars against the Malteryians and the Xha'Till have made them quite rigid."
"It isn't the wars that made us like that, and you are well aware of that. The terrors our people have seen .. you know it very well, Asterian councillor, and yet you dismiss us. Tell me, Human ambassador. Have you ever seen a creature as big as a star?"
"We .. we did not, but .."
"Good. You will know this universe for what it truly is, when you will see a thing like that. ... You know, you are not a new species to us, but you sure look quite different than the last time we visited you. It was some thousands of years ago. You used to live in caves, did you know that? ... (stares more closely to the ambassador) .. the Rhonians and the Asterians weren't the first into that system. And as far as we know, we weren't either. We just came to monitor your evolution as a species. Don't worry, we didn't play 'gods' as the rest in this room.
"AMBASSADOR, THAT'S ENOUGH!" ... shouted the Arcturian councillor.
"Trust only in yourselves." (whispered into my ear as he was going to leave the room)

"Please forgive us. The Inossi always were always difficult. (points to the map on the wall) Look. What you see here, is our galaxy. We will try to introduce you to this foreign world that you just entered." ... said the Asterian.
29c6oec.jpg

"This sector of the galaxy was always in conflict. The Thousand Years War has just ended. The Valerians and the Meridians have always been at war. Neither side remembered why the conflict has started. See, that is what wars make out of people. Too less thinking, too much killing damages the brain." .. said the Paradisian.
"The conflict ended just recently, as the Rhonian Emperor, together with the Arthell and the Xardasians just intervened. The Arthell initially fought as mercenaries for the Meridians, but they turned against them as soon as the Meridians didn't pay them. So, this territory in the right and up of the Valerians, used to be under Meridian control.
The Xardasians are an ancient civilisation, we were still in our infancy as a species when they ruled this part of the Galaxy. We do not know the reasons why they isolated themselves like that. This is how we found them when we reached for the stars. They only communicate with the Rhonians, so we don't know that much of them, but we know that they still are strong enough for the Meridians, which were forced to migrate from their old space to this new one, close to the Inossi. The Xardasians did not attack them, they just wished for the Meridians to move up there, in hope that they will be out of reach of the Valerians .. just as the Arthell and the Rhonians are making sure that the Valerians are out of reach of the Meridians.
The Rhonians have played quite a part here, as the peacekeepers of the region. We wonder why they did it though. They could have done it sooner, yet they only did it now."
2h8615c.jpg

"As we mentioned earlier, the Inossi are an associate to the Council, we try to help each others as best we could. They are claiming that they've seen space monsters capable of destroying whole worlds. They grew obsessed with it, that's what started the Xha'Till war for instance. The Inossi claimed that one of these space monsters are in the Xha'Till space, so they started to investigate, which lead to the Xha'Till to respond by attacking. The Xha'Till are a syntethic race now, but they used to be organic. Their star cooled down so much that they were forced to adapt themselves by synthetics. That has led to a rebellion .. and now they are a synthethic species. We tried to help, but in vain. The Inossi are claiming that it was the space monster that made the star cool down, and that the Xha'Till are just obeying his will. Quite a theory, but nothing to demonstrate it." ... said the Paradisian.
"The Inossi are also at war with the Malteryians. A highly religious people ... and well, the Inossi are highly a materialistic people. They do not believe in religion. That has lead to some conflicts between them. We had our share of fighting with them. We do not criticise religion, we criticise fanaticism in religion." .. said the Ranoi.
28juucm.jpg

"And here is the Rhonian Empire. A large number of people consider them our natural enemy .. it is true, our relations were always difficult with them. We tried to protect you from their expedition in the Solar System .. they tricked us, unfortunately....which led to all the conflicts you had with the Sirussians. We apologize, once again, for the mistake of our ancestors." Said the Asterian.
"...And while we had our share of conflicts and bad relations, we also had prosperous relations in the last hundreds of years. They also have an embassy here, but the ambassador is not here at the momment. The Emperor that the Lucarians killed in your system .. well, he acknowledged the council as a power to be recognised. As did we with the Rhonian Empire. We had good relations with them, but now with the new Emperor, Radovan ... it is a difficult matter. With all these offensives against the Meridians, Valerians and Lucarians ... our relations are worsened once again." .. said the Paradisian.
"The Rhonians were not alone in the conquest of the Lucarians. They were helped by the Xanderians. A hive mind species. That monster was awakened when the Cindarii left the Arthells and decided to settle to a new home ... that home was already taken. They did not know it at first, until people started dissapearing ... and during the yearly Cindarii "Long Night", the Xanderians attacked in high force while the Cindarii were busy killing themselves."
"What a stupid ceremony. One night each year, the Cindarii are encouraged to kill others and take their belongings, without any penalty or judgement. This is what led to their exile from the Arthell worlds. This is what led to their ban from the Council. We do not need such people among us." ... said the Arcturian.
"It is true .. they did put up a good fight against the Xanderians, but this conflict is still going on to this day, and now, with the fall of the Lucarians, we are afraid that they became a too great of a power....and they are getting close to our own space." ... said the Asterian.

"COUNCIL OF 4! I DEMAND JUSTICE!"

Last edited:
Someone certainly sounds angry.

The Valerians

"COUNCIL OF 4! YOU CALL YOURSELVES THE PROTECTORS OF THE GALAXY! LET ME IN! IN THE NAME OF THE EMPEROR IGORIIM !! YOU BUREAUCRATIC PIECES OF..."
"This meeting must be cursed .. let him in." Said the Ranoi councillor trying not to sigh ... the majordomo merely opened the door and the Alien already rushed inside yelling:
"I DEMAND JUSTICE! The Rhonians, Xardasians and the Arthell interrupted our sacred war! The Meridians are gone! What authority does these pricks have to intervene in our thosand years old sacred war ?! THE MERIDIANS ARE GONE!"
"They did not act with our consent. We tried to contact the Rhonians and the Arthell, both answered that they are having a peacekeeping force on your borders, so the war could finnaly end." .. said the Asterian calmly..
"PEACEKEEPING FORCE?! THEY OCCUPIED TWO OF OUR WORLDS! Do you have any idea how many generations of Valerians and Meridians have died for these sacred worlds ?! What was their deaths for?! The Arthell have no claim here! AND THE MERIDIANS ARE GONE!!!" ... so that is a Valerian .. he is fumming with anger.
"I am afraid I do not understand. Why do you weep for the migration of the Meridians .. you've been at war with them for so much time. These feelings were the last thing we expected from you." ... continued the Asterian.
"It is clear that you live on the other side of the galaxy. It is true, we were at war for a thousand years, maybe more! We forgot why it started, it is true. But both for us, and them, this war has become sacred. THEY WERE ALSO OUR FRIENDS! .. You know nothing!! After sharing the battlefields for so much time ... it is true, during the day we fought, but during the night, we drank with them. In the name of the Six Underworlds, I had children with the Meridians !
Your wars are wars of extermination, our wars were wars of dignity, respect ... and habit. Attacking the Meridians is also an act of war against us!"
...So this could have been us ... we and the Sirussians. It is true .. for generations, our people knew only war against them. Same for them. It is incredible.

It was at that time that our ambassador intervened:
"Wait, interbreeding? Is it possible between species?"
The Valerian suddenly shouted, while looking violently to us"
"WHO IS THAT?! What kind of species is that now?! And how come my translator can understand him?!"
"These are the ones uplifted by the Lucarians years ago. We were on their planet and were able to understand their language and update the galactic translators before they could reach the Castrum. These are the Humans." ... said the Paradisian, with a kinda pride in his voice.
"I see, I see. I heard a thing or two about you while I was on the battlefield. News reached us that the Lucarians were found out of their space. Those guys never left their space, unless something really made them to. After that we heard that you also had a long and bloody war with the Rhonians. So, how are your enemies now?"
"It was a long and bloody war, but we never fraternized with the enemy, at least not until we defeated them recently." .. said our ambassador.
"So you defeated them, and also live side by side now. Hah! I can respect that. Those pricks are not honorable in battle, not like the Meridians. From this day on, know that you have the respect of the Valerians.
"So what is it that you desire from the Council, ambassador?" .. said the Ranoi councillor wondering.
"You claim to be the protectors of the Galaxy! I want you to take action against the Xardasians, Rhonians and the Arthell !" .. said the Valerian with a high tone.
"We claim to be the protectors of the Council Space, including that of the associate members. You are not in the Council Space, and also, not an associate. We hardly have any influence in this part of the Galaxy, and with the rise of the Xanderians and the so called Fourth Reich .. not to mention the ascension of the Iarna, our forces will be busy. I assume you remember how fierce the Iarna were in the last war. We are sorry, ambassador, these threats are too big to be ignored, and too close to our Space. We advise you to keep the status quo." .. said the Ranoi councillor.
"THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!
And you propose to keep the status quo?! OUR PEOPLE WAS AT WAR FOR A THOUSAND YEARS ! We do not know the definition of peace anymore ! Our armies will just sell themselves as mercenaries ! And don't come to my embassy when Valerian mercenaries will be fighting against you !
*PFFT* (spiting on the floor) ... HUMANS ! NEVER TRUST THESE BUREAUCRATIC PIECES ...." .. (the Valerian was interrupted before he could finish)
"ENOUGH!" (shouted the Arcturian with anger as the majordomo already was escorting the Valerian ambassador out .. still could have heard the insults)
"From now on, no one else enters the room." (said the Ranoi with an angry tone)
4h30io.jpg

"Hundreds of years ago, when the Iarna were defeated and pushed back to their homeworld, they were forbidden to use spacefaring technology. It was us that saved this part of the galaxy that time .. and yet, we couldn't finish the job. Now we heard that they started using spacefaring technology once again ... and that they are in a defensive alliance with the Rhonians .... Your space borders are really close to theirs. For now we have no open war with them, but this will soon change. We will need your help when the time will be right, but we will talk more about this with your ruler. We also fear that other Human empire that just appeared out of nowhere. We are well aware that you had mutinies on Earth and lots of people left your homeworld back then. I also heard that these were heroes of war against the Rhonians and that they still hate them a lot. So, seeing that the Iarna and the Rhonians seems to be in an alliance now, we think that those Humans have nothing to do with the Iarna .. but then again, all of that situation is really strange. When we pointed you to the Castrum, when you tried to take the upwards road, you got yourselves into the Nazarians, the Ancient civilisation that once had this ringworld. They forced you to turn back and take the other way around, so you had to fight the Sirussians to reach us. We've been thinking ... seeing that those Humans couldn't have taken the downroad, because the Sirussians were still there at the momment ... it might be possible, if not certain, that the Nazarians didn't forbid those other Humans access through their space, so they took the uproad. The Fourth Reich is way too strong for it to be on its own. When they came into the Ranoi space and invaded the worlds, survivors mentioned some incredible sized ships. It all fits too well. The Nazarians are helping the Reich. We need to find out why." (The voice of the Arcturian was stuttering as he was finishing his words .. the Nazarians must be incredibly strong, but why would they help those fanatics?!)

A rather tempestuous meeting all in all :)

The Galactic News Network

2euh7wp.jpg

"Welcome, benevolent citizens of the galaxy, to a yet another bulletin of GNN. The only objective and neutral bulletin of news in the galaxy. This one is a yet another special momment, as the "Humans" are now also connected to us starting from now. The galaxy has been made brighter by their presence."

Ambassador: What is this, Willys?
Willys: Well, it's the Galactic News Network. From what I heard, these guys are sworn to be neutral in all matters, so they would provide an objective point of view for the citizens of the galaxy. It looks like our dear home is connected to it too now.
Ambassador: Oh, so that's why they use a robot ... *sigh* .... I don't like this place.... I mean, yeah, it looks good, sure. We are the first Humans to ever step foot in there...
Willys: You don't trust them, sir.
Ambassador: *sigh* Precisely. This place stinks. Of interests, of betrayal. I don't like it.

*in the background*

"The Human newcomers have already established a number of colonies, and with their victory against the Rhonians from Sirus, called "Sirussians" by the Humans, now they were able to establish a new colony in the "TRAPPIST" system, called "OLYMPIA"."

Ambassador: What?! So that bulletin of news will keep telling the galaxy that we establish new colonies?
Willys: I believe the galaxy will know either way when someone establishes a new colony.
Ambassador: This is like playing poker with the cards open for your opponents to see!

11kw9sk.jpg

Willys: Do we have opponents, ambassador?
Ambassador: You heard the two Aliens, the Inossi and the Valerian! .... Willys, you gotta understand. Even if we lived in this galaxy for thousands of years .. we did not live at that stage, we lived on our Earth. Why the Sirussians were so desperate to conquer us? Why would that Council show us such sympathy? They want something. There is a piece in that puzzle that I am yet to find.

*in the background*

"The Inossi, the associate member to the Council of 4, called the Arcturian State into the war against the Xha'Till. Meanwhile, the Inossi and the Malteryian leaders are meeting at the momment on neutral ground to settle for a peace between the two empires."

2rcvrsx.jpg

Ambassador: We just talked to the Inossi ambassador and the Arcturian councillor some days ago. Now look, they are both fighting together in a war. The galaxy itself is full of terrors and wars.
Willys: Well, that is what the Sirussians brought to us in the first place, ambassador.

Earth and 4th Reich is dangerously close to each other, and Earth is smaller. Can't bode well.

Hyperlanes only does provide some fun strategic considerations.

I can understand the dislike of journalists. Spies and traitors every one of them :D

The Arthell

2q85bgl.jpg

GNN:
"The Inos Administration and the Malteriyan Enlightened Kingdom had finnaly concluded their peace talkings on the neutral ground. The war started 13 galactic years ago, and now it was concluded in a white peace. The Inos Administration is still in a state of war, as they are attacking the Xha'Till, with the help of the Arcturian State."
2rf3eyd.jpg

Ambassador: Lots of peace treaties since we arrived in the galactic stage ... The Thousand Years War between the Valerians and the Meridians .. now another two great rivals ... what do you think Willys? Is it possible that our recent uplifting could have pushed others to finish their conflicts?
Willys: We are way too weak for these empires to really care about us ... let's be honest, ambassador. You are too paranoid.
Ambassador: Willys...
Willys: Do you remember the gas creatures that sent us signals from their gas giant?
Ambassador: Yeah, what's with them?
Willys: They managed to avoid extinction with our help. They thanked us .. but it seems they need one more gas giant to colonize.
Ambassador: It is beyond my power to decide that. Why do you tell me that?
Willys: Because you seem to hate the fact that we had to leave Earth and join the galactic stage. These species would have died without our help. Now they are on the rise once again. See? Our presence on this galactic stage is not as cursed as you think it is. In everything good there is something bad. In everything bad there is something good.
Ambassador: We give them more planets and in the long run they will rebel and attack us.
Willys: Unlikely.
2laxxz5.jpg

"WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU ARE GOING?!"
"GET OUT OF MY WAY, VALERIAN!"

Ambassador: Did you hear that? Let's see whats happening.

Valerian ambassador: I DEMAND YOU TO EVACUATE YOUR "PEACE-KEEPING FORCES" ! THEY OCCUPIED OUR WORLDS!
Arthell ambassador: Those worlds are now under Arthell occupation. We will not evacuate anyone, Valerian!
Valerian ambassador: AND?! Do you have a claim on these worlds?! These worlds were under ours and Meridian control for at least a thousand years!

*The Arthell notices our approach*

Arthell ambassador: What are these things?!
Valerian ambassador: Those are the new species to join the galactic stage, the Humans! These species are more honorable than you ever were, are, and will be ! They do not sell their loyalty, don't fight and die for credits!
Arthell ambassador: No wonder they don't do such things. Look how petty and fragile they are. I fought for stronger Paradisians. No wonder you needed climatic weapons against the Rhonians from Sirus. No way you could have ever defeated them conventionally.
Human ambassador: Conventionally? They nuked half of our world!
Arthell ambassador: Did they? From what I know, you started beating them only after those nuclear attacks. They made you stronger than you were, though I can not imagine how you can be weaker than you are now.
Valerian ambassador: Show some respect! At least they didn't kiss the Rhonians in the *** as you did your entire history because of some energy credits!
*The Arthell gets closer to the Valerian, in an intimidating manner*
Arthell ambassador: You don't know anything about us.
Valerian ambassador: I know that you will kill your own mother for enough credits! You fought for us, fought for the Meridians. You may be strong, but you have no honor! At a time during our war, we and the Meridians used to both send the Arthell into the first lines so the both sides could stand back and laugh as you killed each others. AND when the Rhonians called, you forgot about our war and went to do their dirty work, again, just killing yourselves in the process! No wonder the Cindarii left you.
Arthell ambassador: You try your best to insult us, and yet, your empire is close to collapsing, while our empire is going to fight the Rhonians for supremacy in the region.
Valerian ambassador: You are going to do what?! You think you can beat the Rhonians?!
Arthell ambassador: If these pretty creatures were capable of doing it, I can't even imagine how hard the Rhonians will fall when we will move a finger. You think that all the credits we got in our past were wasted? All the experience, forgot?
Human ambassador: With all due respect, we defeated a Rhonian expeditionary force, not their empire.
Arthell ambassador: Hah, the little Human overrestimates himself. What you had when you defeated them was nothing close to the scale of ours, and the Rhonian Empire. You were at the scale of the Rhonian Sirussians. You were something similar of an expeditionary force too. *The Arthell begins to laugh*
Now enough of this charade.

*The Arthell draws a little stick that turned into a blade ... putting it at the Valerian's throat*

Arthell ambassador: Those days are gone. The Arthell will no longer kneel to anyone. Remember that as we will destroy your homeworld. Now go and tell the Rhonians that we are coming for them. *The Arthell pushes the Valerian aside, his blade is turning into a little stick once again, which he hides under his clothes*
2lcwxtd.jpg

*Later that day*

GNN:
"The Arthell Regime and the Cindarii Tribunal had entered into a Non-Agression Pact. The two brothers seems to be reunited. There were no diplomatic actions between them since the Cindarii left their homeworld. The galaxy looks forward to this change of relations between the two empires."

Willys: Ambassador, is there a problem?
Ambassador: Two Aliens, twice your size, almost kill each others near you. The attacker tells the other one that he plans to attack one of the strongest empires in the galaxy, and then he tells the other guy to go and tell that to the empire. In a place where weapons are totally forbidden! SURE THERE IS A PROBLEM, WILLYS! That's why I summoned you!
Willys: You want to tell the Council?
Ambassador: I am more afraid of our safety than I am for the fact that the Arthell are making their plans public. Any news of the Lucarians?
Willys: Same thing ... nothing of them since they were last seen in the Reich's space.
Ambassador: Go and see if the Council can arrange a meeting. We need to find the Lucarians.

The Molbion Disaster

t8kuav.jpg

GNN:
"The whole Inossi and Arcturian fleets that were sent into the Xha'Till space perished today in what will be known from now on as "The Molbion Disaster". The Inossi experienced another such disaster some galactic years ago. Since then, they placed special equipment on their ships to monitor the so called "Space Dragons". That equipment is responsible for the image that you are about to see. A ship managed to make the photo and send it back to an Inossi station. The proof is unquestionable."
maxresdefault.jpg

*Willys is entering the ambassador's room*

Ambassador: You heard it?
Willys: Yes, we have a new colony. "Resilience". Harsh conditions from what I heard ... hence the name.
Ambassador: Not about the colony! About the Space Dragon!
Willys: Oh, actually it is pretty hard to not hear about it. The Inossi made sure that the whole galaxy knows about what happend there. I imagined that you would like to hear some important news, that are also quite ignored at the momment.
Ambassador: Come on, it is time to meet the Council.
2meonjp.jpg

s49wye.jpg

*Willys and the ambassador are approaching the Council Room, but the yellings could be heard from the hall*

Inossi Ambassador: DO YOU BELIEVE US NOW?! HOW MANY HAD TO DIE BECAUSE YOU WERE TO SELFISH AND PROUD TO BELIEVE US?!
Arcturian Councillor: Ambassador, we are in this together. Arcturians died too.
Inossi Ambassador: And? What about the rest of the councillors there? Where were their fleets when we called for them?! Does our associate member status mean anything to the rest of you?!
Ranoi Councillor: The Ranoi, Paradisian and Asterian fleets were busy in the skirmishes against the Cindarii, Iarna and the Fourth Reich. We had to protect our space !

*Majordomo walks into the room*

The Human ambassador and his advisor are here.

Asterian Councillor: Let them in.
Inossi Ambassador: What? You are going to dismiss me now?
Asterian Councillor: The Xha'Till sent you the peace terms. You are to give up on all the frontier outposts and colonies that are close to their space. What remains of the Arcturian fleet will make sure that the evacuation won't be compromised by any rebels, or even Xha'Till.
We are sorry, our hands are tied. We can not do much at this time.
Inossi Ambassador: First you have us make peace with the Malteryians, now with the Xha'Till! it really is an honor to be an associate member of the Council of 4! (says this as he is exiting the room in a nervous matter)
Arcturian Councillor: You must acknowledge that with this monster being in the Xha'Till hands, they might as well be the most powerful empire in the galaxy at the momment.
Inossi Ambassador: We acknowledged that long time ago, it is you that struggle to do that! (shuts the door after himself)
15dqjki.jpg

Paradisian Councillor: We are sorry about that, Human Ambassador. The discussion was getting tense and we needed to dismiss the Inossi. As painful as it sounds, the Inossi is right. The Xha'Till have in their possesion a monster capable of eating stars and destroying worlds and entire fleets. Something will have to be done, but not now, not with the treacherous Cindarii above an Asterian colony, not with the Iarna on the rise once again, not with the Fourth Reich's skirmishes into Ranoi territory. When you planned the meeting, you mentioned that you want to talk with us about the Lucarians. Well, they never left the Reich's space, and this area of space is way too dangerous to send anything to search for them.
idy8us.jpg

11iiozn.jpg

Asterian Councillor: We do have a plan that in the long run should get us to the Lucarians though. The United Nations of Earth and the United Paradisian Republic are now bordering the Iarna. However, the Rhonians swore to protect the Iarna, and should you attack them, it might bring the Rhonians into the war, luckly, the Arthell has publicly declared their rivalry against the Rhonians, and they are on the verge of war.
Paradisian Councillor: ... But the Arthell are busy with the Xanderi Hive.
Asterian Councillor: Yes, until the Xanderi or the Rhonians will manage to liberate the Arthell space on their borders, the Rhonians have no means to reach us. And even if they would liberate it, there is no guarantee that the Xanderi will let the Rhonians pass. Communication with the Xanderi Hive was always difficult.
6sctg6.jpg

2w3nk0j.jpg

Ranoi Councillor: The Valerian Ambassador told us that you were there when the Arthell Ambassador almost murdered him. Is it true what he said? That the Arthell had a blade on him? This is the first rule of the Castrum. No weapons allowed. The Arthell Ambassador could be in deep problems if the Valerian wasn't lying.
Human Ambassador: I ....
Paradisian Councillor: We have cameras everywhere, there is no need to torture the Human. You know very well that what you asked was very difficult to answer. The Arthell can be very intimidating, especially when you meet one for the first time in your life. Sure the Human is afraid to speak his mind when he saw what one Arthell can do...
25q7i38.jpg

Asterian Councillor: That is not why we continued the conversation .... We need your help. As we just told you, the galaxy is in a bad shape right now.
Paradisian Councillor: Swear that the United Nations of Earth will help the Council of 4 against the Iarna when the time comes, and you might not just find the Lucarians, but also a seat on the Council.

Ooh quite the tempting offer, especially with the Larna so close to Earth's space. though you have little to gain from a war with the Arthell on the other side of the galaxy, it might be worth it for the added security. Looking forward to how this develops. I think I've caught up on the updates again, maybe now the forum wont forget this AAR again:)

Well, for now this AAR will continue, but after October when I will have to go to college again .. if it won't be finished by then, the AAR will have to be put on hold until the next summer once again.
I am confident that if I won't be able to finish the AAR until October, I will at least build a strong story there.

A very interesting proposal. I wonder what the answer will be.

The Iarna

i267eo.jpg

GNN:
"After successfully helping the Inossi to evacuate the colonies the Xha'Till mentioned in the peace treaty, the Arcturians officially declared the war to be over between them and the Xha'Till.
In other news ...
The Cindarii managed to finnaly occupy the Asterian colony on their borders. Hostilities between the two finnaly ceased, and so did the skirmishes between the Ranoi and the Humans of the 'Fourth Reich'.
The Cindarii used to have a Council Seat, but after the Humans were uplifted, and given associate status, the Cindarii left the Council. It is now known if they left because of the Humans, as that is a confidential information belonging to the Council."

Ambassador: Come in.
Willys: News from home?
Ambassador: News from home. Come and take a look.

*Willys approaches the ambassador's desk and looks upon the information*

Willys: "The Resilience colony ceased any communication with Earth. We sent a team to investigate."
Ambassador: Go on ... continue reading.
Willys: "All the colonists dissapeared, like they were never there."

Willys: I don't know what to say, ambassador. A whole colony dissapearing? Just like that? No signs of battle, no bodies ... Just like no one ever was there.
Ambassador: I told you, this galaxy is way too dangerous.
Willys: I am curious about that ancient civilisation. Maybe we could get some information about their downfall? I wonder what provoked it.
Ambassador: Go on, continue reading.
Willys: Ambassador ... This is from the President.
Ambassador: Read it loud.

"We recieved the news of the Council's wish to give us a Council Seat in the Castrum. We also recieved a message from the Iarna. It was a video message, you should be able to see it on your computer."

*Willys is accessing the video file*

"Five hundred years ago we were driven out of our homeworld, by the world itself. We overpopulated our world, and the world responded with a virus so strong, that the only cure to it was to leave and find another pleace to live in. That is what the galaxy calls as the "Iarna War". The Council refused to give us any new worlds, so in order to survive as a species, we had to take them by force. We were defeated. Pushed back to our homeworld. Our enemies were afraid to come to our home. So they stripped us of spacefaring technology and let us on our hostile world. At the momment it seemed as a death sentence for us, but with the high casualties we took in the war, the population achieved a negative record, and the disease dissaparead ... until now. We were driven out of our homeworld once again. And once again the Council would not give us a new home.
This time we are getting help from other species. This time, we shall prevail. And now, we ask you, just as we asked other species, to join us in our struggle. We offer you protection, in exchange of your vassalization. This galaxy is more dangerous than you can imagine. You are still new to this stage. We seen the terrors of the past, we know the terrors of the future. You need our protection.
Should you refuse, we will consider you a hostile species which plots the extermination of our species. WE SHALL NOT RETURN TO OUR HOMEWORLD!"

*Willys continues on to read the message from the President*

"We made our choice. We concluded that the Iarna are too dangerous and unpredictable to be trusted. Their offer is also not what we are looking for.
Tell the Council of 4 that we will attack the Iarna at their command."

*Willys enters the room*

Willys: You called for me, ambassador?
Ambassador: I am to be a Councillor now. When I recieved the last reports from home, I was hoping that they would tell me that they will send another one for this position. It wasn't the case ..... but I recieved some news regarding the ruins of the ancient civilisation that our archeologists found. You were intersted about that, so I figured you would want to know what happend with them. (The ambassador gives Willys the report)
Willys: ........They killed themselves.

Ambassador: And Resilience was also close to be destroyed. This planet is cursed, believe me. They just colonised it again, only to almost be killed by an asteroid. Our fleet arrived just in time, fortunately.

Ambassador: Ok Willys. I think it's time. I want you to be my side at the ceremony. It's a public ceremony, so that means that the whole galaxy will be watching. I can't just go alone.
Willys: I will be there, ambassador. It's a honor.
Ambassador: *Sigh* Honor ... in this place ...
Come. The ceremonial room is in the Asterian section.

*15 minutes later*

(Willys and the ambassador opens the huge door leading to the ceremonial room ... they both are amazed to see a huge stairway, also noticing the crowds watching in silence on the sides of it. The councillors are on the top of the stairway, starting their speech)
661 galactic years ago, the Ranoi arrived here for the first time, finding an empty ringworld. They saw in this place, a place where all the species of the galaxy could meet and prosper, but also a place of something even greater, the place where the greatest alliance that the galaxy ever saw, could be born.
And so, they called the Paradisians and the Asterians. The Council of 3 was born in this very room.

(Willys and the ambassador are climbing the stairway in silence)

And so, the first councillors decided to keep this room closed, and to be opened only during initiations of new councillors. Since then, this room was opened for 3 times. First, there was an Arcturian climbing these stairs, then it was a Cindarii .... and now a Human.

We want to let the galaxy know that from this momment on, the United Nations of Earth will have a Council Seat beside us. They will have our full protection, and we will have theirs.

Although, only arriving on the galactic stage some years ago, the Humans proved themselves as worthy, capable and open-minded people. They share our motives and ideas.
We welcome you in the Council Space, citizens of the United Nations of Earth.

(Willys and the ambassador reaches the top of the stairway, where the 4 councillors are waiting)

You climbed these stairs as "Ambassador Allan Andrews". You represented your species as an ambassador on the Castrum, but now you will climb down the stairs as "Councillor Allan Andrews of the Castrum". You will represent the United Nations of Earth as a councillor from this momment on.

(The Asterian Councillor procedes to put a ring on Allan's finger ... following a momment of silence, after which the 5 councillors climb down the stairs together)

*The ceremony is finished, and the ceremonial room is once again locked down*

One feels that his superiors have sent him forth to the diplomatic slaughter - and he knows it.

Indeed. And he has all the reasons to believe that. Although paranoid and cynical, he is also smart, and he has Willys beside him. I would like to evolve these two characters some more. They are crucial for the narrative anyways, as I'm using them to show the progression of the world around them.
I believe it is pretty immersive. :D
