Bengal is defeated, and so am I. And despite that, or possibly even because of that, I've had great fun these past weeks!

By choice. My test runs 2-3 sessions ago, the AI would always form Shan within a few months, so she's definitely able to form it if she wants to.

Shan is pretty pointless. Flag is also pretty lame. Formed it once as Mong Yang myself and gave up after 20 years when realising it was a lame formation.

Shame for Meneth and Jake but an end was going to come this week. Either to Starnan or to Jake/Meneth. Hopefully Jake gets his revenge on Ihki for the grand betrayal. But Ihki is also comfortable behind a thousand kilometres of lackeys so maybe next DLC cycle can be Jake's revenge.

Anyone think that Groogy's Chinese borders have come out as genetalia? The bottleneck, head and stem. Yikes...

Next week looks due for a tame game I think. Consolidation of borders in China, India, Americas. Nogai digging themselves out that deep hole and maybe a late war against Persia by Starnan. Maybe Ethiopia going for Karem Borno (?) and Mali. They'd be foolish not to imo. Not the exciting stuff. Need some BETRAYAL in South East Asia. But then again, Dai Viet's hostile coring costs are a big turn off for those tech lovers.

Next week there's GDC so there's no MP; instead Jake and Chris will hold a Scottish stream, which, as Chris joked, might get so Scottish that subtitling is needed.

This session wasn't filled with dramatic wars but some great moments - Kanem Bornu's constant military failures, Nogai getting dominated by AIs (in case anyone didn't realise by now Tabarestan is quite militarily potent if it survives!) and of course the possible conclusion to the Thunderdome. Cleanup in India might result in renewed tensions, and with China all partitioned up other than the north (which is mostly going to be free game for Korea unless someone does something drastic) China may become the new Thunderdome instead!

Does anyone know why Persia has been so passive and has such terrible tech? Is it just the curse of having all those weirdly shaped low development provinces with poor adjacencies resulting in little instituiton spread?
