The realm rejoices as Paradox Interactive announces the launch of Crusader Kings III, the latest entry in the publisher’s grand strategy role-playing game franchise. Advisors may now jockey for positions of influence and adversaries should save their schemes for another day, because on this day Crusader Kings III can be purchased on Steam, the Paradox Store, and other major online retailers.
I believe that they said it will be released only after we ritually sacrifice a thousand elves upon stone altars.
Yes, stone altars simply have no style at all.
Admittedly there is more of a logistical challenge involved when investing in wooden sacrifical alters, but who doesn't like cutting down trees to cut down treehuggers on? It's a two-in-one opportunity, and for variation you can easily build a sacrificial altar out of sacrificed elfs to sacrifice trees on. Or more elves. Or both. There's a certain beauty there. Of course, as they say, the only thing getting dull with sacrifices are the knives, but occasionally you need that little extra to really keep the blood flowing, so to say ...A wood altar, while ideal for sacrifice by flame, is just simply not suitable for large scale sacrifice of the type required by Paradox. The wood tops would be quickly diminished by the constant stabbing of elven hearts, much like a cheap cutting board. Not to mention, the constant expense of having to replace the altar every time you need to sacrifice someone is just not suitable for the current economy.
And that concludes today's Dev Diary. Thank you for tuning in.
I want the DD.
Apparently there's some bizarre Swedish ritual where all the devs disappear for the month of September. I believe it's called "vacation." We Americans don't hold with such pagan nonsense, of course.So... how about that Svartalfheim? It's month late already![]()
No that was August, wasn't it?Apparently there's some bizarre Swedish ritual where all the devs disappear for the month of September. I believe it's called "vacation." We Americans don't hold with such pagan nonsense, of course.
It might be that we've been bad at communicating this, but we changed the schedule to be every other monday and last week we posted the dev diary about gamescom/gencon since much of the team had been there working during that time. There will still be a new dd for next monday.
Thanks Birken, I was wondering where it was too![]()
Re communication, these things happen, but the gamescon DD suggested there would be one this week, and DD 19 stated the below, raising my hopes at least!
As you know from the previous dev diary we have decided to keep you in suspense over the summer by posting dev diaries every other week up until August 25th, and then we'll return to our usual weekly schedule.
Thanks SolSara, I look forward to reading the next one thenAs you might have noticed we have rather long dev diaries, and it takes a while to write them. To give us more time to write even better dev diaries, and to lighten our burden somewhat, we have decided to keep the schedule of posting dev diaries biweekly. So the next one will be on Monday, 8th of September.
