I presume that imse's is the worst with something around 40, a little less than TrinTragula, while Meneth, Servancour and DDRJake probably have the highest, possibly also Katz.

grekulf and r_lazer could basically throw in the towel - fortunate alliances may allow them to beat their immediate neighbours, but behind the neighbour is an even more powerful one, etc.

Question: are there rules on (not) allying Ming? This could be gamebreaking early on if, e.g. Korea manages to get Ming to help slaughter the Manchu (TheLetterZed would be foolish to help Wiz get Feudalism and surround him)

Anyhow, looking forward to this game and the awesome commentary by Chris and Johan (I picture them as Statler and Waldorf in 20 years time )

Since Forza won't be a part of this MP, i guess i'll root for everyone's favourite Scot. Although i suspect Jake's totally going to get jumped on by his neighbours. Jaunpur is a nice starting spot in India but man... I hope he's good at diplomacy.

Player distribution seems great, I like it that you listened to the community which pointed out the inherent unfairness of previous assignments on different continents.

If the other players remember everything he said about them while he was commentator, he's going to have a bad time (jk, his comments were all fair ). Still hoping for a statement by @DDRJake on his loan policy in multiplayers though. I honestly doubt that he refuses to take loans in MP (it would be pointless self-crippling). We'll have to keep a close eye on his admin rating in this regard.

Reminds a lot of the last dev clash, with StarNan and Ihki doing their thing once again. If I were the other players, I'd take a stance against them before they become their next victims.
Jake was a surprise. Struggled more than expected and then he was kind enough to leave Servancour alive.

That was mostly my fault. I messed up an engagement and lost most of my army, simultaneously while Jake lost most of his to that huge rebel stack.

I could see Jake, Ihki, and Da9L teaming up for an alliance. They're all somewhat in their own areas and hence needn't get at each other's throats so they could agree on Jake taking India, Ihki getting Further India and part of China, and Da9L getting Polynesia and possibly some of the islands of Further India.

I'll be interested to see where Trin (and the rest of the walking dead) get moved to.

Honestly? I hate being a Negative Nancy here, but I feel like this was a disappointing first session. There were no new names that really stood out to make a name for themselves. Just the same people who succeeded from previous campaigns beating up on the same names who lost in previous sessions. I want to see somebody who doesn't have a cult following to step up. Come on, Mong Yang, get some alliances, I fear for you survival down the line! Bahmanis, Vijay, please unite to take down Jaunpur and/or Gujarat! You two need to match their no-nonsense policy of ferocity towards players if you want to maintain your spot in India.

I think the only region of the world I have the most vested interest in watching is Japan. The rest of Asia is straight-up, clear-cut vicious. No Japanese powers have expressed any interest in bloody conflicts with one another yet. I look forward to see how those rivalries develop down the line.

Wiz is just running away with it so far. By the time he can be seriously contested by a convincing coalition of players, he will be by far the strongest power in the game. And with how these dev games work, there's no guarantee that that coalition will even form.

I can't see the Indian Triple Hugbox lasting long term. The question is if they kill Jaunpur before it breaks apart.
