1836
March 23... Army Intelligence have come up with a new form of thought for fighting, something they call Jominian Attitude... they tell me it will raise morale but cost me more money.....
April 26... Antwerpen fell into my hands and I celebrated by stringing up the local rebel leaders and then placed their heads on pikes for all the city to see...
May 4 .. Liege fell, which is kinda crappy as its where my French regulars are being recruited from... have to liberate the province before I can get my extra troops...
July 7 - the Great Powers have given me an ultimatum as to Belgium... I can recognize the traitors, but I will lose Arlon and Liege, which just sticks in my thoat... NEVER! I will die before I allow the traitors to take apart my country....
THE BEST POSSIBLE NEWS - France and Great Britain both chose to stay neutral in the conflict, while Prussia and Austria both sided with me... I am going to enjoy watching the traitors swing... maybe I will inform Mousieur Bonnet, my faithful torturer, to play with them a bit before they die... let them drink only English wine or French beef or something....
July 21 - Navy Intelligence distributed a memo supporting Corbettian Naval Theory in regards to his Superior Crew Thesis... thankfully, it doesnt cost me a thing...
Speaking of the navy, have decided to send them to port for the duration of the Belgium conflict and cut their maintenance to the bones, saving me a few coins here and there...
Yes, I am cheap, but I am in charge, damn it...
July 25 - disaster.... my 3rd Corps were anniliated in Brussels... 14,000 men were buried in a pauper's grave by the rebels...
September 2 - won the battle of Liege and an now rooting through the countryside extracting vengeance on those who were appeasers of the Rebels... with Liege taken I can deploy the 7 divisions that were waiting ...
I have heard Rumours that Prussia is mobilizing troops to send to my aid, but I am not counting on it anytime soon, as the Prussians seem to take their ow sweet time with things.. I should have offered them free beer for every victory or sausages and strudel with every Rebel killed - that would have put a fire under their fat bellies...
September 15 - Prussia has grasciously let me 15th Corps - 50,000 men strong... awful nice of them and I have made a note to send a case of Netherlands sausage and some of the finest Amerstam Light available to my new allies...
September 24 - 9th Corps is on load to me - 20k strong... you know, you get all these notions that the Prussians are egotistical, beer swilling, sausage eating whale blubbers with narcisstic tendendies towards delusions of grandeur and then they go and do something nice....
October 14 - the Rebels offer a White Peace... heh - good one....
November 20 - Army Intellignce caught a traitor from Anhalt... silly, silly little man who pleaded for his life like a puppy whining for his chew toy before he was executed... I was warned that this would reduce relations with Anhalt, but as I had to consult an atlas just to find where Anhalt was, I dont think that this will put a huge crimp in my plans for world domination... Anhalt is this piddly little South German province in the middle of Prussia whoe sole exports are apples and whining secret agents...
Decmeber 28 - converted another 100,000 farmers in Batavia into soldiers to appease my Army leadership who were clamouring for reinforcements....
1837
January 30 - the Belgium Rebel leadership have offered a peace where they "give" me Antwerpen, Gent and Hassalt... the Herald had the gall to tell me that the offer was fair and I reminded him that he is giving me back provinces which were already mine.. what really galled me was that the Herald used to be a jester in my court and had this woderfull ability to juggle balls with his feet.. most amusing.. I reminded him of this as an aside, and he seemed to be taken aback at the memory that he was once just a source of amusement as opposed to this high and mighty Herald position with a bunch of rebels.... after his indignation, he showed his back to me, which was an insipid little thing to do and I made a note to make him a toy of Bonnet when the rebellion is crushed..
March 29 - Strategic Mobility is complete and have instructed that work begin on the application of Practical Steam Engine, as I am told this will eventaully lead to wonders within industry....
March 30 - started work on fortifications in Luxemburg and Arlon, along the French border... Frenchmen can be very tempermental at times, and am almost 100% positive that sooner than later there will be an invasion by the cheeze-eating surrender monkeys...
March 31 - signed two directive today, the first establishing a trading post in Minto, an island in the Java Sea, and the second expanding all colonial operations, a request that cost me considerable resources....
