versailles

versailles shouldbe in and the whole war should be represented better.Because the way the peace process works it is impossible for the war to gorealisticly. In reallife the entente did notmarch all overgermany, however in the game you cant getany better than a white peace qwithout occupying land

It is in fact, entirely possible, given you use the time mod....
Well, the unlimited time mod is a hack that is unsupported by Paradox, so I don't think we can expect them to start making events for 1921+ ;) :D

The trigger for the treaty of Versailles-event (which triggers assorted events in one of the varieties of peace resolutions) is:
- There is a war between Germany and France (duh! ;))
- At least 3% of German provinces are in foreign hands
- Less than 5% of French provinces are in foreign hands
- Germany has a WE of 7.

No need to march over all of Germany ;)

There is also an event (28511) that simulates the fall of the Kaiser, & either sets up the Weimar Republic, a Communist state, or a reactionary state. However, this event & the other Versailles events only occur with the 1914 scenario.

next to noi german land was occupied in great war, its just that there armies were pretty much non-existent by the end of the war, so they avoided their country being rolled over by tanks, by surrendering.

The Ruhr was occupied by the French. Did that happen before at the end of the war or after the treaty?

wasnt the ruhr after the treaty? I thought it was in the early twenties before hitler came to power, it was becaues geramny wasnt paying reperations, so sdome french troops marched ove rthe border, shot some workers and forced the germans to pay up. I may be mistaken and i think they may have been a little german land occupied during the war, but it was very little, most of the fighting being in belgiom and france.

They were existant, but weaker than before (no manpower left to make new soldiers from). But the main reason was that Austria finished to exist, so there was an open back door to Germany. And the reason to that was Wilson's 14 points. Or better said, what the 14 points developed into in the autumn of 1918.

Rajj is correct in his statement apart from France having occupied German lands or any one ells that might think so or might have, the Germans pulled back to the Rhine, the French or any of the alies had any more stregnth left to go futher then that, and Germans didnt have any more stregnth to go towards tha allies and force them back and gain land from the French, but Rajj was correct in that small French contigent went into the Ruhr Gebit to agetate the German's and the german Government to keep paying reparation or to speed thigns up, I am not apawaer of any shoting going on or posible killing to terrorise the people to work harder or more, thats a meaningless thing to do, but the rest is 90% correct.

Actually, on the date of the Armistice on 11/11/18, only on small tip of German territory was under French control in the Alsace. What drove Germany or better the OHL (Oberste Heeresleiting - Supreme Army Command) under Hindenburg and Ludendorff (who really ran the country then - not Kaiser Wilhelm) was the entry of the US into the war in conjunction with the failed Sprint Offensive of 1918, especially the battle of Chateau-Thierry, where the combined French and US troops stopped a German advance. It got worse through Argonne and Ypres where the Germans were pushed back. At that time, all the UK, France, and Germany were basically bleed dry, and the influx of fresh US troops tipped the balance. So the OHL saw the inevitable and tried to end unnecessary bloodshed (contrary to what happed about 35 years later) Another tid bit, the reason why the British Army at times was very timid during WWII was due to the high losses in WWI and the explicit desire encounter the same losses as then, with the subsequent consequences of losing most of able men. The Germans didn't feel exactly like that. Of the men born in 1922, only 5% were still alive in 1946.

The first time French troops entered the Rhine area and Saar was in 1921 after Germany was unable to meet the reparations that were levied on it under the Treaty of Versailles. In a way, the French played the repo-man and were about as popular. The Germans prided themselves of "not being defeated on the battlefield" - conveniently forgetting that if they wouldn't have asked for the armisitice that they would have been beaten, but more importantly gave rise to the "Dolchstosslegende" the Legend of Stab in the Back - that the defeat of Germany was only possible due to deception and treachery.
