This channel, newly formed third started since the reinstating of democracy, is devoted to
historical bios, histories, archaeology, and anthropology of Eutopia. It will have a new episode
hopefully everyday, unless the producers suffer illness or technical difficulties.

Starting tomorrow: A history of Eutopia: an island’s heritage.

(OOC: This will be based on all the histories I can dig up. Sure, you could read them yourself, but I will not only group them, but filter out unnessicary info, and maybe add detail, and, in general, make it more fun to read.)

(OOC: If you want an advertisement in this channel’s commercial breaks, PM me. I reserve the
right to reject an ad for any reason, though I won’t be too biased towards my own party. :D )

(Last OOC: If you wish to make contributions: PM me!)

A history of Eutopia: Episode I: the Topa.

By now, so many Eutopians have been absorbed into the Latin-Anglo divide that hardly anyone,
except for those in the Western Territory and some select few history buffs, remembers this
island’s first inhabitants: the Topa.

The Topa were not necessarily true natives. The most popular theory is that in 5000-3000 B.C.E.,
peoples related to the Basques from the North and Berbers in the South immigrated and mixed,
forming those who are now known as the Topa. They built many Monolithic circles and
Pyramids, and for the description of these, we will turn to the beautifully written passage in the
national archives by Vandelay:

“Immediately on their arrival the colonizers seem to have developed tribal structures centered on
megalithic monuments - cumulative viewed analyses of the megalithic monuments show the high
level of inter-visibility between the monuments, which indicates their use as symbolic centers of
the tribes (and thus also as territorial markers).

Excavation of megaliths has revealed that many were surrounded by extensive earthworks and
palisades forming a sacred area where a number of different rituals were undertaken -
processions, sacrifice of animals and high status obsidian tools, and the removal and ritual
consumption of the flesh of those high ranking individuals who were to be interred in the
megaliths.

In the more rugged northwest of the island there was no basis for establishing an agricultural
economy. However, surveys and excavations have shown that the area was utilized by shepherds,
hunters and most importantly as a source of obsidian.

Unfortunately, archaeological fieldwork in the area has been hampered by conflict with the native
Eutopians many of whom are adamantly opposed to archaeological fieldwork in the area.”

This shows an interesting relationship some have speculated on: The animal sacrifice sounds
suspiciously like those of ancient Rome. Could Rome’s ancestors, the Etruscans, have influenced
early Eutopia? Or better yet, vice versa? Many declare this to be impossible, pointing out that
cannibalism (cadaver cannibalism at that) was never (thankfully) present in Ancient Etrusca or
Rome. Nor was megalith building.

One wonders where Eutopian culture got this influence, or should it be considered its own,
separate cultural group?

While we may ponder these questions for a long time, we may never know, for little survives
from this period-because of the overshadowing of it by the coming of the Phoenicians...

Maybe the Antiquarian society has some documentaries it might share with us?

If not I might revise/finish my Eutopian Underworld thread into a History Channel Series.

Over the ages, civilizations have risen and fallen. Today you can marvel at the monuments
and marvels ancient people left behind. Though quite an experience, many of us want to know
what this land would really have looked like long ago.

Connecting archaeology, anthropology, history, and the latest in science, Tours of marvels
intends to take you to a long ago time and place, before the present buildings, what cities would
have looked like long ago.

In high resolution 3D graphics and a aura created by ancient music, you will be transported to
another time, another place.

Tours of Marvels

(OOC: All of the screenplay will be in italics, narration in regular with “” around them, and
commercial breaks will be announced in regular text.)

The screen shows a map of Eutopia.

“Long ago, there were no English, no French, nor any Spanish. The Norse were yet to sail, and
even the Phoenicians were not yet arrived. It was the age of the Topa. But how did these people
live? What were there villages like? We will now take you to a simulation of how the oldest
known Topa site in Eutopia would be like.”

The screen begins to focus on the northwest of Eutopia. A dot is highlighted close to the river
on the border of Gloriana and St. Brendan.

“This is the likely the oldest organized Topa village. Newly discovered and excavated, it shows
an organized religion and government, and a advanced culture.”

The view zooms in, until you can see a bird’s eye view of the simulation. You can see smoke
pouring from several cookfires, and people fanning out, hunting, fishing in the large river
nearby, making pottery, weaving, and performing ceremonies. It zooms to the center of the
village, a large green with a huge pole, a meter thick and twenty high.

Men sing and dance around it. Four fires burn around it, tended by cloaked men, so highly
decorated that they must be priests. The mood is a joyful one. Music is playing, electronic sounds
creating an aura of calm.

“The Topa were far more advanced than many give them credit for. Here we see one of their
ceremonies, interpreted by the footprints left in the ground, clothes found preserved in graves,
and customs of the early Topa encounters. The true nature of these ceremonies cannot be said for
sure, but this is a for the most part fairly accurate.”

The screen moves on, slowly skimming over the huts, full of busily working, playing, and
generally happy people. The homes are revealed in every detail, but at the edge of the town, the
screen pauses at the ringed ramparts.

“For the most part, the Topa were not warlike, but they could be. So every tribe had to defend
themselves.

The screen scrolls on. At the edge of the forest surrounding the city, it stops. Time seems to
speed up, and then slows again.

“Unfortunately, this first village of the Topa was attacked by a later village.”

Warriors appear, and they charge for the city.

“The city was burnt to the ground. And so ended the first Topa city. Join us next time on Tours
of Marvels.

I am your host, thank you for watching.”

The Voyage of The Gamel

"The Voyage of the Gamel"
Part1

Camera zooms on different men collecting wood in the bushes of Libanon. It zooms in to one person in particular. Under his face their come subtitles "Thor Heyerdahl" "Famous Explorer"

Interviewer: hello sir, could you please tell us the purpose of all this.
T.H.: Well today we're here to build a ship. On the same way the Phoenicians did and with the same materials. In this wood you find the same kind of wood as in the 7th century BC.
I.: Why are you building a ship, is it as a historical replica for a museum?
T.H.: No, we really actually want to use it. You see I've got this theory ...
I.: A theory, how interesting tell us more.
T.H.: Well I believe that the Phoenicians have reached the America's long before the Vikings or even Columbus. Their's actual evidence of colonization by Phoenicians on Eutopia. So I think Eutopia was just an intermediate port between Europe and the America's. And now I want to proove this theory, by sailing myself from Tyrus in Lebanon, to Tampico in Mexico.
I.: Off course you can reach America, because you've modern Navigation which they didn't had.
T.H.: Well sir, for the experiment we won't use modern navigation, but we'll do like the ancients by the stars and winds.

Fade out and full view over the camp were the workers are working. Now a time-jump of three months is made the ship is nearing completement.

After this burden of three months, the ship is almost ready, Thor estimates it will take only one week before completion and baptization. The workers now only have to raise the sails which arrived from Paris. Wile the bow is made waterproof by filling the gaps between the planks with tar. The ship is made of the wood of the cypres, while for the cabins ebony-wood is used. Now we'll ask Thor why he'll baptise the ship Gamel.

Screenshot of Thor Heyerdahl
I.:Thor, I see that the ship is nearing completement. I wish you very luck with your journey over sea, but I wonder why'll give you the ship the name Gamel.
T.H.: Well I've chosen Gamel because it's the third letter of the Phoenician Alphabet and this is my third voyage. So I think you know why.
I.:Interesting fact, but had the fact that Gamel was the Phoenician word for Camel nothing to do with it?
T.H.: Not really, no. It even didn't cross my mind

Fade out.

Next week at The Voyage of the Gamel
