Where the ability for rapid movement across "tank country" was not possible, armoured penetrations often were avoided or resulted in failure. Terrain would ideally be flat, firm, unobstructed by natural barriers or fortifications, and interspersed with roads and railways. If it were instead hilly, wooded, marshy, or urban, armour would be vulnerable to infantry in close-quarters combat and unable to break out at full speed.

That sucks, i used to think that massing armor and punching through forested areas with lots of infantry would work. One of my critical mistake in Battle of France.

Blitzkrieg in full bloom. The point is to keep pushing forward and creating a continuously changing front on a flat terrain. Tanks do the breakthrough while motorised/mechanised take up the flanks. Infantry will follow up to clean up any cauldron formed. Dislocate the enemy and avoid strongpoints (AT, or heavy tanks). Ideally with air support too. That is why the mobile warfare doctrine gives you extra org to mobile and mechanised forces. Because they lose organisation while moving. So it is best to keep the speed up while continuously pushing forward without losing too much org.

Edit: Listening to the new DLC Ost while playing blitzkrieg makes me
