You need the dh1.04 text.csv file from the config folder to see the map distances displayed for every province. Let me check here and come back in a mo.

Mumia, as I said earlier, I've found 2 provinces I couldn't find at map:
PROV2102
PROV1989

It seems to me they weren't painted.

Checked, both IDs were not painted as you said, I will reuse them if needed.

Thank you all for your work. I think this version should be officially renamed to E3Map v1.1. I will reupload it at weekend and post links in the first post of the thread.

Well I'm working on a new mod which by the time I've finished with it, will include most if not all of darkest hour vanilla. It will then just be a short hop, step and a jump to WIF2.

I'd love that, as my big hangup with WIF 2 and vanilla DH is that fighting in France tends to be extremely cramped...this might help a bit with that.

Yes, just check back a few posts to where I and another guy had a small problem, and follow the advice. Sorry I cannot help further, I'm in the middle of something difficult here and I need to keep my mind on it or else it will be gone...

Sorry if this has been addressed previously, but is this mod in a position where I could slot it into say NWO2 or Kaiserreich mods?

Or would it have serious issues with the map/black provinces or screwy ownership or complete collapse of the game?

The map is in a condition to use. BUT it uses different province ID's to the dh map. You will need to change the province ID's in the events and AI files of any dh mods if you wish to use this map.

It is not as big a job as it sounds. You just start with one country, do the id's and carry on. Soon you will have the work done.

Ah, fair enough, I might hold off on it till I am comfortable with playing around with the code

also from personal experience, Ai tweaking can take some time , for example it could take up to 4-6 hours for a single nation if you want it to behave accordingly to your expectations

Don't be put off so easily. Most things in life worth doing are going to be a little difficult to begin with, but you will get better the more you do it.

I don't know how good the AI is for WW1 in DH, but generally for the WW2 AI, if you simply replace the province ID's map to map, the files usually work ok.

Do you have any links to any tutorials to making events or editing the maps?

I guess I might as well make a summer hobby out of it

Sayd did a dh to E3 map province ID to province ID conversion a few pages back. Find that.
You MAY be able to slot that ?? into Bizon's mmc program, which was used to port hoi2 maps to dh. Possibly ask Bizon about it. I may have already, but I don't remember (honestly, bad memory)...

If you download the E3 map for dh on page one, it is already inside DH for you. I think the DH version may be a little different, but you can simply slot in the newer files if it is.

SO the E3 map will open up.

Open up the GER files in the mod, WORK ON COPIES, and simply change the province ID's in the events / Ai files one file to the other.

YES when you start, after a while you will say "xxxx this!" BUT then your ingenuity will kick in and you'll think of a better way and easier way to do it.

GREAT if you are already familiar with coding or working with text expressions.

Oh, I don't want to port anything, at this moment in time I'd be content with the basics, like making new events and tweaking with the map/province ownership as these currently elude me. I would think this would be a good base to start on?

Just asking if there was any threads out there that act a tutorial for people like me to cut my teeth on a bit of modding
