@Servancour what happen with regard to Khorasan? Did you lose a war?

Yeah, about that. I messed up.

I tried to get a few provinces from Baluchistan before Gujarat could take them. To secure the mountain provinces along with a fort. But I got more AE than I anticipated. So I had the Mamluks start a coalition war against me soon after. Which Gujarat was quick enough to use to his advantage. So I just surrendered the coalition war to get rid of it, which meant that I had to release Khorosan. Then rebels starting going way out of control.

I'm most likely going to have a hard time getting Persia back up and running. But I blame myself for that. The following war might have been easier if I wouldn't have done that.

Korea feeding manchu all game when they've had several opportunities to curbstomp them and would have gained a hell of a lot from doing so is pretty lame

It would be interesting to see how this would have gone if the first session had no chat and none of the players knew who they'd landed next to for the first session

Daniel in Brunei may have made a mistake in colonising California right in the middle of the Japanese sphere of interest. He would probably be better off focusing on South America where he can use his superior colonisation speed and conquer the large native nations to build up some powerful colonial nations (before using their power to take on the Japanese).

Also, why is the Ming still so weak? In real life they had vastly greater population and wealth than the countries that attacked them in this session. Though they may have had logistic problems in projecting power abroad they should have easily been able to win a defensive war (unless they were already collapsing to their own rebels).

I hope you learned your lesson! Was Tabarestan in some kind of mega AI alliance or something, Persia should have same culture cores there right? I was baffled as to why you didn't go that direction first... I was expecting to see you bulk up and be the big scary Western neighbour to the Indians without really getting too involved though even from the previous session that wasn't happening.

Well played to Katz for being the definite winner from all the turmoil in India and (unless there is a serious intervention from some 3rd parties at the start of next session) presumably about to take another juicy chunk of territory.

Once China is done being divided up into little tasty parcels I'm expecting to see wars that make the Indian Thunderdome look like a kids' party.

My compliments to the devs. Total war everywhere! All of them were interesting to watch and most of the people suffered hard to deliver a great fight. It's the action we all love to see and watch.

I do wonder why people forget about Meneth/Bengal for the domination of India. He started off slow, but with the current developments, he might actually rise on top if the remaining human players keep destroying each other. Jake was a nice shield to devastation in the past and he might be still in a future war. There's no better way to fly under the radar than by being under the wing of Jake or Wiz.

He hasn't done much expanding, but it's easy to overlook just how rich Bengal is due to trade even at the game start. However his current position in the war vs. Vijayanagar isn't looking all that great and those provinces in the south have a fair chunk of development (though they're probably also quite thoroughly devestated)

I think the players deserve to get a bit of time for a peace deal after a war like that. Let's face it the penalties for not peaceing out immediately after a country surrenders are severe and can break the victorious country in a few minutes on higher speeds. Far too little time to transfer control of dozens of provinces and decide who gets what. Then all nations involved had literally dozens of rebel stacks to deal with and monetary concerns as well. I can't imagine them recovering unless they had that minute or two of breathing room.

Also
Johan do me a big favour and blow your nose or something. Your noises are the reason I always stop watching.
^ this, hopefully the cold will be gone by next week :)

Oh and a new quote "The ottomans are strong, but not insanely strong" *while showing the ottomans as twice as powerful as the next great nation*

Also, why is the Ming still so weak? In real life they had vastly greater population and wealth than the countries that attacked them in this session. Though they may have had logistic problems in projecting power abroad they should have easily been able to win a defensive war (unless they were already collapsing to their own rebels).

Weak is relative here, we hit Ming whilst he was at his weakest, he was in a war to make a tributary, he had zero manpower, a quarter of his forces were mercs and he had started taking loans. Ming was literally at the point where he was about to consolidate his power, after he won the war he would've stablised completely.

Our combined forces were about 165k, which was more than his standing army at that time and we'd been preparing for the war so we had the manpower to deal with losses.

I'm not sure how powerful you expect a nation to be at that point in the game, but if Ming had stablised he would've been the most powerful nation in the game. It was our window of opportunity and we took it.

I don't know where all his manpower had gone though, can only assume he had some trouble forcing those hordes to bend to his will through the last couple of sessions.

He hasn't done much expanding, but it's easy to overlook just how rich Bengal is due to trade even at the game start. However his current position in the war vs. Vijayanagar isn't looking all that great and those provinces in the south have a fair chunk of development (though they're probably also quite thoroughly devestated)

He can now expand northwards as well and perhaps even snap up some lands that Jake had to let go. In fact, for Jake it might be a good thing that Meneth would have a border with Vijay. At the moment his nation looks the healthiest and both Starnan and Jake aren't the guys that will back down. In fact, apparantly they prefer mutual destruction instead of finding the diplomatic way out. All Meneth has to do is slowly expand a bit north, take some new land in India perhaps and watch what a new similar war will do to all nations. Obviously he will fight in it as well, but I somehow doubt his nation will be ruined like the others. Even Vijay lost a lot of manpower, got tons of destruction and had to take plenty of loans.

What a mess in India. Well, Katz is getting the better end of that deal, it seems x)
