Chapter 3.5
“Simply Unbelievable ” The Prime Minister
“What do you mean we cant?” asked the Prime Minister
“We simply can’t afford it” The Chancellor of the Exchequer pleaded with his hands straining the point at hand.
“Let me put it simply, if we can not defend our lands, there will be no economy left to worry about” The PM was satisfied with winning that argument.
“The Parliament won’t accept it” Was the chancellor’s final word as he briskly exited the room to continue his worrying elsewhere.
“Major Lumsden, what do you think of Mobilizing the Territorial Army?” the PM asked inquisitively.
“They would be nothing but a holding group sir, these weekenders, old men and farm boys, and there is even a full strength division of women volunteers! None of them would not be fit for overseas duty at all, let alone being able to defend our shores.” Lumsden finished saying, relighting his pipe.
“Don’t underestimate the courage and determination of our volunteers, they would gladly give their lives to defend this country!” The PM stood up as he said this and walked out of the room with a smile on his face. Lumsden could only sit back and watch, tapping at his pipe and wonder how the reserves were going to be handled without crippling the economy. For although he was no economic expert, he did take a keen interest in such affairs, and worked out that with the 5 mobilized reserve division, the budget could last 1 ½ years before the government ran out of money.

The Entire ANS Fleet
Sir John Grimes stood on the foredeck of ANS Queensland, watching the sunset over the Australian coastline slip away past the horizon, the small fleet of ships made their way through the Pacific islands of East, trying to avoid the watching Royal Navy, which greatly outnumbered the small fleet.
23 days later…
The sleepy port had not yet awoken from the night’s slumber, when the Australian ships slid into the main port. Literally hundreds of people were awoken when the ships pulled into port, and the entire city was woken by the sounds of men and equipment being unloaded from ships directly onto the docks. They were greeted with flowers and cheers of the native population; the Australian Army had liberated Singapore from the shackles of British Imperialism, however a priority message arrived by carrier pigeon that was most important…
