Crier : A FRENCH DIPLOMAT HAS ARRIVED!
Good, he may enter ; I want to laugh today.
French diplomat : Good day Mister, I'm here because of the interest that both our countries have for the region of Belgium.
So... want do you want? I hope you're here to propose us to take it, because you're in a awkward position and you don't necessarily want to upset our gigantic army?
French diplomat : In fact, Sire, we want it, Belgium.
...!
French diplomat : And so we ask you to support us with your navy from the English Channel.
Strange, in my conception of diplomacy, the concept of "I'm eating you from the begining and I'm not gonna stop" doesn't include any alliance with the eaten country. I don't think I'm following you clearly...
French diplomat : It's simple Mister. The fact is we want Belgium and you are in the position to help us. I don't see any other exterior elements that can interfere with our demand, isn't it?
No, you're ABSOLUTELY right...
French diplomat : Very good then, I take this as an answer of your acceptance?
HAHAHA...no. And go away now, I got what I wanted, a good laugh.

[Some hours later]

Crier : A FRENCH DIPLOMAT HAS ARRIVED!
What!? Again!!
French diplomat II : Hello Mister, I'm send here from my country to offer you a proposal which, I'm sure, will help both of us. We want Belgium and we want your support.
Funny, your colleague came here two hours ago to ask me the same thing...
French diplomat II : I'm aware of that Sire.
Then, what are you doing here? I refused the last time and I won't change my mind...
French diplomat II : This is our new tactic that our foreing minister established. Send nonstop diplomats to the designated country, then, the head of state will fall in a terrible depression and therefore, he'll finally accept the offer.
AH! I would like to see this happen! I GIVE UP TO NOBODY!
French diplomat II : Very well Mister, I [...]
Crier : A FRENCH DIPLOMAT HAS ARRIVED!

French diplomat III : Hello Mister, I'm here to remind you the proposition that my two colleagues asked you. So, what is your answer?
Same thing, I [...]
Crier : A FRENCH DIPLOMAT HAS ARRIVED!

French diplomat III : Maybe would you reconsider to another possibility?
Ah, at last, now we can talk.
French diplomat IV : What would you say if instead of your support from the English Channel, you would [...]
Crier : A FRENCH DIPLOMAT HAS ARRIVED!
French diplomat V : ... give us a support from the Noth Sea?
ARGGH!! It's become worst....
French diplomat III : But why do you want so much Belgium??
To be honnest, I want their beers.
Crier : A FRENCH DIPLOMAT HAS ARRIVED!
French diplomat VI : And you don't like your English beers? I heard you're brewing some good black beers... and with your honorable name, I can't see you drink anything else! You would dishonour your family name!
Eh... well[...]
Crier : A FRENCH DIPLOMAT HAS ARRIVED!
French diplomat VII : And you don't even know the good spots to drink in Belgium... while you know every good pubs in your country!
Crier : A FRENCH DIPLOMAT HAS ARRIVED!
But it's easy to fin [...]
French diplomat VIII : And don't forget, according to our recent opinion poll, the belgians are hostile to the possibility of a coastal attack, while they don't care being attacked from inland!

But that's bullsh[...]

French diplomat VI : [...] you're falling in a terrible depression? [...]
ARGGHEUREAAARR.........Alright....but you're gonna be sure I won't hold to my promise...
French diplomat III à IX : Sorry, I didn't understand that last sentence?
I SAID GET OUT!
French diplomat III à IX : Following this accepted proposal, we're returning to France with the certitude that you will hold to your promise!
Ok...

Maudits français... if they think that their depressive technique is working... I'll show them...

MAILMAN!

Mailman : Yes Sire?
Send these orders to my generals... Tell them to do as they wish, I'm too tired today to decide...
Mailman : Are you depressed today, Sire?
NO! I heum... bof :(

[Some months]

Mailman : Sire! I got the moves!
What...oh...well...put them on my desk...

Ahh... how do you want me to stop being depressed when I have bastards for diplomats... they can't even describe the events from the right angle and they let their children draw on the maps... :(

Diplomat spam and the AI's not doing great this game. Ow.

Was it wise to stab Germany so soon though? :(

Just to make things clear, the AI doen't spam that much in the game :D... but I saw it happened two or three times (not in the same game) that they send 4-5 proposals, one after the other... It happened for this game, so I took the opportunity to write about it. :)

A GERMAN DIPLOMAT HAS ARRIVED!
[...] What? Oh no... not again !?
cepopossible_gif.gif

German diplomat : Hello Sire, my country sent me to propose you a marvellous, Fantastic, INCREDIBLE, SUBLIME chance to do a big hit!
And what is this Oh So wonderful proposal? Isn't it the usual "We want a province and we beg you to help us"?
German diplomat : Ja!
I'm afraid we won't accept this time. Good bye.

Counsellor #8 : Are you sure, Mister, that it wouldn't have been wise to accept his proposal? You could have done like you did to the French last year.
Yes, this is my plan. But he arrived when I didn't finish my dinner and I'm sure he'll come back soon... they always come back.

[Some months have passed... but yet not enough]

Counsellor #8 : I'm sorry Sire, but I believe he won't come back... maybe you should send one of your diplomat?
Don't worry, he'll be back.
Counsellor #8 : But maybe this time he [...]
SHUT UP!! I would like to have my authority respected in my palace!

[Another jump in time]

Counsellor #9 : Mister, time is short now. You should really talk to them. And by the way... what happened to #8??
Ok...Ok... send a message to the German, I want to talk to them.

German diplomat : My salutations Mister, I hope that this meeting is to discuss about our will to acquire Sweden?
That is the case, we accept to support you in Sweden. And we hope that our generous offer will be rewarded in the future from your country.
German diplomat : But you must first do as you promised. Words have been passed that you backstabbed France last year!
I don't see what you mean by this...
German diplomat : Don't play the innocent, we are aware that you aren't trustworthy. And if you do backstab us also, you will regret it!
Oh yeah? And how will you do that?
German diplomat : First, we will ally ourselves with the Russians.
HA! the Russians! It's you who should be afraid of them, they're eating you since the begining!
German diplomat : euh.. And then, you will have to suffer terribly. You will have on your conscience the stain of a terrible betrayal!
Like if this would bother me. Please note that I have the direct murder of eight of my cousellors on my conscience. It's not this "betrayal" that would make me suffer!
German diplomat : hum... well... But why are talking about this, I'm certain you will do as planned. So, good day, and I'll tell this good news to my Emperor!

This is a good thing. So, we will take possession of Norway, then let's go to Brest. For the rest, they can hold for now, I'm awaiting an active end of year.

I see that all of our moves succeeded. I congratulate myself for such a perfect season, and also to have found diplomats that can draw more than half of Europe and which they don't let their children play on the maps.
However, they really lost their focus, I can't almost read!

Edi:

Most Paradox games have an f11 function that'll save a screen print ot the main directory. That said, I don't know if Diplomacy has that feature.

You should be able to hit 'Print Screen' (on your keyboard) or, if that fails, Ctrl+Print Screen. Then open up a graphics program like MS Paint and 'paste' the graphic in. Do what you want with it, save it, upload it to a site that lets you store pictures (ImageShack seems popular) and voila.

Back to the AAR: My instinct says to beware Russia, but they may have overextended themselves. TURKEY has succeeded in breaking out, and with their corner position they're going to be hard to get units behind. I'm still not sure it's a good idea to anger both France AND Germany right now: Together they could hurt you. Austria's done - they'll lose Serbia shortly to Turkey. It'll be interesting to see who winds up with Vienna.

Here's the way I do when I'm taking screenshots :

First, you put the camera of the game into the position you want to take the screenshot, then you press the "print screen/sysrq" button. This will take a capture of the screen. After, I Alt-Tab and I open MS Paint (you can use any picture editor) and I paste the screenshot (with ctrl-v or Edit->Paste.) After this, I use the basic functions to resize the picture and to cut the unecessary parts of the picture.

Hope this will help you!

EDIT : Well, I got beaten on this :D... and no, the game doesn't support F11... and I really miss it, mostly for future MP AAR, because it would be difficult to alt-tab during the game.

Counsellor #9 : Strange, it's almost the time to send the orders and Mister isn't there yet...

[...]

Counsellor #9 : He should really hurry himself because otherwise we would really lose our power on the continent without his orders.

[...]

Counsellor #9 : Obviously, the reputation of England will take a big fall if he's not here soon!

[...]

Counsellor #9 : I think I'll take this opportunity to take a little nap...

[...]

WHAT! You're sleeping during work hours!! You're fired and executed! No, Executed and fired! I always wanted to sack a death person.
Counsellor #9 : But... I...
Okay, now that I'm installed, I can plan my next moves. I need my maps, counsellor, get them to me!
Counsellor #10 : Mister, I'm afraid that you don't have the time for such thing. The post is closing in 5 minutes!
WHAT! HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? I'm pretty sure I pressed "Pause" before I left!
Counsellor #10 : I'm afraid that this concept only exists in your head, Sire... and by the way, you pressed the button next to it. :eek:o
Ah... shit... Well, no time for maps, I'll improvise!

Okay... I would move our fleat of Moscow to attack Paris, our army in Tunis to attack Finland, our armada in the german lands to attack the Turk, Russian and American capitals, then [...]
Counsellor #10 : I believe it would be wiser for you to let your generals decide... You seem a bit lost...
Oh...you think so?

Counsellor #10 : I'm sorry Sire, but the result of the last order is negative. We lost Brest and Denmark. And it would have been wise to believe the German, they actually got a support from Russia for their attack on Denmark. However, Norway and Belgium belong to us now.
DAMN STUPID GENERALS!!
Counsellor #10 : But it was you who missed the orders, not them!
I know :(
