This is a great AAR, and you're really keeping on top of it. *applauds* So Germany doesn't control Austria or Czechoslovokia?

Austria is allied to Germany and Germany only took Sudeten from Czechs.

Great updates! I see plots everywhere, in everything. No, wait, its just an AAR... :D

There was a letter like that... Something about the long march towards west writen before Barbarossa...

Discussion between Adolf Hitler and Hans Oster, Head of German Intelligence
January 19th, 1940
Berchtesgaden, Bavaria, Germany

Hans Oster:
The Soviet decision to annex Finland worries me deeply, Führer.

Adolf Hitler:
You worry too much, Hans. Stalin is greedy. As are we. What do we care of Finland anyway?

Hans Oster:
With Finland laid low, the Baltic states will surely give in without a fight. The Red Army will have time to amass upon our flank. When we move into France, we will be at our most vulnerable. Our army will be heavily concentrated in Northern France and committed to the Paris offensive. At that moment the Soviets could cross Poland and be in Berlin before we could react.

Adolf Hitler:
If Stalin wished for war with Germany, he would have sided with France in the original event. He decided against war with Germany in September because he wanted to pursue other aims. He has commited himself to neutrality against us.

Hans Oster:
Technically, the Molotov-Ribbentrop has been broken by the annexation of Finland. What confidence can we have that its remaining provisions will be upheld?

Adolf Hitler:
Stalin has agreed to peace. I think you are being paranoid, Hans.

Hans Oster:
Just as we agreed to Versailles? Our current position is evidence enough that words are meaningless.

Adolf Hitler:
The Treaty of Versailles was unjust. It was also signed by an illegitimate government. Neither applies to Molotov-Ribbentrop.

Hans Oster:
We should at least commit a sizeable force to defending Berlin and Prussia, as a precaution.

Adolf Hitler:
Nonsense. We will keep minimal forces in Poland and the northern coast. Enough to prevent Anglo-French landings, but no more. We need all the divisions we can in the Low Countries.

Hans Oster:
I plead with you, Führer. We cannot entrust the future of the Reich to the benevolence of the Soviets!

Adolf Hitler:
Hans, I have more important matters to attend to. I have suffered enough of your complaints. Your voice has been heard. Now it will not be. Good day.

Hans Oster:
So be it.

Of course she is :p

Germany is not as powerful as it could be, tough luck. Your quotes are very fitting, I'd say.

Have a nice weekend :)

Bullshit :) - R-M was clear about Finland - it was Soviet sphere of influence (remember what Hitler said before Barbarossa when Molotov was in Berlin? That he was giving Stalin everything he wanted in '39, he took what he took, so now it should be enough...). Finland was not annexed IRL because Finns fought so bravely - Staling was hoping for a quick "liberation" and rejoining of another happy soviet republic (THAT was the reason of Kuusien's "government") - but Finland fought - no liberation - how would annexation look after that in eyes of the world? Remember the farse with Baltic States and elections...

What!?! This fine AAR is relegated to page 3! :p

On a lighter note, will this be a war of straight annexation or setting up a string of Warsaw Pact Nations?

If there isn't an update in the next 7 days, i'll start getting impatient! (No pressure, eh.)
:D

Should be interesting considering the German forces outnumber the Soviet, and the Japanese empire has nearly as many.
