Well there is first a little confusion here.

The E3 map by mumia, is set for 1936.
But there is another map by fabfeingold, which is, well I'm not sure, but I think it is the E3 map, but has more stuff on it? Best to PM fabfeingold directly, or read back the thread a few pages to were he posted it.

How it works:
If you download the E3 map, extract it and the same as any mod, put it directly into the dh/Mods folder, select it and play.

IT IS ONLY a map, so has no events, but does have a basic set up for you to start with.
To add anything to the mod, just look at what dh does and where it goes, and do the same.

Basically my version of the map is the E3 Map, with a topographical look on top of it. However since I did add some provinces it is not completely compatible with the old E3 map files for that you also need my modified map files which you can also download. But As Novapaddy said: this is not a fully playable mod. Events and AI have not yet been adapted to the new map.

Basically my version of the map is the E3 Map, with a topographical look on top of it. However since I did add some provinces it is not completely compatible with the old E3 map files for that you also need my modified map files which you can also download. Just expanding on what fabfeingold says above.

The dh default ai is good for the E3 map, so you can use that.
Stuck for events, then get the events from dh that you are interested in, and just change the province IDs to suit this new map.

You will have "complications" using the E3 map because some of the things they have done for the dh map, does not work, or stops your mod working properly on the E3 map, so beware of that.

What kind of things. Well some things like "loss or org on move" you cannot change, as there is no way to change it AFAIK, but I got rid of "digging-in" and suddenly the AI worked like a dream.

So, don't expect a simple change over of a map, you may have to play around with things to get it working as you want it to.

I am not exactly sure what you mean. The map plus the new provinces without what? Unfortunately mapmaking is a bit more complicated than normal modding. You can't just take add something and take something away. Every time you make one small change the entire map has to be recompiled.
I want only the new provinces you made plus the new rivers with their names in the tooltip.

I want only the new provinces you made plus the new rivers with their names in the tooltip.

That I am afraid isn't possible. Alas if you want the new provinces only without the topographic look you will either have to modify the E3 map yourself or hope that Mumia incorporates them. The rivers are more easy. You could copy and paste their names from the adjacent.tbl file from my mod to the original E3 one, of course minus the new rivers I added since these are dependent on the provinces I added.

I'm sure this has already been answered in the last 120 pages so please forgive....Does a E3 map exist for DH 1.04 latest version? Are there any tested mods with event triggers with the E3 map that are DH 1.04 final patch compatible?

imho, it's a bad idea - you can disbalance everything. Manpower not directly depends on province number. As you can see each province is usually has 0 manpower, so can't make additional MP to MP pool. Most of provs has zero MP. In real life small province has small population, only cities (big) give most of population. If I want to gain more MP, I would probably edit misc.txt, set each zero prov with small MP (0.01 for example) or look into mobilisation events.

Of course the misc MP gain will have to be modified too. Just add another 0 behind the comma and the effect on MP gain is essentially the same as before. Only now MP is spread much more realistically over the map. Before it wasn't especially realistic that all MP would be concentrated in a few provinces. Now this also makes more use of the larger number of E3 provinces. No loosing provinces - any province - actually hurts not only loosing the big ones. The flip side being that loosing the big ones isn't as bad any longer.

By the way, how is AoD? One description made me laugh: "Get AoD if you like bad translations" - or maybe that was about Iron cross..

AoD is not as polished as Darkest Hour, (still the old Hearts of Iron map for example - something the E3 map will remedy) but it's underlying logistics and economic model is more sophisticated in my opinion. For longer timeframes it is therefore more suitable than DH. The bad translations thingy was Iron Cross. In fact they were so bad that it was/is? completely unplayable. Not a problem in AoD.
