This truly epic campaign is restarted again! (2.04d stared in january 2011)
As you can tell we are in spring 1942 and the war rages on on all fronts!
Russia initially overran all of Scandinavia, Persia, Afghanistan and half of Romania.
Germany took out Spain and Gibraltar. After Barbarossa Germany occupied Denmark, Norway and half of Finland where the were stopped. Supposedly the Scandinavian (and other theatres) pulled forces away from the main show because the Red Army barely stopped the German panzers at the river line from Riga to Odessa.
Then Italy opened a new front by attacking from Turkey. The mountains saved Russia in this area.
After kicking the allies out of the pacific Japan invaded an undefended Far East and invaded through Siberia, Mongolia, Afghanistan and Persia. A huge front opened for the overextended Soviet forces to defend. Somehow the Red Army managed this feat as well. Finally Japan made a push through Persia towards Baku. Somehow forces were thrown together to fill the gaps in this huge front once again.
Meanwhile the allies managed to hang on to Egypt. That's about it. Hawaii, India, Mexico and parts of the USA was under occupation when the Axis gained the most territory ever.
In 1942 however the Allies took the initiative. US forces landed in Norway. Soviet forces launched a long time planned offensive against Irkutsk. (We must have deployed small forces in the area for almost a year now.) Two armoured divisions smashed through the front and three paratrooper divisions were landed behind the lines and cut off the retreat. A perfect example of the Soviet deep operations concept! We managed to surround and eliminate 5 japanese divisions and 3 are fighting to their doom soon enough. This has opened for a push into Mongolia which I think will be liberated soon enough. STAVKA is very content with the progress of the Central Siberian Front. This is the first completely successful offensive operation of the war.
The Red Army is huge but in bad shape to fight any offensive operations with lots of low quality conscript forces. But with time the Red Army will only get stronger and stronger. Soon the fascist invaders will be kicked out!
Recently Vichy was occupied, North Africa by the allies and continental France by Italy. Heavy fighting between the Regia Marina and the Royal Navy followed where the British forces gained the upper hand (?).
On all fronts USSR stands strong. Victory is now only a question of time!
