So i am playing within the Holy Roman Empire. I have a very high Diplomacy stat. So of course the emperor wants me for his chancellor. I don't want to be, first i am plotting his demise and second i don't want to be thrown in jail for checking out some dukes wife.

I say no, but he keeps asking me over and over again. He will not give up. Its been about half a year now of constant letters. I keep declining but he keeps insisting.

Meanwhile he is operating without any chancellor. He does not have high diplomacy so several revolts are brewing. I want to cause chaos within the empire, so this is welcome.

But it is kinda silly that he would not just give up and go with a slightly less skilled vassal.

That's something that I've noticed with my characters whenever I get solicited to work in the court. I generally just take the job and when it's time to attack, resign and wreck hell!

Not sure if that´s the best option, probably better to not be chancellor. What about killing his wife to make his diplo plummet even more?

However, if the plan is revolt by faction, then you should be the faction leader. The AI has a tendency of revolting ASAP instead of accumulating more allies for the faction.

Youre doing the right thing, if your diplomacy is high, he'll probably send you do fabricate claims, and by Murphy's law, he'll have a lucky streak and you'll use that diplomacy to fabricate him a few claims, which he'll use to increase his power.

Maybe you could load as him and choose him a chancellor? That will probably shut him up.
